Okay, this has to be the most unprofessional businesses I have ever experienced. The "nurse" Lisa kept us waiting for an hour for vaccines without explanation and without apology. Save your money--the prices are outrageous and save your precious time. The worst pre travel experience ever.

I had to schedule a yellow fever vax last week for an upcoming trip to Belize, and my PCP said their office (through John Muir Network) could not provide it, but they referred me to this company. I was able to get an appointment scheduled for just a few days after my initial call, and even though the cost was pretty significant (about $300 for the shot and $95 for the office visit), the over-all experience and peace-of-mind having done it, was well-worth the fee.
If my primary care doctor can't arrange to have this shot, but can set up typhoid, polio, rabies, and many, many more, then I'm happy to pay extra for an out-of-network health care provider to give me a shot. I mean, I wish travelers got free shots upon request, especially while certain other 'vaccines' are being given out for free like candy, but... it is what it is.
I've traveled to Central America several times, including another trip earlier this year, and even visited Asia several times, all without getting suggested vaccinations or boosters, but this particular trip is in a remote area, and the group I'm volunteering with strongly recommended almost 10 different shots that I'm happy to get with anyone able to provide them.
Don't expect your insurance to cover travel vaccinations. It's kind of like an elective surgery. John Muir won't cover tittie enhancements either, so it's your choice to come here and pay for the shot. But I guess if your insurance does cover travel vax, you are lucky, according to my John Muir doctor. So go to your in-network doctor if you want to test your insurance. And if that's not the case, the office here is awesome.
The location is not hard to find, assuming you know how to read building numbers and use your phone's GPS. Maybe they've moved since other people have left their odd reviews about having to call for help locating the office. If you can't find a medical office in a business park in Pleasant Hill, perhaps traveling out the country isn't for you.
Finally, it was one of the least painful shots I've ever received. I even got a lollipop afterward for not crying (well, I got the lollipop because I asked if I could have one, but I wouldn't have asked had I cried when she administered my shot). :)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

Biggest rip off I have ever seen!!!!! They don't bill your Insurance, and wanted over $1,100 For EACH of Us!!! Other than a Typhoid Shot, I went to CVS Pharmacy and Got my T-DAP, Pneumonia, etc for Free! Buyers beware! PS the Nurse talked so fast I could hardly understand her

Thanks very much for your feedback. Sadly, as a doctor you likely know that most insurance providers do not cover travel vaccines as they are generally viewed as elective. It is frustrating for both the client and the healthcare provider. And while we regularly review pricing and are competitive, we are not always the least expensive option. But our deep inventory of hard-to-find vaccines as well as our first class service are two of many reasons why so many primary care physicians and discount chains refer their patients and customers to Passport Health every day. Thanks, again. Safe travels.

Website not up to date. Phone operators did not have up to date info either. Told I would get call back, never did. No way to contact the clinic that you would like to visit

Passport Health in general is a Ripoff scam that sucks money out of you. I changed my Travel Health considerations to a local hospital which is way better and costs much less.

Thanks for your feedback. In nearly 30 years of practicing travel medicine, Passport Health has helped keep countless global travelers healthy while offering first class, concierge medical care not often found at other providers. Our medical teams specialize in travel medicine, have accumulated decades of combined targeted training and experience in global travel health and operate in wellness environments designed to prevent disease rather than in facilities offering treatment for illness and injury. Sure, you can sometimes go elsewhere and save a couple of bucks. But our highest obligation is to our clients and our processes are designed to ensure the investment people are making in themselves when they travel abroad is not lost to an otherwise preventable tropical illness. Thanks, again, for reaching out.

URGENT: READ THIS REVIEW
i am writing this July 12, 2019 from La Paz, Bolivia. First of all, please check that you actually need a vaccine to enter the country. These locations will not tell you. They wanted over $300 for a yellow fever vaccine. Guess what? I got it at a modern, private clinic here for $63, 10 year certificate of health included. Passport tells you it's because there is a shortage of the vaccine. If you believe that...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vanessa L.San Carlos, CA713836Oct 7, 2019
This clinic "seems" knowledgable however certainly preys on elderly & is not intended for anyone with Medicare Prescription Part D Plan as they will take advantage of the elder patient and require them to pay exorbitant costs for travel vaccines rather than sending them to Rite Aid that offers various vaccines covered through Part D benefit. My dad paid $130 for a vaccine at Passport Health, when that vaccine is covered by Part D & would have only cost $20!!!!
Warning to anyone to check with your insurance first and find a doctor who knows about travel vaccines & also ensure your plan covers your vaccines.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pamela B.Seattle, WA09Nov 15, 2021
Rude receptionist...which was a good thing- because COSTCO Pharmacy has the same service for vaccination review and administration for $39.99 AND they had openings within 1 week.

Thanks very much for your feedback. We are proud to offer not only vaccinations to protect travelers from tropical disease, but also an education on maintaining health and safety while adventuring abroad. While we're not always the least expensive option, our expert medical teams have been practicing travel medicine for nearly 30 years and offer first class service not usually found at warehouse clubs. Thanks, again. Safe travels!

Scheduled an appointment, it all went well but ran into a problem when canceling. I got my insurance to cover my travel medicine so I didn't need the appointment, but now I'm told I have to pay these guy's $50 for no services performed. They auto-charged me, took my money anyways. I will be avoiding these guys in the future like the plague, they are thieves and someone needs medicine for places like this. DO NOT USE THEM, chances are they will screw you in some way as the did me. Wish I had read more reviews because it looks like the only thing they care about is the money in your pocket.
If you've ignored these reviews and got screwed, be sure to post bad reviews of them as the rest of us have; it'll help others avoid the trap that is this "clinic".Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elaine B.Martinez, CA5121Oct 2, 2019
This was one of the worst experiences I've had. I want an advice as to whether I needed any shots before going to Vietnam and Cambodia, but my doctor didn't know and was much too busy to do all that research so he referred me 2 a host of places called passport Health. So I went to one and what a scam and rip off.they had info from some government agency that if I was going to that part of the world that I needed to get a Typhoid shot? And a malaria shot! Good grief I'm not going to the jungles. I'm going on a tour. Oh I want when I went in there was advice , but the minute this woman open her mouth I owed her $50 for that. I got so disgusted I said I don't need any of your shots paid my $50 and left the place

Charging high prices for a supposed "shortage" of yellow fever vaccines....$250 PLUS $80 for office fees! RIPPING OFF THE CONSUMER!
