Really loved it here. The food was excellent and the prices were awesome. It's hard to find a place in austin where entrees aren't $15 each and the quality is still there.
We started off with the white bean dip which had a lot of flavor. It kind of reminded me of hummus, but it had a kick to it and the sweet Serrano peppers were a nice contrast.
For entrees, we got the biscuits and gravy and the migas. Both were excellent. Biscuits and gravy can often be too bland for me, but this dish was awesome. I had food envy a little but my migas were great too, so no worries there.
The migas came with two palm sized tortillas (I got flour).
Overall, we left very full. We will be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 53077Mar 8, 20241 check-in
Its such a shame that I can't give this place 0 stars because the service was the worst I've ever had. I walked in, no one acknowledged I was there for 5-10 minutes. I understand it was busy but to not have a single person say anything to me was awful. It's not like people didn't pass us, we had a bunch of wait staff walk up to us only to say excuse me and go do other things.
I eventually walked out and decided to give it another shot so I walked right back in and someone behind the bar said they'll be in the with us in a minute. When they finally came and sat us down, they handed me what I thought was the complete menu, but they came back a second time with a second menu and water for us. The second menu had more food and the drinks. Then we had two more people come around the corner to us with water in hand not knowing we already had it.
My wife and I were sitting for another 10-15 minutes without anyone coming up to us to ask anything so we just walked out. Total we were there for 20-25 minutes and it was a terrible experience. I will never be going back again which sucks because the reviews sounded okay and this place looked nice but it's not worth it if I'm going to be ignored by everyone and forgotten the whole time.
You're better off going to any other brunch spot than thisHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 22253599Mar 4, 2024
The best of many great parts of this jewel are the people and their attitudes. You can't appreciate exactly how difficult it is to maintain a relaxed, friendly demeanor during a Sunday Slam until you've tried it. The hostesses, the bartender and the servers were all warm, friendly and efficient.
The menu will satisfy almost everyone. My Virgin Mary was the most delicious I've ever enjoyed, but I couldn't place what was different. It just tasted - fresher - than any other. A slightly smaller biscuit would cook more evenly, and the sweet potato hash would benefit from more vegetables or a bit of spice (cumin? Nutmeg?). These are very minor complaints when everything else was so amazing.
Ample parking (YAY!), an outdoor patio suitable for small children to run around, an efficient "We text you when your table is ready" system that did NOT depend on any of those annoying apps, plus a location that's out of the worst of Austin DT traffic. I love this place and I can't wait to go back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 3, 20241 check-in
Pretty darn good food! We went for breakfast on a Saturday and it was pretty quick to get in and out (not crowded like most Austin spots on a Saturday).
Super nice waitress and good recommendations. I liked my sweet potato had and bf liked the breakfast sandwich (had bacon and pork). Also got a matcha latte which was good. Just wish the portions were slightly biggerHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8205621Jan 12, 2024
The food? Delicious, large to very large portions. Stuffed fried chicken was something different, and although I'm not certain of the green veggie-like stuffing, the cream sauce on top of a perfectly fried, tender chicken breast was a taste treat. Great dish. Brussels sprouts were enough for (at least) three people, and were crispy goodness, serve at a perfect temperature. The "toast," served with the salad was a surprisingly very good sourdough that complimented the meal. Salad was good, a bit too leafy, and not enough substance for my liking. But, 5 star food and $6 margaritas on Friday that were very refreshing.
Server was friendly, made good recommendations, and apologized for the (overly) slow food delivery. Not a quiet venue, and quite a lot going on in terms of mini white lights, televisions, and metal tables that likely added to the lack of sound buffering.
Looked like a great outdoor patio in warm weather.
Lots of parking. Reasonable prices. .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2023Updated review
The 1st time I came here, I gave it 5 stars (9 months ago). My review from then: I went with my friend at 10:30 on a Sunday, so it was pretty busy. Once we got seated and ordered, our food came pretty quickly. We got biscuits to start which were really good. My friend got the breakfast plate and I got the breakfast sandwich and an iced latte. The coffee was okay but not amazing. The food was really good though. I'd try going earlier in the morning or see if they have reservations.
Update from October 2023: I went with a group of 4 people around noon and it was so busy. We ended up sitting at the bar which isn't ideal when there are more than 2 people because it's hard to talk to the whole group when you are sitting in a line. The oak milk for coffee is a $2 upcharge, which is insane to me when an entire bottle at the grocery store is $5. I got a chicken and biscuit breakfast sandwich with hot honey, which was decent but my fries were cold by the time the food came out. And not like warm but actually cold. I was not impressed with this trip and it's not somewhere I would pick to take people. My friends liked their food I think but I didn't feel like it was worth the trip across town for the food or ambiance.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 19, 2023Previous reviewI went with my friend at 10:30 on a Sunday so it was pretty busy. Great vibes in this place. I came here to meet with a mentor and it's located in a really nice little neighborhood (Jefferson area) where there are lots of little shops and restaurants. This place is also bigger than it looks outside, and they have a cute little bakery with pastries. The servers were attentive, and while I didn't eat much while I was here, the appetizer (Buffalo cauliflower) that I had was STUNNING. The Buffalo flavor was very strong and flavorful, and the fact that it was cauliflower made me feel slightly healthy (really only slightly). I would definitely go back to try other things at some point :)

I asked the restaurant and they said there's nothing they can do. not a great business plan If you ask me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 29, 2023
order- Oakmont Burger
To get straight into it- this burger was an 11/10. It had two patties, american cheese, charred shallot, aioli, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and I added a fried egg. It was so so so so SO GOOD. Everything was homemade from the pickles to even the ketchup and it tasted so fresh and beautiful. This is one of those meals that just makes you happy you know? The fries were the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The ketchup had a sweet aftertaste to it and it paired so well with the sweet potato fries. I'm so happy I started my day with this gorgeous meal. Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
