I'm sorry to write this review, but here it is: The owner is retiring in January. Spend 5 minutes with him, you'll conclude he should have retired a decade ago. He's senile, disorganized, and his work is shoddy. I never should have trusted him with my repair work, but I felt sympathetic towards him, and want to give him some easy business as an act of faith.
Well, it took two months instead of the one week he promised, and he completely f*cked it up. Now I have to take my boots to another repair shop to fix what he did. The job: Replace zipper on Alpinestars motorcycle boot. Result: Zipper replaced in amateurish fashion. At least it's on the inside and seems to work. Also, he detached inner weatherproof webbing, did not reattach. As a bonus, he carelessly sewed a portion of the inner weather webbing to the new zipper, which reduces the opening for foot entry/exit, which is the whole reason for being of the zipper in the first place. And he lost the insole. I spent some precious time hunting through his shop for my insole, finally gave up.
Have I mentioned these boots are irreplaceable? They're not manufactured anymore, and I can't find a decent substitute. They have all the features of a decent motorcycle half boot, while having a classy appearance that I can wear right into the office.
He doesn't answer the phone. Some realtor lady named Jennifer (neighbor? Daughter?) might, or she'll text you. Every time we communicated, there was a long catch up phase, where I had to remind them what I'd left for repair. The boot was misplaced every time. Except that time they had the wrong boots in mind.
He only works three days a week.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amanda K.Seattle, WA06Oct 23, 2023
My shoes have been there for 7 months. He keeps saying he'll get to them but it also sounds like he can't find them. Now their number no longer works. I'll try stopping by.

He changed phone number and closed with hundreds of dollars of my stuff. I prepaid and left new dr martins and expensive Sandles to be stretched. Two days later phone number was disconnected

Dropped off boots prior to the holidays, pre paid and just stopped in 3 weeks late to pick up and they never even picked them up off the floor from where I left them two months ago....I recommend taking your business elsewhere!!! They did not even care that they dropped the ball... so sad.

I pre-paid, owner said 2-3 weeks my Dansko clogs would be ready with new buckles. Didn't hear back from him after 5 weeks so called- he said he hasnt gotten to them yet. 2 weeks after that went to the shop to get them finished or not but he hasnt shown up yet even though store hours says hes supposed to be there. Tried calling him from the parking lot only to get a message that the number is invalid ??? Wish me luck trying to get my shoes back... Go somewhere else for shoe repair.

Took almost 2 months to fix one shoe and put three stitches in. Had to call numerous times throughout this period just to be told that he has not had time to stitch my shoe yet. It literally needed three stitches. Finally, upon picking it up, he lost my original shoe lace from this expensive shoe bought overseas. That is really the only reason I needed it stitched. Otherwise, it is cheaper to buy new shoes every-time vice having them repaired at a shoe repair shop. I am not going to use this business again and I don't recommend it to anyone else either. This is my personal experience with this place.

It's a very cool shoe repair shop and Rocky's a shoe repair guy. If it's not shoes, take it somewhere else. Rocky aims to please, but you will probably be disappointed with the experience. And I quote Rocky as he attempts to alter my leather jacket. "This work is probably above my pay grade". True.

I've had 3 repairs done there - all great service and excellent repair.
But, check their schedule before driving in. They have limited hours.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Grayson Y.Kent, WA027Sep 3, 2016
Sometimes competition drives up customer service and down prices.
Port Orchard, however, can be an odd eagle because it has plenty of "only one in town" shops that are economic in budget and have workers that are on point.
This is one of them places. Mind you ... keep a 19th century pace for a job that requires (mixed among other modern business skills) some 19th century hand and tool skills.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
