If you read this review and still play this course? Then you're Stupid.
It's Simply Horrible... Including way overpriced for what you should get (value wise).
Sad to say... The Management Butchered this Course by removing trees everywhere and don't bother even to cleanup the mess or the ridicules countless mounds of wood chips and huge stumps or root-balls or even appear to care. The debris form recent storms don't seem to bother them either. Seems that the thousands of trees they have removed looks like what slash areas in the forest looks like when deforestation occurs.
Their excuse is that the course needed the trees removed to let the course grow better. Doesn't explain why hundreds of trees in the middle of nowhere are now stumps amongst never maintained areas were toppled. It appears that the owners needed extra cash and sold the best commodity the course had. I'm sure the owners would argue otherwise of which I wouldn't believe them one iota due to the serious unmaintained areas.
As we played, the surrounding neighbors (yes homes on the course) targeted us to let us know how mad they are at the golf course. They pointed out in great detail how bad the management of the course has deteriorated even their own back-yards and they themselves are required to cleanup after the "lazy" grounds crew. One guy told us that he blows the crap back to the golf course every day. One woman made a point to let us know that the ground crews only smoke and sit in their carts instead of doing any work. She also mentioned that the equipment the course brought to strip mine the course had no regards for them at all. Furthermore mentioning that the homeowners Association is pissed.
They apparently let five'somes also play on Saturday mornings because we followed several of them. They overload the course in the same way they stripped the trees out of the course. It used to be a nicer fun course while challenging to play.
We played with a men's club member and he mentioned the membership is dwindling. He also mentioned that Gold Mountain / Columbia hospitality is taking over this month. Hopefully not too late because they have a clue.
If you decide to play this course, consider yourself warned. I'll come back in 3 years to see how it turned out.
Okay - One single good thing to point out is that the greens are very nice in spite the crazy undulations..

Our Senior League plays this every year, and it's a great course. Some of the holes are a bit challenging for a duffer like me. Plus they have $2 beers at the restaurant as you come off the course.

I'm a 7 handicap and I played yesterday and this golf course could be great except...
First the good: Greens are wonderful, lots of curves, smooth, perfect grass and just the right speed.
Fairways are generally nice, most holes are dogleg and set up for a nice challenge.
Driving range is a bit short and I think they are using low flight balls but it is fine.
Pace of play on a Sunday morning was very good.
The bad: The bunkers are terrible! They look like they haven't been maintained in months and with the Covid no rakes policy (which every golf course is doing and I totally understand) they are simply a mess. Every other golf course I play, has the maintenance staff rake/maintain the bunkers frequently so even though the golfers aren't able to rake them, at least at the start of the day, they are good. Some of the bunkers have very little sand them them and it is just hard packed dirt. It makes getting out of them cleanly extremely difficult. Flying the ball 50 yards over the green is the norm when you use a normal, golf sand swing
If you get in a bunker, especially on the back nine, you might as well use your putter and hope. I'm an excellent bunker player and was really at a loss. I can't imagine how a person who isn't comfortable in bunkers would feel. I know it added strokes to my round and that is very frustrating when everything else is really good.
For a golf course in this price range, having bunkers in this condition is embarrassing. It doesn't cost them anything to have a maintenance person rake them with a machine regularly to try and fluff them back up, and considering how many there are on the golf course, you are very likely to get in a bunker while playing your round.
I know this feels like a small thing, and some would say "Just don't get in the bunkers" but that isn't realistic and it is so easily corrected. This could be a gem in the south end, instead it is frustrating and score inflating experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jonathan W.Seattle, WA0202Aug 1, 2021
Great golf course, but the window of my truck just got busted out. PLEASE BE CAREFUL UNTIL THEY HAVE A BETTER PLAN/SECURITY. Not the first time and won't be the last.

Good classic golf course with nice rolling greens. Surrounded by cozy single family home and plenty of trees to give each hole its definition.
Restaurant was a bit hectic but overall food and service was nice. Beautiful place to be in July.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dennis F.WA, WA02Jul 14, 2021
Our league golfed at Oakbrook last Monday. I am sorry to say I was totally disappointed with the experience. It is far overpriced ($75) for the condition of the course. The sand traps have not been maintained in months (grass growing in them, hard wet packed sand, lack of rakes which is understandable due to the condition of the sand.) There was no water on the course. Yardage markers are almost no existent. Considering the price and course conditions this is the worst course I have played in years.

Greens were recently punched and were horrible. Understandable, but no greens fee relief. But what is not forgivable was the condition of the bunkers. Most were 30% weeds with little to no sand. Obviously zero maintenance. It's like they just don't care. Never going back.

Excellent Golf Course! Well-maintained with a lot participation. There is been a major improvement to the Fairways over the last three years.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 24, 2016Previous reviewThis would be a much better golf course if the new management would clean up the endless large mounds of wood chips along the fairways. This is especially obvious when a golfer leaves the "visible clubhouse areas" and proceeds along all the adjacent fairways. Also, trimming the tall grass and weeds around the thousands of now dead tree stumps would make the course much more enjoyable. Management does not seem to have much concern for what was a beautiful golf course.
On the positive side, the clubhouse has improved the times and days in which they serve meals. - Bob E.Gig Harbor, WA12452Apr 19, 2016
Nice course !!!!!
Great staff !!!!!!!!
To much tall grass and stuff in the rough
If you hit on 90% in the course the rough you will have a hard time finding the ball

The mighty have fallen. Played 12 years of junior golf at this course and have never seen it in worse shape. We waited 3 months after they cut down the trees and there are still piles upon piles of shredded wood, in play, on the course. Add that on top of ridiculous green fees ($81 per person riding) no sand in the bunkers, the snack bar not having deli sandwiches at 12:45pm, the greens obviously took a beating which is why they cut them down obviously, and you have to pay for practice balls on the driving range. Even the simple things one person could do drive me nuts such as no water in the ball washers. I am in the customer service industry and it makes me sad playing here. I understand somethings are out of their control with the greens and such but to charge this price without any practice balls or anything is crazy to me.
Go play another course and let Ryan Moore and his RMG club find their money from someone else.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
