Great service and I was, to be candid, not the ideal customer today. But I got not only friendly helpfulness but a great--even inspiring--conversation about quality, integrity, service, buying local and the idea that 'wellness' ties into all those things, not just exercise. I have bought here before and found the staff helpful and just all around good guys.
I've stopped into the store a few times and each time I learn something new and leave with the perfect item and a great value. The staff is really knowledgable and personable. As a fitness instructor I have a high level of expectation from my equipment and always want the cutting edge- Northwest Fitness never disappoints! I would highly recommend you stop in and see what they have in store for you- it's not just your standard exercise equipment... whether you are trying to elevate your personal fitness or want to outfit your home gym- this is the place! Be sure to try out the massage chair too- it's a game changer. :)
I'm approaching sixty and my posture is becoming an issue. Going into a fitness store I had imagined they would try to sell weights and cardio machines. After explaining to Ryan my posture issue he pointed me to various in expensive rollers, bands and balls to help with my posture. He knew what he was talking about and wasn't a hard sell. I'll definitely be back for larger equipment when my posture gets corrected.
Did an internet price match negotiation with Ramin at NW Fitness Equipment and what an awesome experience. Bought a Landice L7 treadmill and got a great price. Delivery and installation no problem either. Great selection of medium to high end equipment. I buy a lot of stuff online, but when possible, support the local small businesses. Believe me, if you are in the market for quality exercise equipment in the PDX area, THIS IS THE PLACE! Great prices, service and delivery. If something goes wrong with your equipment, you have a first class local business to help you. Shopping in Portlandia can be sketchy but this place is as good as it gets. Geez, they even have a parking lot with enough spaces.
I followed Robb and Lahz's advice and bought a treadmill desk here. Loving it so far, and the delivery+assembly was prompt and fast. I probably won't have them move this thing for me when I end up moving, though; $150 is pretty steep for that service IMO, and if you've got a truck or something you might consider just assembling the thing yourself instead of paying $125 for delivery+assembly. Let me give you a little more info about what you're getting into. As far as I can tell, these guys currently stock the DT3, DT5, and DT7 listed on http://www.lifespanfitness.com/workplacesolutions-treadmill-desk-and-bike-desk.html . The difference between the 7 and the 5 is that the 7 has a whizz-bang motor that controls the desk's height via a couple of handy buttons, whereas the DT5 has some simple (and extremely easy to use) pegs in the back that let you adjust the height manually. I work from home, and I'm the only person who's ever going to use this thing, so spending the extra $500 on a motorized height controller wasn't worth it for me; I got the DT5 and it's great so far. Look it up on Amazon if you want to see more reviews. They've got one of the DT7s set up in the store for you to try out; if you're interested in picking up a treadmill desk, swing on over and give their display model a shot. Ask for Jeff, he knew a lot about these things; I got the impression he has one himself.
Echoing the comments of other reviewers: truly friendly, helpful sales people who are not pushy in the least. I bought a treadmill desk (I highly recommend the Lifespan DT7, btw), and had it delivered and assembled. The setup guys were also friendly and quick at their work, they had it up and running within 15 minutes of showing up. This is definitely where I will be going for any fitness gear henceforth!
Needed diagnoses and maintenance on my 10 year old treadmill. Les Springer came to house for service call. Outstanding experience! He was courteous, professional, and really knew his stuff. Did thorough repair and maintenance as well as clean up.
I came in today looking for kettlebells. Ryan is very knowledgable. He worked with me to figure out how much weight to buy and even took me through a series of exercises to make sure I felt comfortable with his suggestions. I will definitely continue shop at Northwest Fitness - it was a much better experience than the last time I went to Sports Authority.
I went here to buy a treadmill to turn into a "treadmill desk", which has worked out really well for me - see the photos I uploaded. Sales, delivery, and repair (covered by the warranty) all went very smoothly. I went back and hired them to move the treadmill when I moved to a new house. That was done professionally as well. By the way, I'm rating the price range as "Moderate" because in my research, their prices were equal to or less than prices I found online. They don't carry the cheapest models, and seem to only carry reasonably sturdy ones.
A good place to get your G Force on... I was impressed with the quick on the draw email responses from staff and in store no push no sell atmosphere. Give me the info and then I am into the buy... Well stocked for sampling of machines, weights, and other equipment.
Super friendly and knowledgable staff. Went in looking for a specific size kettlebell, they searched in the back and found it for me, so awesome!!! Going back for a foam roll next!
Well stocked, super organized with about everything you can think of to keep you in shape (they do not sell motivation however). Staff are helpful but not pushy. Plenty of parking right outside their door. A++ for these folks.
I purchased here rather than the big online retailer from Seattle. Would much rather support a local business and they had it for the same price. I got a treadmill desk and am so happy with it! The people were super friendly in person, online and on the phone.
My wife and I bought a spinning bike from Northwest Fitness and glad we did. We bought a spinning bike (LifeSpan S2) from them and after a couple of weeks we noticed a slight issue with the resistance. Northwest Fitness came out to our house to try to fix it. They couldn't fix it onsite so they took it back to their shop. And after a few days working on it they decided to give us a whole new bike. They just did all this without us really questioning or pressuring them at all. The new bike is great and can't say enough good things about the service we received. Glad we didn't buy online.
Chatted with Jeff online as part of my treadmill research. Great service, always patient with my many questions over the course of two weeks. Ended up buying a Landice L7 and couldn't be happier! Delivered on time with zero purchase hassles. This is the place to go for fitness equipment!
I had such great customer service from Jeff at NW Fitness I was blown away. When I went in, I actually had already worked a deal on another machine with different company and was going by NW fitness to make sure there wasn't something I was missing out on before I bought the other. Jeff was so nice, helpful and respectful, it made the other exercise equipment store I went to previously look really bad. I didn't feel 'sold' on a machine, I felt like I was helped. Needless to say, I went with NW Fitness and I will not buy any future machines anywhere else!
