THE best Greek food around! Took a couple whose Mom had come from Greece. He knew every item on the menu. His Mom & Grandmother used to make all the items. We all tried a bite, ( more than 1 bite) of all he ordered. Wonderful and habit forming.
There is always a line to get in on the weekend. The service is impeccable, our waiter, Greek himself, enjoyed our company almost as much as we valued him. (Sorry forgotten name), The food was delivered hot and beautifully placed. There is not an item on the menu we didn't try. Incredible!!
However, it's a tiny bit loud, so a first date...we leave that up to you.
If you are looking for authentic...you have found it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gaby B.McKinney, TX1123Jan 2, 2024
BEST CALAMARI EVER! i am a huge fan of calamari, but nothing evens compares to the calamari at platia greek kouzina. the calamari is fried to perfection every single time i order it, it is just the right amount of crunch. the sauce is perfect.
i usually order the chicken. you cannot go wrong with the rotisserie chicken here. it is so flavorful and filling. the potatoes and rice are delicious as well i would recommend those as the sides.
the service is always wonderful and fast. we are usually seated and greeted almost immediately.
the ambiance is so cute. it feels like a small, family owned kitchen. the walls are gorgeous and reminiscent of an art gallery. the decor is beautifully mediterranean, you will feel as if you were transported into a whole new country.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amigo K.San Diego, CA133884832Nov 17, 2023Updated review
Smallish place, in a large mall in Frisco, Texas, north end of the Dallas metro area, and a very nice city.
There are outdoor seating options, to include a patio section. A small section inside the main dining room is partitioned.
The acoustics make conversations a bit loud here, but it is still enjoyable.
Staff is excellent, it appears to all be the same family. They really care about your comfort, and dining experience. The menu has Greek names, and English language names for dishes. Many cuts of meat are served here, be sure you are ordering what you like. Fish & Octopus also!
Dips with small pita bread slices make a great appetizer. If you cannot decide which dip (tzatziki or hummus) you can get All 3 dips in 1 order.
Today, I had a light lunch of Fasolakia: whole green beans stewed in a lightly herbed tomato & olive oil sauce. This is so savory, you could eat a pound of green beans! Good for you too!
Greek Fries, with herbed Feta cheese crumbles... anybody would eat these nonstop! Like Lay's potato chips, but even better!
Avgolemono is a shredded chicken breast meat, and plump white rice soup, with a very light lemon zest added to the creamy broth. Avgo-lemon-o tells you the lemon is in there, and a good contrast to other dishes. Chicken soup is good for your soul.
Opa! Yamas!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 9, 2021Previous reviewWe were up at Stonebriar Mall, in Frisco, Texas north of Dallas. Brunch plans fell apart, now I'm on my phone going through reviews of places outside.
Platia Greek Kouzina rated 4.7 and was close by. It was after the lunch hour, only 3 tables occupied. Staff was pleasant, one was spraying and wiping tables.
We chose simple dishes, and we simply got leftovers. I don't want to scar their reputation, but whoever is in the kitchen needs to learn their job. The pita bread was stale, the souvlaki chicken was dry & tough.
I had ordered a cup of house coffee, it never arrived. We had other things to go do, and decided to just write this off as a bad day to have picked Platia.
Seems like a decent setting, with outdoor, partially covered seating, open to the west side view. Platia has a siesta ( closed ) from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. - Chirantan M.Frisco, TX1175Apr 11, 2024
Good food and quick service. We went on a Saturday evening with the family of four and had a 15 minute wait which wasn't too bad. The ambience was more like a diner than fine dining. The service was prompt and efficient and the food tasted pretty good.
Overall we like the place for the quality of food and the value for money. I would definitely recommend this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Seith L.Abilene, TX46814Apr 8, 2024

Wanted to try this restaurant for a while and glad I came hungry. I love Greek cuisine and would like to try every dish on that menu. I ordered the trio of dips (tzatziki, eggplant, and and whipped feta with pepper) and a lamb souvlaki sandwich and they didn't disappoint. My kids had chicken tenders with fries and declared they were among the best ones they've ever had. Small-ish dining room was completely full at 5pm, and the staff was very helpful and entertaining flambéing meet. Would definitely come back, I haven't had any space left for dessert and I'm a sucker for baklava.

I got lamb skewers and my bf got the chicken skewers. The lamb skewers were tough and not tender. When it wasn't warm, it was too tough to chew through. The green beans were yummy. The potato was alright. The chicken skewers were dry.

We live over an hour away and we were in town last weekend for an event. We love Greek food so tried Platia. I am certain my entire family would agree this was some of the best we've had!
Not only were the individual dishes delicious, we also really loved the appetizers we ordered. We always order calamari when we can and this was one of the best ones we had as well.
The staff was friendly from the front door to the waiters. The busser was fast.
The space is decent and very nicely decorated. We actually had to come back for another event in 1 week and ate there again! We can't wait to come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison L.McKinney, TX1316Apr 5, 2024
Delicious! The food is fresh, reasonably priced, and there is a great selection. I love that it is BYOB. We are on the patio and were able to enjoy our time with friends over a delicious meal. We had the dip trip to begin our meal, pastitano(sp?), and finished with Sofias torte!

Came here with a friend for a quick Sunday lunch and was not at all disappointed! This may be the best Greek food I've had in Dallas. Our server was very sweet and only popped in on our table as necessary, quick service also (food came out fast). The restaurant was also very well decorated and the music playing was not too loud. Food was spectacular, I will be coming back to try more items
