I would definitely say, Oscar has the best taco in California.
If this is your first time coming to Oscar , you must try the Optimus taco. This is very unique and taste amazing.
The service was not outstanding, but definitely acceptable.
Also, since this is the first location, fishing is not as good as the other two location. If you want to have better seating, you should go to the other one. This place it's a little bit dirty. However, despite all these, the food made it 5 stars
The parking it's a little bit hard to fine because they don't have a parking lot only street parking. - Buzzy H.Tucson, AZ102355/10/2023
Four stars only because parking is a PAIN. We drove around for 15 mins until a spot opened up and it was worth it!
I'm a ceviche fanatic and was thrilled to enjoy my giant, incredible cup of lime infused seafood and pico. The tacos were great as well and we especially enjoyed trying grilled octopus.
Our dog didn't love that there wasn't an easy place for him to be by us without being in the way of other customers.. BUT he loved all the attention he got from other patrons so ya win some, ya lose some. - WileyPalm Springs C.Rancho Mirage, CA6155155/8/2023
Not a fancy place., but not a fancy price.
Value.
Shrimp taco and the sauce was tasty.
Fish Taco almost as good.
Does not beat Mitch's ambiance and taste and value - 42412955/23/2023
Very good tacos. I was a bit disappointed by the battered fish and batter shrimp tacos. They were really greasy compared to other fried fish tacos I have had. It may have just been really busy and they didn't take the fried seafood out in time so it got over fried. The taco especial and grilled octopus tacos were really good! Take it to go and eat at the nearby beach!

Definitely a must if you want fresh seafood tacos! I'd recommend ordering ahead for a quick pick-up and eating it at the benches overlooking the beach nearby. The tacos were pretty large, so 2 was a good portion!
I ordered the especial and battered fish taco. My favorite by far was the especial taco - it had an assortment of grilled fish and so many veggies and avocado! Even though the portion was heavy, it didn't feel too heavy because of all the veggies! The fish tasted so fresh! The battered fish was also really good - the fish was really crispy and not too oily! - 2322145612293/26/2023
I had heard about Oscar's for years and finally visited when I had a friend staying in town who wanted some seafood tacos. Oscar's definitely lived up the hype! It makes up for being a literal hold-in-the-wall with its amazing food. I picked a battered fish and skirt steak taco with a side of rice. Both tacos come with cabbage and onion, but I skipped those toppings. The steak had huge chunks of avocado, tomato, cheese and cilantro while the fish had tomato and cilantro. There were several sauces to choose from but I preferred the white sauce. It was spicier than I anticipated though so I'd recommend starting slow if you're not a big fan of spice, like me. The rice was perfect, just the way I like it with no veggies to pick around.
There's only a few outside tables here so be prepared to possibly take your tacos to go. - 3972484852/28/2023
I first came to this location 11 years ago on my last trip to San Diego. I will never forget the owner insisting that his food was the best - and how delicious it was.
I finally made it back and found that it has 3 locations now, and still as delicious as ever. I got the smoked fish/scallops combo taco and the octopus taco. I met 3 fellows travelers and raved about this place to them, as they were debating whether to stay based on the lack on indoor seating/small space. The server ended up getting us free fish stew and 2 orders of tuna and mixed ceviche with chips. Everything was delicious and the fellow travelers were glad they came here. A mix of locals came in for takeout while we were here, too.
Love this place and may it last forever. - 131158365404/25/2023
Food was wonderful. But first, Oscars is a no frills, no sign, no indoor dining room experience. Pets are allowed. You carry out or sit at an old food stained wooden counter outside on the sidewalk. Order inside a cubby room and pay. When your order is ready a person yells out your number through a cubby window. We ordered octopus tacos and grilled fish tacos. Delicious. The mixed fish crevice was fresh and tasty in the acidic juice. Fried tortillas came with it. Will probably come again when we're in town as the food was wonderful. And the old counter was crowded.

Easy ordering, quick service, outdoor seating. Smoked fish taco was absolutely delicious. Their orange sauce is SO flavorful and the perfect condiment. Steak and shrimp ("surf and turf") taco was less successful, steak had no char and was pretty bland. We were visiting and tried a different fish taco every day: Oscars' smoked fish was a strong contender.
