Peking Restaurant is excellent every time we order it. Consistently great food with a large menu. They're fast and accurate as well.

I simply love Chinese food. Doesn't matter if it's authentic (I've spent a bit of time in China), Americanized, or a hybrid...It's all good in my eyes.
When I lived in Lakewood (I moved from my house 12 years ago), Peking was my spot. I was back in The Wood for vacation and helped a friend move. Once I realized it was a mere block away, I had to run it back for old time's sake.
I opted for the General Tso's lunch special ($6.55 out the door) prepared extremely spicy. While it wasn't the Sichuan hot that I was hoping for (it is extremely rare to find an Americanized Chinese spot who will make food THAT hot), it def brought more heat than sweet. The lunch special doesn't come with an egg roll or soup, but at that price, can you blame them?
If you're looking for cheap, quality carryout in Lakewood, this is the spot. I felt that way back in 2010 and their food has certainly wishtood the test of time.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Timothy C.Euclid, OH32758Aug 6, 2022
Enjoyed takeout from Peking on July 28, 2022. We had never tried this restaurant, so we were looking forward to a treat. We were not disappointed, save one small misstep.
We ordered by phone and requested a family dinner for two. We also added one order of Crab Rangoon and one order of Fried Dumplings (Potstickers). The entrees we asked for were Sweet & Sour Pork and Beef Chow Mein. This is where we experienced the misstep. Arriving home and unboxing, we discovered our "Beef Chow Mein" was actually "Beef Lo Mein"! My wife was disappointed because she loves Beef Chow Mein with the crunchy noodles. Somehow the order got lost in translation.
At one time you only had to check your order before leaving the restaurant if ordering from a fast-food place. Today it is required at ALL restaurants. Pretty sad since our check reflects that the order taker got it right, but the chef did not. In defense of the chef, presumably the order taker usually bags the order. That person should have checked the order. The restaurant was not busy at 4:18 P.M.
The food was delicious, and the oversight will not keep us from visiting again. The servings were substantial with all containers filled. The price reflects the fact that this menu option does not include things like ribs, fried shrimps, etc.
Nicely packed, Wonton Soup in separate containers. Shrimp Chips are not included but are available in quart size Ziploc baggies for an additional charge. Thick, pork filled noodles were tasty. Flavorful broth that did not taste like it was simmering for two days. The Egg Rolls were crispy with all the right ingredients. They were prepared fresh and also were not "chewy" from sitting under a heat lamp. Same thing for the Crab Rangoon.
The Lo Mein was also tasty with tender onion and pieces of beef. My only gripe is the way many Chinese restaurants are preparing Sweet & Sour Pork (or Chicken) these days. Years ago, this order came prepared with pineapple, green pepper, onion and carrots along with the pork. Today, your order is served with oodles of pieces of pork and sweet sauce on the side. I guess people would rather eat just the meat. I'll take the old school version. Peking is no different. Keeping in mind my barometer over the years has been Chin's Red Dragon. If you are old enough to remember, you understand. Today you can count on one hand the number of places that serve it old school, and one of them just closed permanently.
A very nice, clean restaurant that we will try again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mariah Q.Lakewood, OH01Jun 23, 2023

I haven't reviewed anything in such a long time, but this spot just made me so mad! When I ordered I requested contactless delivery and that the driver not park in the driveway.
The driver parked in my neighbors driveway, stayed there and continued to ring my doorbell and pound on my door for 5 minutes until I could break away from my work to tell him to go away.
When I called the restaurant to explain how aggressive this was they were like "oh we must not have told him contactless".
I'm shook up, embarrassed, and now not so hungry. Would not recommend for delivery.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - Dec 12, 2019
We ordered delivery for four people last night, and the total came out to $32! Amazing price for dinner for that many, especially considering the generous portions mean we have lunch today. Everyone was happy with their choice, I especially loved the fried dumplings.
I only give four stars because I wish there were vegetarian options in the dinner combos. Except the option to just get mixed vegetables, everything saw on the combo plate menu was meat. Still, very happy with our dinner!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tara L.Cleveland, OH11Dec 16, 2022
I have been looking for a new Chinese restaurant to order from. I gambled on this tonight because it was open late. This is definitely my new spot. The dumplings are amazing! The dough was thin and they were made with pork, not chicken like most places do now. The crab rangoon you could actually taste the crab! The chicken and cashew nuts was so fresh and delicious. The eggrolls were great and the chinese donuts were delicious as well. Delivery was fast and everything was hot and fresh. It reminded me of the Chinese food we used to get in New York. I haven't had food like this in years. Very pleased!

Amazing dumplings and chicken wings. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that likes good Chinese takeout. The workers don't speak English that well so you might have to see things a few times for them to understand. You have to ask for napkins otherwise they will never give you any.

When I am too tired to cook for myself Peking provides for me deliciously, abundantly, and promptly. Thank you Peking.
Extra: One of my favorite leftover snacks is crisping up the fried rice in a pan with butter or oil adding some curry powder for extra flavor and serving it with a runny egg on top.
Also, love love love their egg rolls. If you know what you're ordering (as in you've eaten it before) you can't really go wrong on this menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
