Q:
What is the bar scene like (is there one at all) and will they bring you second rounds to the table or do you have to go to the counter and order each drink?
A:
I don’t think it is a bar scene. They don’t bring drinks to your table Great neighbor restaurant. Food is amazing. Neat environment!

We had a large party and they accommodated us well! The homemade pasta was fabulous! Very casual, but awesome food!

Been wanting to try this place out for awhile not and finally got the chance this week and I am so glad we did!
For drinks, I got the stubborn soda - they have an array of options and could change which one you got whenever you wanted to.
For food, I got the Amatriciana pasta - spicy and the pinsa bread and my friend got the pesto. The pasta was so fresh and delicious - I even brought leftovers home and my dad said it still tasted really good! The bread was fluffy but thin and was salty and spicy (asked to add chili flakes) and went perfectly with the pasta!
Highly recommend checking out!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Benton B.Nashville, TN01414Apr 21, 2024

My wife and I were at L&L market, super hungry. We almost missed it. The cat that owns NASHTN told us about this joint. Amazing food. The employees were great. We will be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11301Mar 1, 2024
Dining at Penne Pazze, I really felt like I flew to Italy to have dinner. The staff was amazing, the service was super quick and easy, and the food was even better! My family is Italian, so I usually have high expectations for Italian food, but this place exceeded my expectations! I will gladly be heading back here next time I am in the mood for some Italian food!

Food was not bad. Service was terrible, they gave my food to someone else, it came to me half eaten, I had to convince them to remake the food. They gave it to me while I had to leave. So I basically waited over an hour for my plate, and didn't have any kind of apology.

Whoa!!! This place is to die for!!
Walk in, pick your seat, order from the QR code on the table, and wait for your taste buds to be pleased! If you love Italian, this is a must stop!
The pasta and pizza were cooked perfectly, the sauce was amazing, the seasoning was just right, the tomatoes and prosciutto exploded with flavor, and even the soda flavors were delicious! The staff was ultra friendly, everything was clean, and the music had me dancing in my seat the whole meal! I can't wait to return!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - DN K.Fort Worth, TX0182Apr 21, 2024
PennePazze is the answer to my craving for an excellent meal. Each pasta is unique and crafted with its own unambiguously rich flavor! Their pizzas are one of the tastiest creations I've encountered in Nashville, and oh the panini.. whaat the panini !! Delicious! And I love their hot pepper oil available on the table for those who like it spicy. This is the real deal, and like their soda choice anticipate will be "Stubbornly" on my mind every time my taste buds start craving another outstanding meal. No need to think twice.. just go..and don't worry- whatever u order will be amazing...

Solely judging by the glowing user reviews on all platforms, PennePazze is the best Italian food in the Midstate area on paper. But did it measure up in person? After my visit, I can absolutely confirm the validity of this theory! Tucked away in the basement of the L & L shops - converted from a warehouse where I used to purchase my restaurant equipment - this gleaming space offers authentic cuisine, welcoming employees, and an easy ordering process.
Following atrocious experiences at North Italia and Valentino's, and the obvious disappointment at chains like Maggiano's and Amerigo's, PennePazze is easily the closest thing I've had to my experiences in Italy within the confines of Nashville! The freshness of all ingredients at this farm-to-table concept is evident in every dish and makes this a superior dining adventure!
The ordering process is easy and should serve as a model for all restaurants. You seat yourself at any long, communal table, scan the QR code, order and pay with your phone, and the food is made fresh and quickly arrives! It's so efficient!
The menu offers a wonderful array of pinsas, hand-pressed pizzas that have been popular in Italy for a century. The dough ferments longer than pizza dough, has a lighter texture thanks to all-purpose flour and higher water content, and is flattened into an elliptical shape rather than tossed into a circular one. The gourmet toppings range from cheeses like burrata and fresh mozzarella and meats like porchetta and pancetta to unique items like porcini mushrooms, arugula, onion jam, and honey.
After a few bites of the pinsa pazza, I boldly declared it one of the 20 best things you'll ever eat in Nashville! It's the first time I've edited that list in years! It was THAT good! Airy dough with a light amount of house-made tomato sauce supports chewy melted mozzarella, four dollops of fresh pesto, and a large ball of fresh mozzarella in the middle. It sounds so simple, but it is absolutely exquisite!
Tagliatelle and conchiglie are by far my two favorite types of pasta, and I was thrilled that each is utilized in the various pasta bowls at PennePazza. But I opted for the Nonna Paula, a dish featuring bell-shaped campanelle pasta. This is always served in Italy with a thick sauce, and indeed it came with a hearty, rich pesto. It was blended with four wonderful cheeses, roasted pine nuts to accent their subtle presence in the pesto, and the most tender sun-dried tomatoes I've ever eaten! While the pasta was wonderful, I'd still opt for the pinsas when I make my triumphant return to this glorious eatery!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 20233 check-ins
We had an excellent lunch here, with great food and a very friendly and helpful staff. They have gluten-free pasta available too.
While all the pastas looked incredible, I decided to try one of their Pinsa Romana options. These are similar to a pizza, and they offer a variety of different toppings. I opted for the Pinsa Maiala (pork), which includes salami, sausage, and porchetta. It was fantastic. The dough is pretty similar to a traditional Italian pizza, but a little more dense with a more interesting flavor. The toppings were excellent and flavorful.
My wife had the Campanelle Pazze, which includes roasted tomatoes, confit garlic, kalamata olives, and basil. The dish was delicious, with a generous portion. She substituted gluten-free pasta, and you would almost never know it wasn't regular pasta.
There's a QR code at each table, enabling you to place your order and pay your tab using your phone, but this isn't required. You can also go to the counter to place your order. And even though we opted to order and pay from my phone, the staff still checked in on us regularly to make sure we were having a good experience.
PennePazze is located in the L&L Market, which has a variety of great shops and restaurants. If you enter from within the mall you go downstairs and through a door to the back entrance, which felt a little weird. But you can also enter directly into the restaurant from the front entrance that faces Charlotte Avenue.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
