Panchito's Mexican Restaurant

So this was my first visit to Panchito's.

As I first walked in the restaurant there wasn't a host at the door. A bus boy however offered to help
and went to get a manager. (I applaud that behavior). Then as I was eating. Jose the general manager stopped and touched the table. I noticed he did so with others as well which is a good sign. My server Augustin was very pleasant and on point too. The fajitas were great as was the margarita. The restaurant in its self is a bit older. Very clean however. My only disappointment was that they don't have a bar in which to sit. I am out and about a lot and prefer to sit at a bar as opposed to a table by myself. I also think it helps to increase revenue. They do have a full bar but it's a service bar only.
In closing I will also mention that the employees all seemed upbeat. As I was walking to the restroom, one of the servers looked at me and smiled and said hello. To me in particular, that is just a great sign of happy employees, good management and ownership. And if I'm to be honest, I've been in the business for years. And I am always happy to see a great staff. ;)

Went for happy hour and what a great drink selection they have!!! We were planning on eating a full plate but the appetizer were way too much food to need a full entree (is that bad- probably not!). Meat in both the Empanadas and nachos was so flavorful!!! The breading of the Empanadas was delicious! Staff so attentive and friendly! You always feel like family when you dine here!!!

Came in for lunch at noon on a Saturday and were seated quickly for a family of 5. Food comes out super quick! I haven't been to Panchitos in forever, but it's just as good as I remember. I love the salsa that comes with the chips for the table. More of a charred dark brown salsa that I love. The puffy tacos were soooo good! I could only finish one. I'd recommend to share the plate if you aren't super hungry because they are best to eat when freshly made. They will get soggy if you let them sit too long. Or maybe out the second taco over a napkin so it absorbs the moisture. Our waitress was very sweet and patient. Our sopapillas came out kind of burnt and very greasy, so we had them returned and received a much better batch. Very yummy!

Parrot tails! Yep, that's right, come on in for a parrot tail. It's a delightful, pinkish tequila drink that will have you shaking your butt like a parrot tail. Pair it with the poquito de todo or some empanadas to keep from dancing on the tables. Their fideo Loco is always seasoned just right as well. Playa margaritas are my favorites, but they are never on happy hour.

After a long travel day stopped in for a bite at our local favorite. The waitress was nice and polite. The order was slightly messed up but the food and atmosphere was superb. We got our drinks with a basket of chips and warm roasted red salsa, perfect! My husband had a carne guisada taco, nachos, our daughter and the quesadillas with rice and I a puffy taco plate with ground meat. All the food was delicious and had so much flavor

I've been coming here since I was a kid and the flavors have always remained the same. So good and filling, you will be taking a long nap after eating the enchilada plate. Great place for dinner with the family or to catch up with a friend.

Had them deliver a 20 person fajita pack to a family event. Incredible beef and chicken fajitas, amazing hot sauces, great guacamole, chips, and tons of flour tortillas. Everyone was there and we still had food left over for the next day. Would highly recommend for delivery.

We went here after visiting the zoo. The service we received by Irma was outstanding. The food was average but the tortillas were great. I enjoyed my tacos and my grandson loved his refried beans! He scarfed them up. The salsa was average. I wouldn't go out of the way for this place. It's your typical Mexican restaurant

Had dinner here last week with my friend and I was impressed. On a Friday, it was packed but we were seated immediately in a booth. Service, food, and prices were very good. I had the puffy tacos with refried beans and rice. I also asked for some corn tortillas. Portion was big so I took half home. Very nice atmosphere and the bathroom was clean! First time visit but will go again and take family.

Coming from Indiana to vacation in San Antonio and we knew we were going to get some bomb @$$ Mexican. My best friend's mom recommended this local place and we knew we needed to check it out. The food was so good! We all ordered something different and tried each others meals. I ordered the caldo de pollo and it was really pretty fantastic. Also ordered in our group was the chicken mole, carne guisado, puffy tacos, enchiladas verdes, enchiladas con carne, and a cheese quesadilla. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! We had a big party, so I'll give the server a break, but our drinks were empty most of the meal despite asking a couple times for more waters/soda. Honestly, it was the only issue we experienced!
