Go for their Friday Fish-Fry Basket!

My friend and I arrived around 5:15pm on Friday. Street parking was easy. We were lucky and grabbed the last open table since we were going to order dinner.

Our server greeted us promptly, handed us menus and asked for our drink order. I ordered my favorite beer on tap - New Glarus' 'Spotted Cow', opting for their 16 oz. size instead of the 22 oz., and we each ordered their two-piece fish basket with french fries.

Our beers were served quickly and we waited, maybe 10 minutes for our fish baskets to arrive. Both the fish and the fries were PIPING HOT! Excellent! Along with the fish and fries, there was a small paper cup of coleslaw that was pretty tasty. The exterior of the ketchup and the tarter sauce condiment bottles on the table were really gross; seems they don't get cleaned much. But the tarter sauce was good with the hunks of perfectly fried fish (which I'll guess was Cod). The fries were the thick slabs of potato and really substantial. The meal was *very* filling.

We got our check without any delay (two beers and two 2-piece fish baskets = $35) and left after paying our bill so as to free up the table for someone else.

Food s was great and the service was great too. Came in the first day of Deer season and they still did a great job with all the people filling the place.

Food is good and service is fine, but wow, this place has seen better days. Worn out tables and chairs, nasty carpeting, clutter seemingly everywhere, etc. Additionally, the clientele here is mostly locals from the campgrounds that ran out of beer. Don't bring kids here - it's a pretty redneck crowd that has no filter, even if kids are present.

Phill's is a great bar, with excellent food, the best and most attentive staff in town, and a fun atmosphere.

The owner and staff make sure every visit is a quality one.

They also feature "Mom" working in the kitchen. She is a Chetek legend!

The owners of the bar went out of their way to make our visit fun and memorable. The bartender was exceptional and went above and beyond as well. I highly recommend stopping here for great food and drinks!

Burgers served on Texas toast - no buns. Not a good idea. Bread falls apart. Lackluster flavor on the meat. Homemade fries and onion rings good. Service is just so-so. Waitress never came back to offer refills, never asked if everything was okay. She was too busy socializing with the local bar patrons. Very disappointed and waste of money.

My husband and I went there last night for supper. He had the fish and I had the Mac and cheese burger. The food was delicious! The drinks were good and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Although they were busy we got our drinks right away and our food came pretty quickly also. We go to Chetek every year for the 4th of July and we will definitely make this one of our places to stop and eat when we come to Chetek.

Walked in to this place visiting Chetek WI for the 3rd time. Cash only almost made us turn around but they do have an ATM. staff super friendly. We ordered Broasted Chicken - Naked. Might be the best chicken I have had in years. Not super kid friendly, but you could order take away and by the time you get home the chicken will be the perfect temp to eat. The coleslaw is good. The sweet potato fries have a drizzle of maple syrup. Overall YUMMY!
