Orinda Auto Detail

I have been here three times for a "mini detailing." This includes about the same services as a full service wash at competing places in Lafayette and Walnut Creek. Prices have been about the same too. But the quality and attention to detail has been far superior! Our cars have been returned spotless, inside and out. Unlike those other places, I have never had to ask them to redo a spot they've missed or do a better job vacuuming out dog hair. I noticed their employees seem less rushed, and seem to be paying attention to good quality work. Tara, the manager, has been great to deal with.

Convenient drop off and proximity to Theater Square lets me stay productive, run errands, or have a snack or lunch while I wait.

Both owner and Tara reached out and were eager to make things right for me. They acknowledge me as a customer. They acknowledged that it was an oversight on their end not cleaning the door jambs and the wax residue spots left on my car. They apologized and they want me to bring my car back for a redo. I obliged and I was not disappointed this time around.

I schedule to return my car today. Just like the last time, I dropped off my STI in the morning on my way to work. And I returned to pick up the car at the end of my work day.

Upon arrival, Tara went over the car with me. She ensured that the doors jambs were cleaned. No wax residue was left on the car. She even have me pull up near the shop so that she can dust off the car as my car has been seating outside waiting for me to pick up. Tara noticed a couple minor things that she immediately took care of on the spot.

I inspected the car myself and I am happy to say that this was the job I had come to expect from the beginning. Granted it took twice to get it right; but the fact they reached out, apologized, and they want to make things right really show that they care about their customer's satisfaction. This is something I can always appreciate from a business establishment.

Thank you Tara for taking care of my STI while she's in your care. A solid 4-star (hoping to give 5-star next time)! I would not hesitate to return to Orinda Auto Detail.

I really like this place as a car wash.

Excellent customer service, the fact you have to take an appointment is a huge plus, you don't have to wait in line. To kill the time, the strip of retail stores, cafe and restaurants is just perfect.

Took my white Tesla Model S up to Joe, Hugo, and the team and they did an amazing job opticoating it and putting a full Xpel kit on. The car came back looking better than how it came out of the factory, in addition to them polishing out a scrape across the back bumper that I must have acquired from a parking lot.

In reality, I've taken my Model S to them several times now for various issues and they have been nothing but helpful and have done great work. They will go out of their way to help and always stand by (literally) every inch of their work. Case and point: Joe once came all the way down from Orinda to San Jose (where I work) on his day off to take care of a concern I had over the car. Joe will always offer the free follow up car wash to check over things again a week later (showing his care for detail), and after he's done any work on it he always lets me know that if I see anything out of the ordinary to just let him know and he'll take care of it.

If you want a shop that does good work and stands by every inch of work they do, take it to Orinda Auto Detail. Even if it's out of the way (I'm in Palo Alto).

It's been over a month and the OptiCoat Pro Joe did for me is still going strong! I went in later on for a check up and he did an amazing job inspecting it making sure the product is working properly.

I highly recommend you give Joe a call and make an appointment. If you love your car being clean, these guys are doing it right! I took a picture as well after rinse less washing the car (thanks Joe for teaching me)!

Had Opti-Coat Pro Plus done by Orinda Auto Detail. Worked with Tara who is amazingly knowledgeable about car care and one of the most customer-service oriented person you will ever meet. The Opti-Coat Pro+ came out really nice and it was clear the team took their time to do an outstanding job.

This place is A+ across the board!

Tara! What an amazing lady. Orinda Auto Detail earns their Yelp! rating. I went to them to get an SUV coated with Opti-Coat Pro Plus. Tara is a comfortingly clear communicator. She received my truck, logged the VIN and odometer reading, explained the coating process, and told me when I could pick the vehicle up from them three days later.

They thoroughly detailed the vehicle, even inside although I didn't expect that, and the coating still looks fantastic despite a drive across the country that began a few days later. I would definitely take my other cars to Tara if I still lived in the East Bay!

Water spots and swirl marks on my brand new Lexus GS FSport. They washed it twice and are the only ones to have washed it so far. The owner pointed out the water spots but told me to buy some water spot remover?! I drove it to the dealer and they took care of it in 30 minutes for free. And the dealership pointed out that my rear carpets had been gouged with deep grooves left in both of them. I purchased new ones. Be careful with this place. I will not be back.

Found this place through yelp of course and I gave them a call to find out about prices and drop ins. It's based by appointment only which is nice. I made an appointment for that same day. The lady on the phone was kind and informative. I wanted my car to be cleaned mainly from the inside it was very dirty. I don't think I've even taken my car to a detail car wash. I was also wanting to pay no more than $45 for a wash. I did the mini detailing with wash in/out for $44 and I received my car an hour later. I was more than pleased with my car It was squeaky clean! I will definitely be bringing my car here again!

Where do I start with the accolades for these amazing professionals?

First an apology to Hugo and the great guys and gals at Orinda for taking too long to write this review. Now to the good stuff -

I took our new Porsche Cayenne to them last summer for Opticoat. Since the car was white and new, I didn't expect much transformation. Wrong. The car came out looking better than new - with the metallic white showing a perfect luster. After nearly a year, the Opticoat is performing flawlessly.

Now for the challenge. I took my 8 year old Lexus in to see what they could do, and of course it is black.I felt the paint was in good shape as it has always been garaged, but really just wanted to preserve what was there with an Opticoat application. I went to pick the car up and I was amazed that the paint had been corrected to better than new. Unbelievable. This the most important part that some may skimp over - the paint correction. Others may offer to apply Opticoat at a lower price but I can PROMISE you, if the paint is not corrected to it's fullest potential first, you're throwing your money away on the Opticoat. You might as well wax a dirty car.

Now on to the integrity of Hugo and the crew.

Hugo does a complimentary wash and QC check about a week after the application. In the case of the Porsche, everything was perfect as expected. The QC on the Lexus revealed that the Opticoat didn't quite meet with Hugo's exacting standards, so he started from scratch and redid the entire car taking two additional days. Why is this a great thing? Because I would have likely never known the difference! Someone with less integrity could have easily said "looks great, you're good to go" and I would have been on my way. Not Hugo. He insisted on starting from step one, with a full paint correction and re-application of the Opticoat to ensure a perfect product. Wow.
