When you are the ONLY tackle shop in Montauk you should at least be open. This place was closed around 11am. REALLY!!! Stood around waiting hoping someone would come along. Fisherman came by and left disappointed. No sign on the door, no hours posted on shop, no one answered calls to business line. Again, when you are the ONLY tackle shop in Montauk, you have a responsibility to be open during normal hours. I suggest not taking any chances and get your bait and tackle needs done before arriving in Montauk. Just saying
P.S. Bought clams on the half shell at local restaurant for bait. Had a great day of fishing anywayHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eric A.Gilgo Beach, NY01Feb 14, 2024
I've known Paul for 40+ years. He loves fishing and puts pride in his shop. I would highly reccommend Paulie's Tackle for your fishing needs.

Fantastic all purpose bait and tackle shop. Owner is super friendly and helpful. Had everything we needed.
The map is wrong though... address is correct but the sop is in town between the circle and the beach.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matthew C.Harrison, NY14661May 26, 2018
Proprietor lied to me and sold me the wrong equipment and tackle so that I wouldn't fish his waters.

Excellent place for bait. limited selection of tackle but the guy is super knowledgeable, pleasant and his advice is 'spot- on'. Highly recommended.

When in Montauk, go here. No attitudes, just great products, service and information. I learned so much from just walking around and keeping my ears open. Very friendly and helpful staff regardless if you are a beginner or a sharpie. This place has been consistent for decades. The front porch and parking area can resemble a sort of social club for fisherman at times and is really fun to meet some of Montauk's best and share anecdotes.

When you pull up the Paulie's the first thing you might ask is..."Is this a tackle shop or local hang out?" People hangout in groups outside of the shop because everyone loves the owners so much. They treat you with dignity and respect and have patience with you no matter how many questions you might have. This place beats Johnny's 10 fold. Fast and Friendly customer service, great people working there and they stock pretty much everything. They have great bait selections and during tournaments they are open all night for weigh ins.

Paulie knows his stuff, Friendly, personable, fast and very knowledgeable of local conditions and well respected in the surfcasting community for good reason. One of my first and last stops when fishing Montauk.

Awesome place.... Great items and even better service. Went there to ask a question and buy an item or two.... Ended up spending over $150 and loved every second of it. This should be the only shop to go to.

Great spot. Had been a customer of Johnnie's for years. I got tired of listening to his crap a few weeks ago and gave Paulie's a try. Serviced two Penn reels for me. Reasonably priced, work done quickly and well. Most importantly, he was friendly, happy to have the business and even told me to have a nice day. Johnny set the bar pretty low in Montauk. Never going back there.
Store is a little sparse in terms of what is stocked there if you are used to a big box tackle and supply store.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
