About the Business
Since 1977, Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital has been treating the dogs, cats, and pocket pets of Seminole, FL, and surrounding areas. We are a full-service, American Animal Hospital Association accredited, Cat Friendly Practice certified, and low-stress handling veterinary hospital. Our services include wellness care, sick visits, vaccinations, microchipping, nutrition and weight management, parasite testing and prevention, acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, Herbal Medicine, laser therapy, x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, pet dentistry, surgery including spay and neuter, cherry eye repair, mass removal, pain management, and more. We are open six days a week and we look forward to meeting you and your pet.

Hands down the best vet experience for our cat and dog. ALL of the staff was friendly and professional and our pets were very relaxed. It's clear they have your pet's best health as their focus.

Having just moved here from Las Vegas a month ago, it was comforting to find a warm caring place for my fur-babies. They scheduled me right in for our little one, Jackpot Annie -- who had a pinched nerve in her neck. From the start -- the receptionist, vet tech and Dr. McKenzie were incredibly kind and spot on. I never felt pressured to run a bunch of tests or x-Rays. Dr. McKenzie prescribed pain meds, steroids and rest for Jackpot. She was back to being her happy, rambunctious self under a day. Whew! Big weight off my shoulders knowing that we have a great group of caring people at Oakhurst Vet Hospital. Highly recommend them. I was referred to them by a new Floridian friend. Thank you! I have been to a lot of vets over the years and this is the most caring clinic I have ever been to. From the office staff & techs to the Drs, all are extremely professional and efficient. Our dog had to be euthanized this week and I can't imagine a better team to help in such a difficult time.

Very unhappy. We have be going to vet for over 15 years and board our border collie all the time. This morning called my dog keeps checking and coughing. They said too busy to see.. doctors over worked. Then hire another, poor service

The took my beautiful Havanese puppy and desecrated her. Changed groomers, but never told me and this guy really botched her. I cry every time I look at her. And it is OAKHURST VETERINARY CENTER'S fault. They lose very difficult to replace dental orthotics THEIR VET ORDERED HER TO USE. (So therefore the did NOTHING prescribed by their own vet.
We have family wedding photos scheduled, and they were to be included.

Excellent customer service! All the vets are very thorough and knowledgeable. My dog loves Jenn the vet tech so much she runs up to her which says a lot because she is a rescue and has a lot of anxiety. I love their hours because I work and it's very convenient to get her in without missing work. We are very satisfied with this place of business!

This is a horrible practice. I would say they nickel and dime you endlessly but it is more like hundreds and hundreds of dollars for services NOT requested and NOT required. Although I was warned, I tried them anyway and after a few visits I realize the validity of the warnings. If you consider $300 for an ear infection acceptable then this is your place. They perform services in the name of certification and covering their responsibility which leave you astounded. Heed my warning and run don't walk away from this vet hospital.

This place is terrible. Will take your money and give you false hope by telling you your pet is okay just send him home to die. He died not three days later. They knew he was probably terminal but took our money anyway. Real pos vets.

What can I say other than Oakhurst is very fortunate to have Dr Tyndall. From the moment she walked in the compassion and caring she showed not only to myself but to my Chloe kitty was beyond anything I've ever encountered at other places in my life of having pets as a kid and adult.
I don't mean to disparage other veterinarians but so many have zero "bed side manner". Some can be cold and standoffish at least in my past experiences. And this can only be a negative to the client's experience especially one like mine where my beloved kitty had to eventually be put to rest. Dr Tyndall was that extra emotional support that I think all in my situation need from a professional.
When my time of grieving is over and I'm ready for another family member as long as Dr Tyndall is at Oakhurst that is the only place I will be going! And not to be left out but sadly I didn't grab any names, the receptionist who was there a couple times I had to come in as well as the gentleman who I assume was a tech that took Chloe one time were great too. They were helpful and also displayed that ever so important concern. There was another female tech and I assume another receptionist at one point I interacted with and all the same applies to them. I also had a phone call from I believe was Dr Taylor, he as well was great. He didn't make me feel rushed on the phone and graciously answered all my questions. I took my English Bulldog here for the first time the other day. They are still keeping social distance and having owners wait in their cars but the staff was amazing. They all said great things about my baby and apologized for not letting me come in. Plus their app is awesome.
