Perla's Hair Studio

We had an appointment at 4 and she greeted us with warm smiles. I was amazed how the studio was set up because it was so put up so well. I felt as if I was at home. The atmosphere was inviting and calming, it's high ceiling made the place very open.
We brought our one year old to have his hair cut for the first time and we couldn't be even more pleased with it. She kept the year old calm and joyful and the hair cut looked great!

Perla actually saved me from having to destroy all my pictures of 5th grade. I went to see her when it was cool for the kids to have a tail, you know the bob with a long rat tail growing down your back- ugh- I asked her for one and she was kinda skeptical (seriously, what hairstylist would leave a tail for someone- it's just horrendous) and I ended up not growing a tail. I am so thankful that one of us had good judgment.

One look at Perla and you'll see why I've been getting my hair cut with her for over 15 years now. She has the uncanny ability (some call this fashion sense) to put ordinary items together and make them look super hip and fashionable. Perla does the same with my hair. I have flat, straight, (boring) hair and she always cuts it in a way that gives my hair volume and is easy to style (i'm lazy). Even when I am too busy to go in for a trim, my hairstyle grows out so nicely (every single time) that people think I've just gotten it cut.

...and so modestly priced! I've been to those snobby salons (I was living far from the bay area....so it's not cheating. I would never cheat on Perla) and my hair grew out uneven for three times Perla's price. Needless to say, I waited to see Perla during trips back up to the bay. And like all great hairstylists, she takes one look at a photo and knows exactly how to create it. She is so fun to talk to. Can't wait til my next Perla visit!

Perla is so awesome! I called her the day of and asked for an appt. She squeezed me in and I was 10m late. :( I had to wait a little for her to eat lunch and I was totally ok with it. I sat there looking through books to see how I wanted my hair cut. I showed her the pictures and she gave me exactly what I wanted.

I walked out with a new look and loved it! I am definately coming back and Perla will be my regular hair stylist. She is so nice and hip lOL ...

I have never had my own personal stylist, and based on the reviews I decided to give it a shot. I have to say, I came out feeling confident, and good about my layered hair! She didn't chop it off toooooo short, and she listens to exactly how you want your hair to look like. For a shampoo/wash + cut I paid $40 with tip which isn't bad at all. She is very professional at what she does, and is such a sweet person too. I highly recommend her, to everyone! She also took her time, which is what I appreciated. I was done in 1 hour, but it was very much worth it! I so needed this, thanks to Perla for making a difference in my confidence and for styling my hair!

Loved everything about Perla and how she cut and styled my hair. She was able to get me in on the same day and took time to go through pictures with me until I made my final decision. I have gotten so many compliments on my new cut. As long as I am in the Bay Area I will be going to Perla!!

Perla makes me look good. She immediately got what I wanted which was this Angled Bob cut. Now people complement me on my chic do. I can't wait for my 2 year old grand-daughter to grow up quickly enough so I can take her to Perla for her hair cut and styling!!!

I am not one of those people who has ever had a personal hair stylist, but I was going from really long hair to short and needed to see someone who knew what they were doing. I found Perla from reviews I read on yelp. Let me tell you, I have never loved a haircut so much as I love the one Perla gave me. She had me pick a few looks from magazines and set them in front so she can refer to them as she went along, she was very thorough and took her time to give me exactly what I wanted with some input from her I got a fabulous cut. Now needless to say, I am one of those people who has a personal stylist because I will definitely go back to her and refer all my friends and family. Thanks Yelp.
