When I found out Omaha Steaks had a store you could actually go and buy direct from, I was ecstatic. When I found out it had been around for years and was closing, I got upset. With that being said, I needed to stock up on some higher end groceries (lol).

For those of you not familiar with Omaha Steaks, they are a mail order company that provides steaks, Seafood, sides, desserts, tools, spices, and combos that let you pretty much create some dinners and/or lunches with lasting memories. They are not the highest end (in comparison to Allen Brothers and Kansas City Steaks), but they are of damn good quality and I am rarely (if ever) disappointed by their products. And I have ordered just about everything they have to offer.

The first time I went to the store, I was greeted by Joe, who gave me an entire rundown of the specials, and what they had going on.

He then told me that they were closing down, and consolidating with the store on Johnson Ferry, in Marietta. Boo for me, as that just doubled my trip time (The Forum is pretty close to my house, by suburban standards).

When I went, they had all sorts of deals, so I stocked up on what I could. I was definitely filling up my car and dropping coin. When I heard of the 50% everything sale, I decided to come back, twice.

I loaded up on goods, as it has been helping gain my culinary creativity back. It is also disgusting at how many family meals or boxes for 2-4 people that I devour solo (ie the Shepard's pie they sell).

The one downside about the store though, is that they do not offer everything that Omaha Steaks as a whole offers online, but you get a smorgasbord of options to choose from. My advice is to stick with the specials if you want to get the most bang for your buck. Also, my favorite steaks at the store were the 4X 5oz Private Reserve ribeye crowns. I like serving those with the 6oz cold water lobster tails. They have plenty more of where that came from.

Thankfully Joe is going to the Marietta store, and Iook forward to seeing him there- he is a great associate and armed with plenty of knowledge.

I can't say enough great things about this store! I'm disabled and when I go in, I feel like someone special! They bring me boxes and boxes of any product I want to look at but never push me to purchase! They spend plenty of time answering my questions. But then again, I observed the staff treat everyone this way! And that's good customer service! And the discounts for being in the Steaklovers club are great! Every product I have tried has been delicious! I read where some people don't like the serving size or the prices but they are upfront about everything - they will open every box and show you the product.
The store manager, Joe (I think) is awesome - always smiling and it's obvious he likes his job! Omaha Steaks, you have earned my repeat business!! And that says a lot, I have high expectations for my hard earned dollars!

Seriously, we love this place. Husband and I have been shopping here a couple times a year for the last few years. We go, stock up and eat for months!!! We have our list of favorites that we purchase every time we go and always end up trying something new. The desserts are fantastic, try the chocolate cake! The sides are delish and fresh! And if you get on the store mailing list, not just the company, you'll be informed of when they have their 50% off everything sale, that's right EVERYTHING. At least twice a year. And a little tip, when I discover that we really like something we make a note of it, that way, we know exactly what we want when we go in!

If you love meat, you'll love this place! I used to shop here for dads' birthdays, but recently they advertised some 'door busters' so I popped in to see what they had. Ended up buying a BUNCH of meat: 8 pork chops, 12 chicken breasts, 6 filet mignons, 16-pack of beef burgers and 4 beef tenderloin tips. All for $140 (we saved about $200 off of their regular prices). We have enough meat to last us a long, long, long time.

Bottom line: premium, quality meat; great man-gifts (especially during grilling season); look for sales and you'll make out like a bandit.

Storefront of overpriced meats for those too lazy to go to a real meat market.
