Update, I reported thIs company to the BBB and explained in details how our family was impacted by the negligence of the PODs representative. Their response was that they were sorry that my experience was not up to standard and offered nothing in return for the loss.

PODS Moving & Storage

Hi, Rob! We're disappointed to hear about the poor experience you had with us. Please allow us the opportunity to look into this for you. You can send us a direct message with your customer ID (or the email address associated with the account) and we will investigate this.
May 4, 2020Previous reviewWe put our trust in this company to provide transportation of our household items from state to state. My wife spoke with a representative for a consultation on our moving needs. Upon completion of the consultation we were recommended their largest POD to take care of o needs. On moving day we had the POD delivered and hired a movers to load it. The moment movers arrived and immediately stated that we were misquoted on the the POD needs for our home size. After calling PODS for help we were unable to get another POD to allow us to remove the items in our home in time for the new home owners to move in. This forced us to give away half of our belongings and these were essential items. Dressers, night stands, rocking chair, patio furniture, water table, kitchen table and chairs, home gym, numerous household items etc. We called the PODS company and they listened to the consultation call and determined there was an error by their staff in the consultation. They offered us a credit around $360 for their mistake. Well thanks for the small fraction of the cost of our lost items. That will get us a new rocking chair. Well our POD gets delivered and all our the cloth material items has a musty mold smell. Every piece of clothing piece, every bed now smells and they are new and now my son has to sleep on a mattress that smells like mold. They were supposed to take care of our things and they simply didn't. I know our things don't matter to this company but they meant everything to us. It's disheartening to be treated so poorly by this company.

They cancelled my reservation after charging me for the entire move in full. Currently, my POD is sitting in Seattle in 96F heat. The process realistically takes 20-30 days, not 10 days as advertised. I was lied to by customer service on 3 occasions (after 30 minutes on hold 3 times I was told they were picking up the next day)....lie....Newport Issaquah Storage is rewriting their POD policy since PODs are so disorganized, which I would interpret as lost business.
I wish I would have never used PODs and paid more for a more competent organization.
It's 9/8/2017.....my things won't ship for another 4-5 days. I've been packed for over a week and I won't see my belongings until the end of the month.
They charged me in FULL immediately ($4100).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

What a disaster!
PODs is great in theory: but the theory breaks down if there's anything odd about the location you'll want the pod delivered to.
In my case, they refused to drop my full pod off at my new house on the day I was to move because my driveway had a slight slope to it. I'm not talking a steep incline, just a bit of a slope.
This left me with a full container that had no place to go and ended up costing a ton of money as I had to hire movers on very short notice.
They did manage to drive their truck up the curb and all over the flower beds though.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Neighbors!
Please don't think because there's a POD in our driveway that we recommend them. We do not.
Here's what happened:
When we called to request our POD be delivered so we could move into our new house, PODS said they couldn't do it until a week later than we needed it.
Understandably, we were a little frustrated so they said they would have a supervisor call us to follow up but one never did.
A week later than we needed it, our POD arrived only to find it full of bird seed and infested with field mice. PODS had it for two months.
Now it's empty and they won't pick it up for another week. So, there it sets in our driveway as free advertisement for their corporation.
Please consider our horrible experience before choosing PODS and don't do it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've had a POD scheduled for delivery for over two months now and have been planning my trip half way across the country to my next military assignment. I gave myself two days to pack the POD and another day as a buffer in case something went wrong. I never thought the thing that would go wrong would be that a POD would never get delivered.
I've reach out to customer service eight (8!) times to try to get any update with absolutely no success. I've been hung up on while on hold, told I'd be called back and never was multiple times, and am still without any POD two days before my house is to be closed on and have to vacate the property regardless.
The last thing anyone wants to deal with when they are going through a stressful move is problems with the moving company. I am lucky that I don't have any kids (besides my two dogs) or else I can't imagine what I would do.
I have talked with two managers and neither one can get ahold of anyone in the Seattle area to tell them what is going on. It blows me away that in 2018 with all the technology available to people that someone can't find out where or when a POD will be delivered.
I am now having to rent a U-Haul truck and load it in an eight hour window, pay a friend to help me drive it 1200 miles, and change hotel and travel arrangements.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I read the bad reviews but my company gave me a small discount with them.
I thought...What the heck. I'll TRY IT!!!
Lots of negative yelp reviews are generally from people who are angry about "something else" --displaced anger and it's not necessarily from interacting with this company so...... I gave it a shot.
my background: I've moved 8 times total past 10 yrs, including twice I used movers who soiled my couch. Or had things go "missing".
people don't seem to realize you do PACK YOUR OWN stuff (unless you have hired movers).
There's great points about doing it yourself, as in wrapping it and making sure your stuff don't get damaged.
It's much better than having to drive back and forth to a storage unit. You use up just as much gas money and time - so you must decide for oneself if one should either want to waste time or just have a container dropped off.
If you also moved to or live in an extremely hilly area (Queen Anne) they seem to not be able to drop off your container. to be on a safe side please call them.
All the drivers I have interacted with were VERY nice.
I was kind of scared reading these reviews.
My new house is slightly sloped, one guy laid some foam down to not damage the grass area with the truck. It's fun watching them use the truck to drop off the container from the bed.
And again, you yourself are responsible for your item. You can hire movers to put things in the container
(I'd recommend that so they can maximize space and tie your things in so it wont get damaged)
I knew ...being that you're in Seattle, wet, rainy, - yeah I wrapped up my glass tables well, the important papers in totes and plastic bags, TV in a container.... I was worried about my antique bedroom set getting wet but it all came back fine. I even put dehumidifiers in the container to keep it as dry as possible.
I even called the 1 800 number because I had a question. They were polite also .
Overall, great experience. Will use them again. I think the team that were in Sumner (now Kent?) are all great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erik K.Bellevue, WA12031Jul 3, 2017
My original order was OK, but the driver had a bad attitude. I put in a pickup order for later in the week. When they did not arrive on the specified day I called and asked what was going on. Some how my order was changed for pickup a week later. This didn't fly with me so I called and got "in their face" and wanted an earlier pickup. They came 2 days after my original pickup date.
Today the driver showed up with my POD at 111:45 which was the end of the [9:00 am to 12:00 pm] window. Not really happy with this outfit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patty G.Auburn, WA206May 13, 2018
I read the negative reviews and wasn't going to use them based on what I read but the other companies did not operate in the local areas we needed so we decided to use them.
I am so happy we did. The customer service rep was very helpful. He explained every step, went over the quote and verified our drop-off and pick up days. We received calls the day before each time to confirm the timeframe, then the driver called in the morning with more accurate timing. All things went very smoothly and no broken or damaged items. So happy we went with them.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - North C.Seattle, WA73361Jun 1, 2016
Customer service is worse than United Airlines, thankfully PODS employees dont fly airplanes! Partially my fault as I didnt read the Yelp reviews before calling them. Typical MO of an untrustworthy company, when you are signing up for a new account the guy is your BFF, when you call for delivery or any inquiry, they berate you until you give up.
I called Customer Service to get clarification on the delivery zone because my moving address is 10 miles outside their zone, and the guy started the call by yelling, "WE CANNOT DELIVER IN THAT ZIP CODE!". I asked to him to stop yelling, to which he responded more angrily, "I AM NOT YELLING, THIS IS HOW I SPEAK!!!!"
Ultimately, I will have to have them drop off in a parking lot, have movers load in to their truck and have it delivered to destination costing an extra $600.
At this point, I will just be happy to get my stuff delivered safely... fingers crossed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The worst customer service ever! And be careful of the charges - written way into the rental agreement but not disclosed in the phone conversation. You pay to separate for drop off, pay to pick up and huge rental fees charged by the MONTH...and no rebate if you only go a couple days into the next month. Also not explained when you call and order.
NEVER USE THEM or at least get all the info upfront before you make your decision. Very expensive option, and they contract with local movers, not from their company.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
