Where to go for a picnic when you are a group of fifteen persons with kids, babys in need of shade for their fragile skin, guys willing to play football or badminton? Not far from the tram and the metro is the parc de Gerland. I live close to the parc but I've always been to the parc de la tête d'or. And now I know what I missed during one year! The parc de Gerland offers everything you might want for a family&friends picnic: big trees offering their shade, picnic tables if you prefer to not seat on the ground, games for kids, huge area to lie in the grass and get tanned, a sportive area, a roller area, a small mere with some ducks... And what amazed me the most: there was so much free space! A sunny Sunday afternoon! (That means no queue to the toilets, unlike the parc de la tête d'or.) I will definitively plan to go there for my future picnics this summer!
