Well we used to like going to this place, the food quality of quite good and a good selection of draft beers. But the teenagers sitting around Vaping and stinking up the place has made me consider never returning to this establishment. When we asked the manager why kids were vaping he said it was perfectly fine. Well we usually spent $80.00-$90.00 per visit let's see what teenagers spending $2.00 on a cola cola and a table of 4 sharing an order of French Fries does for your bottom line. We won't be returning
Poor management and even worse food. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. Do not waste your money.
No wonder this place was empty at 5 on a Saturday night. They have a great beer selection and the bartender was amazing, but the food left a lot to be desired. Salad was sent back 3 times for wrong ingredients. Then the steak was sent back 3 times for being too well done and then being rare (must be hard to grill a medium steak). The manager was brought over because of this and said she would make it right. She took $1 dollar.......$1 dollar.... off of the $25 dollar steak! Used to be good, won't be coming back.
Disgusting restaurant. Dirty interior. Cold, tasteless food. Unfriendly staff.
Stopped in to watch bowl game and have some lunch. Food was great, portions perfect, nice and warm. I think others may have been scared away by reviews but we had a great experience. I have never had an issue with a food order there.
This sports bar is one of the best in town when it comes to service and professionalism. The menu also has a great selection from seafood to regular bar food.(Burgers, nachos, ECT) The bartenders are very courteous and kind, greeting you when you sit down and fast drink service. The craft beer selection is great with over 30 beers on tap, and plenty of liquor to meet your needs as well!(I am not much of a liquor drinker) If you are staying at one of the hotels nearby or just live in Greenville, it's definitely one of the better places to check out, or come back to. I do not sit at tables at mostly any restaurant so this is all based off bar experience. Nic and his bar staff are well trained and genuinely would love to serve you!
If possible I would have given this a 0 Star although the service wasn't horrible. The first server who started to wait on us was swapped with a second server who lied to us about the reason they swapped (he said the first server was going home for the day although she continued to wait in the table next to us for our entire visit). So we ordered the $23 steak and rib combo. We ordered the steak medium rare and when it was served it was well done and tiny and there was hardly any meat on the ribs. The onion rings we ordered (since the potatoes weren't ready) were fair but nothing to brag about. Overall we were very disappointed in our visit.
Good place for college football and beer. I stop in often because I live so close by. The food seems hit or miss, though. This is one of those rare places where sometimes you have to refuse the food and watch them throw it in the trash. The beer list isn't huge but the selections they have on tap are old favorites along with good craft brew picks. They recently increased their prices, though. Now prices are more in line with the other alehouses. I usually sit at the bar and get good service since it is rarely crowded. The bartenders aren't particularly friendly, but they get it done. I will confirm some of the other posts as the men's bathroom floor is not often as clean as one would hope. You have to be careful where you step. Oh, and don't expect NFL games at this sports bar. The owner got real upset with players kneeling and pulled all NFL programming. Now the wait staff all wear shirts that say 'I Will Stand' with the silhouette of a soldier at attention. Frankly, it all seems a bit ridiculous, but here we are.
Was down visiting friends for the weekend and they suggested a sports bar - they're predictable and we were hungry so we gave this place a shot. The food was bad - I couldn't finish it (dry veggie burger and burnt-tasting fries) and that's not like me. The service was okay but they seemed like they hated being at work. Then when people were talking about the owner being anti-American I knew we made a mistake coming here. We really should have checked the Yelp reviews first - why is this place still open? A sports bar that won't put football on the TVs because the owner hates free speech? Maybe if he focused on the food and a better business model there'd be some success here. Oh well, with so many other great places right near by, I won't be back when I'm visiting friends.
Great service, nice atmosphere and the flounder was as good if not better than you would get at the coast! SC Proud!
Really bland and tasteless food. There were bits of plastic in my shrimp basket, so my guess is that seafood isnt fresh. The bathrooms could use some attention. I noticed a smear of fecal matter on the wall...imagine what the kitchen must look like?? Also observed employees leave said bathroom without washing their hands. Wont be returning and will not recommend to friends. I am also planning to alert the local health department.
A few of our friends went into this restaurant at approximately 9:45 pm on 3/19/19. The server that was assigned to our table was very rude. She didn't refill our drinks we had to get the bartender to do it. After being ignored we decided to pay for our drinks and go some place else. As we ask the bartender for our check because our server was no where to be found the server came to the table to inform us that our food would be out shortly. She insisted that our food was ready to come out and we insisted that we didn't want it. We compromised and ask for it to go. The kicker is I'm am a server for about 25?yrs now and I always make sure the server gets way more than 20% all the time because I understand the food service business. I also know how to fake smile when having a bad day and not take it out on my customers because that's how the money is made. The food we took Togo was terrible. I hope this chic gets her crap together or finds another job.the whole experience sucked
Looking for a place to watch some games on TV with my group (8 guys), we stopped at Palmetto Restaurant & Ale House. It was the worst choice we could have made. The servers were inattentive, the beer orders got mixed up, they were out of many items on their menu and, to top it off, I found a cockroach in my salad. The server took it away and brought me another salad...BUT, IT WAS THE SAME SALAD BUT WITHOUT THE ROACH! This was our first...and, definitely LAST visit to Palmetto Restaurant and Ale House. Save yourself grief: go somewhere else. ANYwhere else! Ick!
Food is nasty and owner treats his black patrons worse than animals. This place should be closed down.
Pretty good for Bar food. Husband had wings which he said were tasty. Son had a burger which was ordinary. I had the artichoke spinach dip which was very good, but there wasn't enough of it. I will probably return, and give it another go.
The food is bland, soggy, and greasy. Nothing we have ever ordered was notably good. There are tons of much better places to eat in the area. Don't waste your money or time here.
By far just aweful. Would love to rate the food but 2 times now been unable to order. Being a hotelier it is frustrating to see just unacceptable people trying to run a business. But I guess the riftfraft that comes in here keeps it afloat.
Conor was really nice. She advised that they only had fried foods at that time of the night. We followed her advice and had the shrimp tacos which had a crispy shell, shrimp, blue cheese and coleslaw with a spicy (not too spicy) sauce drizzled over it. We also had the hummus three ways-Black bean, original and roasted red pepper. The warm peppered pita chips were WONDERFUL and she gave us more. I brought those home. I will have to remember this spot, when coming back this way.
The food is the worse tasting food I've ever had. It has no flavor, and is over cooked. I complained to the waitress and she just took it in stride. No offer to correct the issues. Try any place else or save your money and don't go here.
I loved this spot, I live in Las Vegas Nevada. This spot was recommended by my hotel Hampton inn. Maybe it doesn't take much to impress since I'm from Vegas? Everything I don't get in Vegas I got here. Server was on perfect, I asked what was a good IPA? She responded I have no idea but I'll ask. Ten seconds later she responded with 2 suggestions. Picked one and it was perfect. I had the best sandwich in a while and it was just $10. (Amazing) and I went on a Monday.
