First off, I am well aware this location will be closing in the next few months. Not because of poor anything, purely because CRAVE decided they want the space and went to the landlords and...well money talks...that was a really classless thing. Granted the OC owners had the opportunity to pay the increased rent to stay, but seriously CRAVE...you suck!
This place, while a little pricey has great food. HH is always fantastic and the beer selection is vast. The service has always been mediocre (slow) but I have always gone in with the intention of not being rushed and just enjoy the night.
The dippin dough is fantastics...simple but amazing! Italian nachos are a experience as with the pizza rolls. The Meat Me Pizza is great and if you want a spice go for the Double Deckoroni.
I will definitely miss this place!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ryan F.Minneapolis, MN1446971Aug 5, 2009
Great date night for under $20.
Tuesday night they have some of the best karaoke in town. So after grabbing the mic you can grab a dollar off tap beer and half price apps starting after 10pm. I would recommend the Italian nachos. Plus the chicken poppers for just $1.99.... Need i say more. So fellas grab a girl and lets hit the mic this Tuesday night, I will see you there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 28, 2013
The ambience of this place is fantastic. They have 100+ beers, the people are friendly, it's a place you could spend a while any time through the year. I don't know if they open their outdoor patio since I haven't been back since May but it would be awesome if they did!
The food is okay (we're used to deep dish Chicago pizza) but I'd definitely go back just to revel in the Chicago theme and friendly faces. They didn't even mind that we had come, only to figure out that we needed to run to another meeting, and would come back. They remembered us upon our return a couple hours later - must return!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qaiser B.Chicago, IL25313728Nov 8, 2012
This place is just ok and yes I have experienced better.
Food: It tastes similar to microwaveable food you may buy from Target or Rainbow foods.
Service: Is nothing to write home about, I have been to this place couple times and the servers were sort of uninterested in what they were doing which is not really great.
Moreover the Old Chicago location in Eagan turned down my Yelp Check In coupon which was not very nice.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ericka A.Chicagoland, IL137916063207Jun 22, 2009Updated review
My friends and I came here to celebrate my being home for a week. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service and menu choices have all improved in the past year.
The menu has a much larger selection, so all of us walked away happy. Their drink menu has also expanded. All of our favorites are still listed on the menu.
Service was much better than any time I've been there before. Our waiter was on the ball and even the manager came over to make sure we were being taken care of properly. At the end of the night he even split up our bill without so much as a flinch.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Apr 6, 2008Previous reviewOld Chicago used to be a frequent stop for me when I had to commute and would get off at the Uptown Transit Station. My father lives about two miles away, so he could hop a bus up there and we'd have an early dinner together.
Their happy hour runs at two times. I believe one is 4pm-6pm, but I'll fix this posting if I find out otherwise. They have an OK selection of appetizers for happy hour. Applebee's has more choices, but some of the food at Old Chicago seems a bit fresher.
There have been times that we will show up with a large group and they ignore us, or mess up our orders royally; however, we've had enough good experiences to not completely deter us.
Be sure to grab some of the complimentary mints in the basket as you leave. They make me smile. - Angi H.Saint Petersburg, FL128438Aug 25, 2017
Really accommodating for games. They have a nice out door area that's sheltered for smokers in the winter. The chicken pesto Pacino was good had a lot of cheese and was well proportioned. My friends and I come here a lot in big groups and they usually can seat us all at one large table.

I have been to other locations of Old Chicago and never been really impressed so I was in no hurry to try out this one. Basically, we were hungry, this place was within sight so I thought why not.
Food was alright, nothing special and the server was friendly and attentive. In other words everything was just OK.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jonathan E.Minneapolis, MN138168251Oct 20, 2010
I tend to frequent this establishment, but have yet to review it. So I shall.
The #1 reason I go here is the World Beer Tour. I am most of the way through my first tour and never fail to find a new beer to try when I go here. I love the fact that they have different groupings of favorite beers, whether it is their special seasonal beers, staff favorites, or a mini tour, there is always a good list to chose from and some beers you don't find very often. On top of that, they have good a happy hour! However, regular prices are reasonable as well.
The food is decent. It is corporate, but delicious and one of my favorites when I want pizza. Not the fancy kind like Pizza Luce has, just plain, old, good pizza. Late night happy hour food prices are great as well. If you have time to wait for a calzone, you should have one. The pizza rolls are a favorite appetizer of ours (unless we get the trio, which includes garlic bread and Italian nachos as well). Good kids menu too!
The atmosphere is just like any other Old Chicago with the beer tour plaques on the wall. If you have never been, it is a typical sports bar with sports pictures and signs, about 100 TV's and the sound of the game reaching the far corners of the restaurant. The patio is fantastic in the summer! It is very large and just off the bustle of Hennepin Ave.
Another reason we come here is the gaming! I know it sounds lame, but that is our guilty pleasure! We play Silver Strike (in HD now) while working on our tours. If we have the young man with us, we sit in a booth near the bar, where we have the gaming machine at your table. We are not even big gamers, but it goes with the territory here.
The service is always good. (It has to be. It is corporate.) This is just an all around fun time! It is affordable and a favorite of ours when we are able. Have a beer. Have some pizza. Watch the game. Do it here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason M.Franklin, TN911Oct 19, 2008
Three words. World Beer Tour.
The pizza is pretty good too, sort of a glorified DiGiorno but it's pretty tasty. Plus it is always served at the PERFECT temperature. I like the Chicago Seven.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Craig E.Denver, CO8133024Sep 9, 2007
What more can be said about Old Chicago, I really love their pizza, a lot. I used to frequent the original Old C's in Boulder all the time so i generally try to make a stop when I see one as there are none in California.
Fantastic beer selection, as always, the pepperoni pizza rolls are tremendous and you can't miss with the pizza. The coolest part about this particular Old C is the HUGE downstairs area with pool tables and sports on everywhere, basically a dude's paradise in downtown Minneapolis!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
