Love my 007 and bmw rolls... spicy tuna rolls are also awesome with a realistic price! Food doesn't take long either. Overall awesome place.

Stopped in on a slow Thursday night. Excellent night for Omakase and it was wonderful. Lovely sashimi appetizer with pesto sauce. The salmon belly nigiri melted in the mouth. The scallops were divine. Everything was excellent.
My husband had his usual assortment of rolls but kept taking bites of my Omakase.
For dessert (our Anniversary) there was green tea tiramisu and green tea mochi. Very, very good.
Always great service and food here.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 7, 2022Previous reviewWe rarely dine in here but order a lot of takeout. The stars aligned and we were finally able to dine in. Everything is even better when it is eaten in house.
Check out the specials board when you walk in. Order anything with fatty tuna. The fresh oysters were also excellent and were very fresh.
It was a cold night so we started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer. Always a solid choice.
Then some of our favorite rolls: White Dragon, Godzilla and Viking.
Some fatty tuna Nigiri rounded out the meal.
Service is always fantastic.May 9, 2020Previous reviewLovely place to hang out. But in the time of Covid we have curbside. The specialty rolls are great and we like the Love Boat to share. Try the Ooka Roll as that will always be a favorite.
The owner is great and service is always friendly. My only complaint is that ever since they added the current sushi chef, the rolls are too loose. He needs to roll them tighter.
Times are hard now so we are supporting Ooka - please support them too.Jan 3, 2018Previous reviewOoka has gotten even better. The Ooka Roll with lobster is a highlight. Don't miss the fresh nigiri or sashimi selections. They have daily specials but if you want something else just ask. Great, friendly service.
Feb 6, 2017Previous reviewA little gem hidden in a strip mall near Home Depot.
They have a nice selection of fresh fish and a daily happy hour. The sushi chef is great and will make you special rolls. The fish selection is limited but they have the most popular varieties. Roll selection is good and they don't put a ton of sauce on them.
Service is very good. They also deliver within 3 miles or father if not busy.
The space is small and can fill up during peak times. Plenty of free parking. - Aug 12, 2023
The sushi at ooka is amazing!! My friends and I ordered the California roll, Alaskan roll, shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll and veggie fried rice. Their regular rolls are mostly under $10, and their signature rolls are around $16. Customer service was good, but it did take a while for the food to be prepped. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice - it's lively and good for family and friends. Parking is convenient. Overall rating: 9/10

This is my favorite Sushi restaurant south of the river. They have the consistently tasting best salmon and tuna shashimi. It's fresh, generously sliced, and fairly priced.
My husband and I come for dinner whenever we can get a sitter and have also had good luck bringing our kids here. The Manager has been our server at least 50% of the time and she's great!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 27, 2017Previous reviewThis is my second time here and I'm finally getting around to writing a review! I'm giving five stars, which I don't often, because I've now consistently had a great experience at Ooka!
Pound for pound, I've found Ooka to have the best and most fresh sushi cuts in the south metro. Their fish comes in good sized pieces and is reasonably priced. The rolls are fat and meaty and well flavored. Last time I ate a whole lot of Salmon Nigiri and it was sweet and tender.
This time we did lunch specials and got the pick two rolls for $7.95 deal (Philly with reg salmon and Spicy Tuna) and added a lunch 007 roll. No upcharge or problem subbing regular salmon in our Philly, great!
We also did a lunch special Hibachi Steak (med well), which I normally never get but was really tasty and good. My husband thought it was a little steep for the portion size ($13 on lunch menu) but we're talking a nice cut of steak in little cubes so I was happy.
Also, try the Red Plum Sake Sangria, it's refreshing and also on lunch HH!

Went here for the first time and was not disappointed. The sushi was fresh, beautifully displayed, and so good we got seconds. The entrees look amazing too. Finding quality restaurants in this area is tough and this for sure is one of them, we will be back!

This is the best in the Twin Cities area. I keep going back and the service/quality is always superb.
Great staff...don't pass it by, it is literally a hidden gemHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 20, 2023Previous reviewThere isn't a day I don't think of going back..just a great hidden gem. Great food, service, and value. Lots of choices..quality is always top notch. The location is tucked away, but worth the find. I think it is one of the best, most satisfying Japanese fare in the metro area..and I have been to many.
Jul 9, 2022Previous reviewThis is my current favorite restaurant. Never disappoint with food quality, selection, and preparation. great staff. They get my highest recommendation
May 10, 2021Previous reviewgreat..great menu, superb Gyoza...nice quiet clean and personal place to enjoy a quiet, fabulous dinner..so much to choose from..another great south Metro Japanese cuisine. Location is a bit hidden, but the food is worth it
Mar 26, 2020Previous reviewI am a big fan of great Japanese cuisine. Ooka is one of my all time favorite places for quality food. It is a small quiet neighborhood place that deserves alot of support. A hidden gem...for the food and service.
It is a small place and has a comfortable atmosphere, out of the way and kind of hidden.
Try the gyoza as a starter and their special Ooka roll is great. Give them your support, I really want them to be around when all the virus crisis passes. - Doug H.Burnsville, MN1153Oct 7, 2023
A smaller restaurant that has good fresh sushi. The several times we've been there was only one waiter; however, that never seemed to delay our service. We enjoy this restaurant every time we go.
