Great hike and we did it with 8- and 11-year olds. Fox Canyon and Luci's is pretty zig zag. If you have any knee issues, consider bringing a walking stick. Also bring lots of water. There's little shade and on hot days, I can imagine how tiring this trail can be.
We did this in less than two hours but that was leisurely taking our time for lots of pictures!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 17, 2014First to Review
My favorite trail in the Ojai Valley. Stroll along fragrant orange groves and enjoy the views of the valley and hills. Side trails have been added this year including Lookout trail and Fox Canyon View Trail locater closer to the end of Shelf Road off of Signal Street in Ojai. Dogs on leash are allowed.

Went here last weekend for an afternoon hike. Plenty of parking at the gate, but we went later in the afternoon (after lunch), probably after most people had finished their morning hikes. Trail is clearly marked, dogs allowed and it was very quiet and peaceful. Very little shade so pack a hat and sunscreen!

Amazing trails with insane views !!! I took random ways but it was the first trail that you see on the left and then the steep way down. Ended up being almost 4 miles. Mind you I had my 30 lb toddler on me the whole way lol. Lots of lizards hanging out in the sun , butterflies , and tons of plants. It is definitely narrow in some areas. Wear pants or high top shoes or boots. The dry shrubs can really tear up your legs. I can't wait to go again!
