This little hometown restaurant in the heart of Oakdale, Illinois, is one of the best. The food is good. The have a nightly themed buffet. The buffet is limited. It's $9, what do you expect. The pies are homemade.

This is a classic country-style restaurant. The menu consists of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and various homestyle entrees. They also offer a daily special. There is a salad bar station, but it has not been open when I have been there. The food quality is very good (flavor was great too). They also have various pies and other baked goods. Staff is very friendly and service was pretty quick. A very nice place to stop if you are passing through town. Closed monday/tuesday.

Great old style country cooking and salad bar. Great service. Family owned and operated = they truly care about customers.

The food is wonderful - the service is great. We held a family reunion in the back room and they were great to work with us. Their brick oven pizza is fantastic! Would highly recommend breakfast, lunch or dinner!!

Great spot for breakfast and the famous fried chicken buffet on Wednesday evenings and all day Sunday! Very friendly service and a great price! The pies are good too.

1st time trying for breakfast. Burrito/biscuits & gravy, not very good at all. It stayed with me for the entire day. I might need to try a lunch.

Great service and a nice selection of great desserts. We enjoyed the wood fired pizza and salad bar.

Great home cooked meals -- so good that we drove 12 miles back to have breakfast the next day. Tried the 3-egg omeletes (western & meat) which were to die for, ingredients fresh & tasty. The homemade pies advertised on the daily board were chocolate, butterfinger, apple, coconut, lemon, raisen, rhubarb custard raisen, strawberry-rhubarb & chocolate cake--quite a selection! Were given a tour of the addition which will house the new kitchen, banquet room and salad bar area -- quite impressive. The owners & staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. A gold mine dining spot in this rural area will be much appreciated by the locals. On their MARCH 2013 flyer they state: Closed Monday, Open Tues-Sat 7am to 8pm, Sunday from 8am-2pm. There are Lunch & Supper (5-8pm) specials or you can order from their many menu items. Thursday nights (5-8pm) Specials: Ham & Beans, 12 oz ribeye, or 8oz New York Strip. Friday & Saturday Specials (5-8pm): Cod Chunks, Blue Gill Fillets, Walley Filets, Catfish filets, BBQ Pork steaks, 12 Oz Ribeye or 8 Oz NY Strip. All specials come with choice of potatoe & 1 trip Salad Bar. (See photo for an example of their monthly flyer specials advertised).
