We got the 18oz center cut sirloin and it was cooked to perfection. Best steak we have had this year. We always get a blooming onion appetizer and are never disappointed. Our server was excellent. The only thing I never enjoy when I eat here is the music playing. It is usually too loud and obnoxious. Doesn't suit the meal. Overall it was an excellent experience.

This rating is the highest because the service, the food and the prices were all great. We were greeted by a very friendly, kind gentleman at the door. He sat us in Monica's area and she was
exceptionally attentive and efficient. The steaks were all seasoned & cooked perfectly. The bread was hot, soft and delicious. Monica was so pleasant & friendly...this makes a big difference
with the whole dinner experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - April T.Asheville, NC05Dec 12, 2023
On a not very busy Tuesday night (maybe 15 tables and plenty of staff present on the floor) at 8 PM, it took 10 minutes for staff to take our order. We ordered a bowl of baked potato soup & blue cheese pecan salad with mixed greens and a side chicken breast. It took another 20 minutes, for the most shallow "bowl" of baked potato soup I have ever seen in a restaurant to arrive. Soup had crunchy potato, mixed with the ok cooked potato, in every bite. This was a $7.99 bowl/cup that presented nicely until you realized there were about 14 total bites in this. But they were crunchy, so that made it better, right? No
The pecan/blue cheese salad had not one piece of crumbled blue cheese you could see with your eye. Additionally, the saddest pieces of iceberg lettuce I have ever seen outside of a dumpster. I asked the runner (who delivered our food) if this was the salad I had ordered because it was to have spring mix and blue cheese. He replied the spring mix was iceberg and Radicchio. I asked is this was spring mix ( on the menu) he said this is all we have. When I asked about the blue cheese, he said, "it has been mixed in with the salad. If you would like more, I can bring you some more." I agreed. While I was waited, I looked fruitlessly for even one piece of blue cheese in my existing salad. There was none. This was a slimy, unappetizing mess. When he returned with a small plastic cup of blue cheese, I asked him to remove the salad and he did so. The only bright note in the meal was the blandly seasoned chicken breast that I ate 100% of. I was so grateful for those seven thin strips of chicken. Finished this "meal" in about 4 minutes. Our waitress walked by multiple times after the chicken plate was licked clean and did not offer up a check. After another 10 minutes she brought the machine ready with check that needed signing, but no pen. This meal was $4 tea, $5 chicken ( less than you get on Chick Fil A biscuit) and 7.99 "bowl" of baked and crunchy potato soup. Grand total of $17 for worst restaurant meal in decades, maybe ever. That is an hour of my life I will never get back. My sweet table mate did leave a greater than 25% cash tip on the table.
I came home and ate homemade delicious shepherds pie leftovers.
Never again would I order take out or dine in at this establishment. I am a local and Asheville offers MANY other choices tasty choices. Find one.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are new to the area(6 months)and decided to give it a try.We lived in Memphis and their Outback removed the wedge salad from their menu.
We were pleased that you still have this salad and it was delicious. The margarita was very good. The coconut shrimp was disappointing with way too much breading.(will not order it again)Our steaks were good and to the temperature we requested. My baked potato must have been in the kitchen for a while. It was luke warm and overdone. The mashed potatoes were barely warm. The wait staff was very nice but didn't check on how the food was.
BTW it would be nice to have warm water to wash your hands.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We had a really great dinner at the Outback Steakhouse. We each took advantage of the special that's going on by getting the 8oz sirloin and a lobster tail. Both of us also chose the loaded baked potato and the broccoli. Everything was so good! Our server Tom did an excellent job with everything. A big thank you to manager Tony for stopping by to chat and make sure our dining experience was a great one!

Kathey chose the 8oz sirloin with spicy shrimp, a loaded baked potato and some broccoli. I chose the Alice Springs chicken with mashed potatoes and the broccoli. The food was so good! We always get a great meal and excellent service here. Our server Tom did a super job with everything. A huge thank you to manager Jason for stopping by and making sure our dining experience was a really good one.
Jul 25, 2021Previous reviewAll I can say is wow! We went to the Outback for a pre birthday dinner and we enjoyed a really great meal. My wife Kathey chose the lobster tails with a loaded baked potato while my choice was the bourbon glaze NY strip and some coconut shrimp also with a loaded baked potato. We both got the broccoli, which is always cooked to perfection. Everything was fantastic and the bourbon glaze was amazing and their coconut shrimp is the best! I found out that you can get that glaze on any steak so that will be a new option for me in future visits. An excellent dining experience at the Outback and our server Tom did a super job with it all!
Jun 27, 2021Previous reviewWe enjoyed a great dinner at the Outback Steakhouse in Asheville. My wife started with a salad while I chose the French onion soup. After that, Kathey ordered the "limited time only" steak and shrimp pasta in an Alfredo sauce. I decided to try the new menu item, pork medallions and pineapple with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The medallions had a savory pineapple glaze that titillated the taste buds. We shared the butter cake with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. Our server Dana did a great job with it all.
May 25, 2020Previous reviewWhat a great time at the Outback! It was so great to dine inside after not having that available since this pandemic began. We both got the 9oz sirloin. I got the Aussie fries and broccoli while my wife got the loaded baked potato and the house salad. We also got the coconut shrimp appetizer. Our server Jesse did an awesome job!
Nov 25, 2019Previous reviewNot a great experience this time. We stopped in for the 4 course dinner. I got the salad, French onion soup, chicken Barbie and the cheesecake. My wife chose the salad, clam chowder, grilled sirloin and the cheesecake. The first two courses came to our table together and were followed by the main course before we got to finish the first course. That made the main course less than hot and not as good as it should have been. The French onion soup We ended up taking the final course home with uswas very tasty and flavorful but there was far too much cheese on top and it formed a melted mass, with the bread underneath, that made it extremely difficult to cut into bite size, manageable pieces. Instead it left a molded, stretchy mess. Our server Breanna did a good job considering the circumstances. Hopefully our next visit will be much better.
Nov 24, 2019Previous reviewTasted the new menu items with the Yelp Elite group. Everything, from the Aussie Bloom to the Great Big Sirloin to the Great Barrier Combo and the Chocolate Cake were fantastic! The flavors in the new menu items along with the two new drinks (the Sparkler and the Patriot, of which $1.00 from each drink sold goes to help the veterans in need) have your taste buds doing the Cha Cha in your mouth! Absolutely wonderful new menu items. We are definitely going back again very soon

Placed a pick up order & was told it would be ready in "30". There were no open parking spots for pick up orders, just a lonngggg line of cars waiting to get their orders. Got a text before I left the house that my order was "almost ready", and 1 hour later, no new updates. Sitting in a line with 6 cars ahead of me and one man was getting names & bringing an order out one at a time. When I called to see if my order was even ready, I was told to come inside and get it myself, but I was locked in a car line and could not abandon my car in the line. Customers who ate inside were also getting blocked in by the pick up line when they tried to leave. My food was cold. The pasta noodles were dried out & very little alfredo sauce. And I don't know what was up with that "steak" --- it looked like hamburger. The side order of brussell sprouts was soaking in an inch of oil --- that was a waste of $6.99. I was hungry and really anticipating this meal would taste good--but it was $40 down the drain. Never again! DO NOT go thru the pick up line on a Friday night--lesson learned ! Cold, dried out food that did not taste good at all! Very disappointed in Outback! Outback is overrated. (but not in my review!)

Ate here last Friday, our server was wonderful however I don't recall his name off the top of my head. He was very welcoming, attentive, and nice. Food came out quickly both appetizers and main courses. I had the margarita boomerang and enjoyed the opportunity to taste four types. And then of course the wallaby darned my personal peach favorite. The lobster tails were great along with Brussels and mashed potatoes. We enjoyed a free onion blooming onion with my friends rewards on the app, and also got the cheese fries, both great. Just wish they layered the cheese throughout the fries instead of just on top, because eventually you eat the cheese layer and then just have fries. That's pretty common across the board for restaurants though. So far, I've never had a bad experience here. The only negative was I could not join the wait-list on the app, it kept making me go in circles choosing my location and then never actually allowing me to get on a list. This would have saved us some wait time. I'm sure that's out of the control of the location though, definitely a Outback corp issue with their app.

Great Food and Great service from our waiter Michael. Went there for lunch with my grandmother the other day had steaks and loaded baked potatoes and spent less than $30 for two people to enjoy a good meal. The ambience was nice. But other than that overall it was a lovely place to go for lunch. Will definitely be back again.

This restaurant deserves a 5 star I'm not sure why it has a 3 but fast serve, friendly, we had 3 steaks at our table all ordered different and all cooked correctly. Give them a try. We ate outside and enjoyed it.
