I want to start by saying that I can't have kids and losing my dog was like losing a child. I understand that not everyone gets that but Diesel was much more than my dog, he was my best friend, my companion and my support animal.
My parents considered him their grandson!
To get to the point, dealing with Petland was incredibly insensitive as if they could care less. When they left a voicemail that he was ready for pick up, the lady finished the call with "what the fuck was that..." CLICK!
I walked out of the "shop" with a blue plastic bag as if I had picked my dog up a bone or toy from the pet shop.
The sincerity should be no different if you're picking up your family member vs. a precious family member (animal).
I will never deal with Petland in the future and will be making a formal complaint with the owner!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katherine P.Tacoma, WA27153Jan 19, 2018
Not at all impressed getting my babies ashes back. Everyone I have ever known who has had their pets cremated (not through this business) has received the remains in a beautiful little box. The boxes always vary but they are always lovely and respectful. So picking up Ozzie's ashes today should have offered a bit of closure to a heart breaking experience with the sweetest and most loved disabled kitten in the world. Sadly to my absolute horror I picked up Ozzie and his ashes had been put in a cheap tin can with a "made in China" sticker still attached. We deserve better and Ozzie certainly deserves better so now we will need to buy a new urn for him. But we absolutely won't be buying it from this company. Unacceptable!

Our deceased chickens were handled with respect and care. The staff answered all my questions and they were returned to us quickly. They understand that these were more then pets, but family members and treated them as such. Thank you for offering this great service.

This is a great facility with excellent owners and staff. The man (name escapes me, so sorry) is 2nd generation there and is caring, compassionate and understanding.
A couple of years ago we lost our old miniature longhaired Dachshund Girl "Mary" (my profile picture) and took her to a different place in Burien for cremation and were taken advantage of with an obscene charge of $500.00! This for a 12lb dog!
We were able to drive our, "Mattie" there after hours and we very well taken care of. Mattie was cremated and came back home to us a day later.
The charge was a very reasonable (and fair) $75.00, she was handled with respect and care and allowed to be cremated with her favorite blanket.
They also provide burial grounds on site and they have an assortment of urns and boxes.
If you have a pet that you care deeply about (or even love), remember this review so that you do not have to try to figure out where to go when the time comes.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brittany P.Seattle, WA6562Aug 6, 2014
Petland did absolutely beautiful engraving work on the wooden urn for our kitty. Most of the set up was done through the vet clinic but I had to call to make the engraving additions and they were extremely kind and helpful. The woman who answered the phone was so patient while I asked many many questions. When she determined that for what I wanted I would have to get a larger box, she was very nice and didn't charge me the extra fee. If you ever find you need a beautiful memorial to your lost pet, I would highly recommend Petland.
