8/15/2021Updated reviewEverything. Is. Amazing!
Who makes this food?!
Why is it overwhelmingly, impressively good?! What is happening? Whenever I order something new on the menu, the very first bite nearly brings me to tears because I simply can't handle being so impressed, again. How can each new item be equally as wonderfully gratifying as the last?
Imagine you've had a sip of coffee and you grab a bottle of water and drive to a new trail to go on a morning hike. After an hour walking, you realize you are lost. Morning turns into afternoon and you still haven't found your way back to the trailhead. You traverse up and down steep terrain. You sparingly sip your water, trying to conserve some of it, if you can. Evening comes. You run out of water. Finally, just before all light is gone, you find your way to a road and wave down a family in a minivan for help. They offer to drive you back to your car. As you hop in, they remark, "You look exhausted. Are you hungry?" One of them reaches into a giant bag holding the dinner takeout they had just picked up. They hand a freshly wrapped burrito to you. It warms your hand. You peel back the foil, revealing a corner plumped with various unknown ingredients, seen only as an array of colors just through the tortilla. Without hesitation, you envelop the burrito's corner with your mouth and take your first bite. Suddenly, your eyes roll back as your shoulders drop limp in relief. Vivid color returns to your sight as you well up with satisfaction. It seems this burrito is the best thing you've ever eaten. Is it because you were famished or because it is, in fact, an amazing burrito? There is no way to know.
This is how I feel every time I try a new dish at Plum Bistro. But I'm not famished. Pretty epic!

8/7/2021Had a bit of a messed up order here on Grubhub, but the items I did order and get were great!
The vegan banh-mi is probably one of the better made banh-mis I've had. There is a sufficient amount of fake meat (meatballs) in it so that you never end up with bites of just bread. The sriracha aioli also really complements the vegetables and meat really well. Easily my favorite dish.
The fried chicken burger wasn't too bad either. I really like how crispy they made the chicken, but the overall dish could've used more taste either via sauce or pickled veggies.
For both dishes, the fries were unique and awesome, even if they weren't warm. Happy to see vegan food as good as this one! - Makaela L.Bothell, WA221723
8/7/2021Okay SO the first time I came here was on a date with my partner about a month ago. We realized we have never just walked around cap hill with no plan in mind, so that's what we did! And we came up the alley shops to find this stunning pizza at someone's table. We decided we needed that pizza. We sat outdoors and the area was darling. He pointed out lots of vegan options but I was like I think it has both plant based and non-plant based due to the food descriptions being able to be taken either way. The pizza was a sausage mushroom pizza. I wanted to get the double cheesy meatball bake but since we were sharing we ordered the pizza, watermelon cocktails and rosemary garlic fries with aioli. Everything was delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, and dense on the inside. Amazing. The pizza had toppings piled high. And the cheese. Oh my god the cheese. I raved about it to my coworkers and they said it was a vegan restaurant! I was shook. I had to go back. I've been thinking about the cheese ever since.
Fast forward to today, my mother came to visit me who eats a plant based diet. She agreed to try Plum! I thought to myself, cheese time. We get there around 1:40, a Saturday afternoon. The host took my name and number and they call when your table is ready, we waited about 20-25 minutes. It was busy brunch time. I quickly realized double cheesy meatball bake was indeed not on the brunch menu. Dang. The menu confused me a little because they have "NF" next to certain things that were nut free, but not every nut free item had it next to it, but the server was happy to double check the items I was interested in! Maybe they could be a little clearer on that though. Unless I was missing something. My mom and I agreed to split blueberry citrus pancakes and their chili. Weird combo, but we wanted to try two very different things to see how they stack up! (Literally). The wait was 35 minutes, so just be prepared for that on the busy days. Definitely worth it. I was too excited and took a bite out of my pancake before I got the photo, 5 minutes after I said "I need to get a photo so don't touch it first" we both failed.
THE PANCAKES WERE CRAZY BONKERS. They had lemon sauce, coconut whip, and maple and somehow it wasn't overwhelming it was AMAZING
THE CHILI WAS HEARTY AND DELICIOUS. My mom noted she loved how there were chickpeas in it. My last bite of it I took, I mentally prepared for it, and to my delight, there it was. Yep, the cheese. I can't even describe it. Perfect melty goodness.
I am extremely satisfied with my meal today, but I won't be able to stop coming back til I get my double cheesy meatball bake. I can't wait to write that review. - 420440757
7/23/2021If I were to eat every meal in cap hill at one restaurant it would probably be Plum Bistro.. their sweet potato gnocchi is to DIE FOR and their Buffalo burger was absolutely scrumptious.
I'm also such a fan of their watermelon mojito and apps - get all of the apps, the general Tso's cauliflower was fire and the calamari slapped harder than anticipated. Their carrot cake is pretty to look at but not a fan of sprinkles ngl.
I wanna have every meal for the rest of my time in Seattle here. - 298338598
7/14/2021Amazing Vegan spot in Seattle. Got order through GrubHub which went smoothly.
Was very impressed by their Mac N Yeast which was a vegan spin on Mac and cheese with nutritional yeast. Texturally not the best, being mostly soft and oily, however the flavor is deep and wholesome and reminds me of a very good Mac and cheese. We also loved their General Tso Cauliflower which was a mildly too salty but well flavored take on vegan chicken texture but the saltiness was well offset by the forbidden rice and broccoli. We also got their Vegan Sausage and Mushroom Pizza which didn't make me miss meat at all- also solid especially since it had no cheese but didn't make me think about it.
Definitely will be back. Highly recommend whether vegan or not. - 3252621
7/7/2021THE place to hang out and eat a yummy meal with your vegan/vegetarian pals - or simply treat yourself to beautifully crafted food. Lovely ambience, delicious dishes - if you're a vegan skeptic, prepare to be pleasantly surprised! All their "veggiefied" fare will have you forget you're not eating animal products.
Between the eight of us, we basically ordered the whole menu. Highlights/personal favorites:
- Dish of the night: their bread pudding. Unreal. Skipping straight to dessert here because it was truly the star of the show. So coconutty, rich, perfectly moist and topped with delicious ice cream. We ordered every dessert option and all agreed this one was the winner.
- Appetizers: the side of fries was crispy and delicious, the cauliflower "wings" were topped in a lovely sweet/bbq type of sauce. The "Mac and Yease" was a perfect alternative for oven-baked mac and cheese - decadent and creamy, coming in a smaller size portion perfect for trial if you're also intrigued by vegan mac.
- Main dishes: I ordered the Mama Africa salad which was a VERY generous portion of fresh lettuce, crispy tempeh sticks, sautéed ground "meat" (quinoa and millet), avocado, citrus fruits, slivered almonds, and a side of house aioli. So tasty and quite satisfying for a salad. Can attest to the "Taco Night" plate ("shrimp" and "chorizo" tacos), gnocchi, nachos and Reuben sandwich all tasting wonderful. We cleaned up our plates!
- Drinks: SO pretty and refined. Came with lovely garnishes and tasted delicious. Our favorites were the Silly Summers at the Lake, basically a watermelon mojito, and Dreaming of Thailand, made with banana-infused whiskey. - 8888601049
6/29/2021I occasionally dine at vegan restaurants, and Plum Bistro was the best I've had. During my trip to Seattle in May, they had limited indoor dining and outdoor pod reservations so my husband and I ordered takeout. They have a lot on the menu that I referred to The Infatuation's recommendations to narrow down my choices.
I still think about the Mac and Yease (5 stars) because it was better than most dairy versions at other restaurants. It was seasoned well with lots of flavor. Nutritional yeast is an essential ingredient to vegan versions, and this was done right.
I don't think I've had a fried mushroom I didn't like, and I really loved the Oyster Mushroom Calamari (5 stars). The use of oyster mushrooms created more texture compared to a portobello as it closely resembled calamari. It included a delicious sweet chili dipping sauce.
The Sweet & Spicy General Tso's Cauliflower (4 stars) was a good pick since I'm into the buffalo cauliflower trend. The cauliflower's meaty texture was coated with the yummy sweet and savory sauce. I liked that it was a full entree with broccoli and forbidden black rice.
The service was 4 stars since our order was complete and ready on time. Our entire meal was so good that I would be a regular diner if I lived in Seattle. Plum Bistro's dishes were memorable and satisfying even for non-vegan palates. - 53231250
7/26/2021Probably the best vegan restaurants I've had so far in Seattle! Big fan of the menu here with tons of interesting options to try from. I ordered online through their website for pick up and it worked like a charm.
I had the mac & yease, taco night, and black pepper chick'n burger. The chick'n burger was great and made me forget I was eating vegan. It was cooked well and the sauce was fantastic. The mac & yease (must try!) was a big hit for me and seems to be one of their most popular items. I'd even say I'd rather have their mac & yease than cheese/dairy versions elsewhere. The tacos were just decent though - I'd probably skip these for its price.
Although a bit pricy, you can definitely taste the quality in the food. Looking forward to returning to Plum Bistro! - Bella F.Summerland, CA174526
8/19/2021plum is such a great spot for vegans and non vegans. It is truly one of those "wow this is vegan food? It tastes like meat/cheese/non-vegan!" gems. The Mac and cheese is amazing! However it is quite oily. I ordered the gnocchi which was tasty as well

5/28/2021I was sold a dream.
I was extremely excited to eat here! The atmosphere is calming and serene. I heard so much about this place and even was told that non - vegans love eating here.
I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped to be. The fries were fantastic, I would go lighter on the rosemary but they were great. The salad was amazing as well. The spaghetti, eh, it was okay. I'm not vegan but I do know that there are some really great vegan meat and cheese brands out there as I sometimes use them myself.
The spaghetti had a very earthy taste to it - I'm not a fan. I say if you're vegan, you'll love this place a lot if you're not vegan, you may not enjoy it as much.
