Are kids allowed in the piano bar?
A:
If you order food, you can be seated in the courtyard. Not the bar/patio bar.

Cannot recommend this place enough for drinks and live music! The courtyard is such a cool place as well to hang out. There is a ton of seating, so even on a Friday night you should be able to grab something. They are famous for their hurricanes and they didn't disappoint. I'll warn you, they are STRONG!
After drinks in the courtyard, we headed inside to the area with the dueling pianos. If you're not there early it's standing room, but we eventually snagged a table. Servers were attentive and the musicians were awesome! It was a fun night!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 17, 20241 check-in
This place came highly recommended for the hurricanes so it was a must try.
We each ordered a hurricane. They were tall and full and delicious! The best we had all trip! Came with this cute cup you can take home and walk the streets with.
Great vibes outside on the patio!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 20241 check-in
This place is apparently a staple. I don't drink or party (ever) so I'm not much on bar scenes but my hubs has been in town a ton of times and he loves this old skool bar and the dueling piano players.
It's larger than I expected with a beautiful outdoor patio area with it's own bar and small gift shop window selling their glasses for $5 with fountains and a bunch of tables and areas to stand around.
There is a smaller bar area where you can sit at the bar or a hightop table and then there is a restaurant and dining area where the dueling pianos are where you can sit at a table and a waiter in a nice, clean, green jacket will come and take your order.
The upstairs area was a surprise to me - it's like a ladies lounge with a huge sitting area with antique furniture, dual staircases leading up, and a large bathroom with a bunch of stalls and a vanity area to do makeup and check your hair. Nice!
We stayed for a few drinks and looked at the barware and saw some of the piano playing. Lively place and it was St. Patrick's Day weekend so they were buzzing, looked like a fun spot for dinner or to hang out. Right in the middle of the action.
Bartender was very good.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 20, 2024
A favorite oldie but goody. Constant flow of people and food wait staff was helpful. A couple under the influence. Fast fresh tasty food. Cocktails and beverages were good

Surprisingly, we had not been here before despite several NOLA trips. Our friend who was with us this time said Pat O'Brien's was a must stop on Bourbon, so we checked it out. After you get past the id check at the gates, it opens up into a beautiful lit up courtyard with two big bar areas and tvs that, on this day, were packed with spectators for the super bowl.
The bartender helped us to drinks right away, though sadly, we'd just missed the cutoff for snacks! We enjoyed just getting away from the craziness of Bourbon to sip our drinks, enjoy the light up fountain, and chat without all the street noise.
I also enjoyed going up the guarded spiral staircase to an upstairs ladies' room and a view of the courtyard. It was nice that they kept watch at the bottom of the stairs, felt a lot safer than the usual bar where you're off on your own down a dark corridor looking for the Loo.
Great spot, will return!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 18, 2024
A group of friends and I visited Pat O'Brien's during Mardi Gras in New Orleans (yes, we are crazy), and it was a nice little spot to find a seat and have a few drinks in a bustling atmosphere!
The vibe is super fun, with neon lights and a lit up fountain at the center. There are metal tables and seats (like for a patio) all around the courtyard.
During Mardi Gras, it can be a pretty tough time finding a spot to sit down somewhere because everywhere is so busy. So seeing the courtyard at O'Brien's with lots of seating was fabulous.
It may have been because there's a lot of people stopping and having one drink and then leaving, that there's a lot of turnover in seating (which is good).
Whether you're there for Mardi Gras or just visiting New Orleans for a fun trip, a stop at Pat O'Brien's is definitely a good choice!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 19, 20241 check-in
What a fun place!
Great staff! Especially the bartenders.

Quick dinner at the bar. Bartender was pleasant enough. He was basically in BS mode and told me about the museums and the park. Whatever.
Food was fast and for. Shrimp and rice. Nothing special and some ridiculous hurricane drink. Once was enough.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 210170859Feb 23, 20241 check-in
I mean. What can you say? Pat O'Brien's is a New Orleans classic, so it was our first stop when we got to town.
While we waited for a space on the patio, we stopped by the outdoor bar for our Hurricanes. Obviously.
And then we sipped and enjoyed the beautiful day.
We finally got a lovely table in the garden, and split jambalaya and a shrimp po-boy. It was the perfect amount of food for the moment, and we had a blast soaking it all in!
It was fun to return to a place I last visited over 20 years ago, and I'm so glad we stopped by!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 2024
The atmosphere here is fun and casual. With an outdoor patio. Bit, be sure to find the dueling piano bar ( a bit hidden but a gem) for some great raw talent. Service good. Prices differ for drinks depending on where you are patio vs dueling piano bar. . A bit higher in piano bar for the famous hurricane but it is tasty and strong. Sit back and enjoy the music of the piano or the ambiance of the patio. This place is a classic
