Q:
Do they offer anything gluten free?
A:
Yes, many of their offerings are gluten free. You'll want to be careful with toppings like tempura flakes and the like (which they can leave off). If you want you can build your own bowl completely from scratch. There are many options for sauces,… more

New spot open in Sugar Land town center. The lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly. There was a bit of a language barrier with the person making our food but we got it done.
They have a lot of choices and options (and I cant believe I'm saying this) but maybe too many.
From a pure poke perspective they only offer spicy tuna, spicy salmon and shrimp. The regular side item of krab is a protein here.
They had toppings like mango, corn, basil and bacon bits. It was definitely fusion. A little on the pricy side but not terrible at $11 a bowl. They do have a kids menu which is nice.
Had the woman not been so nice they would have gotten 3 start but she was overly nice so that added a 4th.
I'm sure they're just working out their kinks and it will be amazing soon enough! Good luck!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 2019
This place is cure and chic, and chilled environment. Food is (3/5) but service is really good so that's why I'm giving 4 stars.
The one thing they lack is protein options. They should have more. The only thing that stood out is salmon and tuna.
Make sure to add for extra sauce, cause it'll taste a little blend.
Overall, a decent poke place and has the potential to be better.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 6, 2020
Definitely a small place that not many know about. I enjoy this place when I rarely eat poke. They have a large variety of toppings to pick from and for my first time, the guy working was able to talk us through suggestions and what we could get protein and sauces.
I didnt want my rice too soggy because the sauce went straight into the base before the protein, but everything turned out great! You can really customize everything to how you want it which is what I enjoy best!
Their seating is nice, very spacious. They do have outdoor seating as well if it were a sunny day. Pricing is good and they offer fountain drinks too!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 3, 2019
I am so thrilled that Sugar Land FINALLY has a poke spot! I was so excited to try this place that a friend and I came by during grand opening week for lunch. The restaurant is small but very cute. I love the decor inside- it looks so hip and modern.
I made my own bowl this go around and chose a mixture of seasoned and sushi rice. I would prob skip the seasoned rice next time as it was a bit mushy and I prefer a more firm textured base for my poke bowls.
Service was great and I was offered a free drink with my bowl to celebrate their grand opening- thanks, Poketo!
The portion size was large for the price but I think I'll go with 3 scoops of protein my next go around to balance out the amount of rice that's provided.
I was surprised to see that plain wasabi is not a topping that's provided for free. I had to pay $1 extra for wasabi tobiko. I also believe the first 8 toppings are free and then there's a fee if you want more on top of that.
All in all, I enjoyed my visit and will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 5, 2020
I've been here a couple of times since it's near my workplace and I really like poke, so here's my review:
+ food options are good enough; not as much as other places but I'm a simple girl so I just go for the salmon and eel which they have plenty of
+ portion is really good; I get pretty full and have a little bit of leftovers
+/- the place is not that big but it's usually not that crowded anyway so you'll be able to find a seat easily
-/+ customer service is okay...for some reason, they take their sweet time putting the food together when it shouldn't be that hard. Thus, the line does get long sometimes
Overall, I would come back again by myself or with a small group of people.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anisha K.Houston, TX37256157Oct 9, 2019
So glad that there's finally a legit poké place in Sugar Land!! Located conveniently in town center (next to the parking garage and across Flying Saucer), I'm able to easily stop here on my way home from work for dinner.
Every time I go, I'm greeted warmly and offered samples of the proteins - which is great if you're trying to figure out what to get.
I usually stick to their spicy tuna or salmon, but their chicken chimi moa bowl is life changing! I highly recommend it.
Not really a huge fan of the fact that masago and tobiko aren't included in the base cost, but other than that - no complaints!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 9, 2019
Is it my favorite? I wouldn't say so. Is it better than others in Sugar Land? Yes, indeed!
I got the build your own bowl, and it is nice to find that they have different ingredients offered such as plantains, seasoned rice, falafel, cherry tomato, basil, pineapple, mango. I really like the taste of the seasoned rice, but it was a little dry, but I really liked it nonetheless. It was different than the regular rice, and mixed well with the other ingredients. For the sauce I had the garlic cilantro and spicy mayo. At the end, the staff asked if I wanted more on the side, which was nice! All the other ingredients were pretty fresh, including the tuna and salmon. The only thing I didn't particularly liked was the seaweed salad, which I've always liked at other poke places. And they do not offer the fake crab salad, which other poke places tend to offer.
However, it is probably the best poke place here in Sugar Land, so far. Past businesses haven't done well at this location, so hope they do well and stay for a while because Sugar Land has a drought for good poke!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Yasmeen A.Sugar Land, TX31989Jun 3, 2019
I'd like to rate the place 4.5, but I can't do that. I was so excited to find out that a poke place has opened up in the Sugar Land area. Granted the quality is not as high as some of the places I've been to in central Houston (which is why I knocked it a half star down), but it makes up for it in the portion sizes and the pricing.
I ordered the Original Bowl ($11.00) which is a great price for the amount of food and quality that you get. I have been there twice now and ordered the same thing but with different sauces. I asked the employees there if the Pokemamba sauce was either soy based or more like mayonnaise consistency, and either they don't know what's in it or they just don't want to tell me what it is. Either way, I just asked them to change the sauce to Spicy Ponzu and they were fine with it.
The Spicy Salmon and Spicy Tuna was not really spicy at all. Which was a great thing because I didn't want the spiciness to overpower the bowl itself. So don't be worried about the 'spicy' part of it. But maybe they should just offer just plain Salmon and Tuna without the added seasonings.
When I sat down, I noticed that they had hidden specials on some of the side signs on the wall that aren't listed on the actual menu itself. Just look for a sign that has the sister restaurants (Japaneiro's, Guru, Jupiter) visible and you'll find it.
Overall, I would gladly come back again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Natasha K.Houston, TX506238652Apr 12, 2019
Sugar Land has been missing a poke place and it finally got one!
I made my own bowl, half salad and half quinoa with the garlic sauce. That combination was tasty and healthy. You can add as much add ons as you want, which is really nice. Most places charge extra after 3 or 4 toppings. The salmon that I had was fresh and delicious.
They have a nice variety of toppings and sauces. If you don't want to make your own bowl, they have plenty of signature bowls.
The place is clean and the staff are friendly and outgoing. They seemed very enthusiastic to be working there.
The only tip I would give the business is to make the inside brighter. It seemed very dim inside. I think adding brighter light would bring the restaurant to life. But other than that, it is well decorated and well composed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
