Northeast Oyster

Unquestionably the best oysters in Westchester, New York.

This place has spoiled me to oysters anywhere else. I made the mistake of disregarding my instinct and continuing to eat oysters around Westchester. Big mistake. Once you try the oysters here, be prepared to judge oysters differently from that moment on.

The oysters are really terrific. The booze selection not so much and the staff really sakes the line between hip and simply apathetic and far too often fall towards the apathetic side. That said; covid has hurt a lot of places and moods are down across the board so I am going to try them out again and hope for service to match the excellent grub

We were about a party of 10 they have mostly just beer and Brandi. I had a bunch of food the wings were almost like sweet-and-sour Chinese food it was really good. The dumplings were really tasty because they sprinkled some different kinds of seasonings on them which made each taste different. Unfortunately they were overcooked it a little mushy but they were still good. Then there was this purple bun with I guess a burger in it that was really good. I had to Brandy very smooth. We also had a platter of oysters but never made it to our side of the table it's got gobble up before we got any. A lot of people had ordered eggrolls they seem to be enjoying it so next time im going to try them. Oh yeah I'll be back

Unfortunately, I live really far away from this place. On top of that, none, NONE of my friends enjoy or appreciate the pleasures of raw oysters. With that being said, I've had the opportunity to come here only once so far, months before its great and well-deserved review in NYT.

This is a REALLY small place, with maybe seven or eight seats in a tight, nondescript bar setting. It's a one-man show, but the owner/shucker Ray knows what he's doing and is a really pleasant person. His mantra is simple: fresh oysters from nearby sources, excellent cheeses, and delicious, reasonably-priced wines. The aforementioned is literally all that this spot offers; however, it's all executed to perfection.

You don't find many small restaurants/businesses like Ray's around here anymore, and that, combined with the overall quality of offerings and his genuine hospitality, make this a memorable and endearing dining experience.

Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. Black Sea Bass Ceviche small but rich! Oysters were on point. And the beer works great with the different Oysters. Perfect spot for an Oyster, quick and convenient!

I am in LOVE with this little oyster haven! I bought a voucher to try them out and after a failed attempt to drive up in time, I finally got the chance to give them a whirl.

Upon entry, we made our way towards the back of the bar and there were two stools with our names on them. The place is quite small so, you definitely want to get in early. However, if you have to wait, it is certainly worth it.

As we sat, we were greeted by Clem, Sam and Ray. All of whom were very pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable of their menu. We started off with drinks. Hubbs went with the hard cider and I got a crisp glass of the alverinho. They have a small but complete wine selection and if you're unsure of what to choose, don't be afraid to ask for suggestions.

On this particular visit, they offered three types of oysters so I ordered an assortment of all three. My new faves are Beausoleils so I had those, some Wiley Points and Cupcakes. All were fresh and so very good. Ray shucked them with finesse, being sure not waste any of their succulent briny nectar. I also had a dozen Top Neck Clams which were equally fresh. I polished those off with ease.

While I ate, we had really good convo with Clem and Sam. Ray chimed in from time to time but his hands were busy with all the raw bar orders. Clem suggested I order some Rock Crab Claws and I just had to. They were meaty and again, fresh is in an overabundance in this establishment. The claws are served with a creamy mustard sauce that complimented the sweet crab meat without overpowering. I forgot they also offered cheese plates; some of the other guests ordered a few and since we were situated right next to where they prepared the food, yea, you guessed it. I pretty much ordered everything I saw coming out of the kitchen. The cheese plate was satisfying. They served five cheeses; Roquefort, Pierre Robert Triple Cream, Truffle Tremor, Comté and Amsterdam. All of them were the great. They were served with nice, thin slices of baguette, honey and apricot preserves. The amount of cheese they serve you is worth the price. I was full after our visit.

I was ready for my next drink but wanted to switch to a red. Clem suggested their Cabernet Sauvignon Polermo (unsure of spelling) and it was smooth, light on the tannins. Before we left, Sam poured me a Port and I don't do ports unless I'm indulging in some bomb chocolate but this particular tawny port was not too sweet. It was smooth and I kind of wish I had a couple dark truffles to complete the glass.

All in all, I loved our dining experience here and it's definitely worth a return visit. It's a great time whether you're with a group or even if you're by yourself because the staff will keep you company. We were laughing the whole time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

You must come here! You just own it to yourself if you like oysters. The best oysters I have ever tried and I eat oysters everywhere they sale them.
The owner Ray is always here chocking oysters and making sure that they are perfect, wine is cold and glasses are spotless. Very simple atmosphere, nothing fancy but he has crushed ice, good wine with good prices, perfect glasses for it, freshest oysters you can ever find and his grandmothers 60 years old plates  with golden rim to add appreciation to the old world! We loved coming here and also it feels good to support small business and never have stomach ache even if you are 100 of them. Greatest addition to Mamaroneck.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with amazing oysters....  Great variety and fresh....  We went a few weeks ago on a Friday night and ended up sitting at the bar (all seats are bar seats) and chatting it up with the owner his buddy a chef who also was behind the bar schmoozing with customers and another worker who was also fun to chat with.
Their prices were very reasonable and the wine was extremely reasonable with great pours.  They even gave us a very generous pour of port to send us home.....

A most definite return, but I will have to watch my drinking as the place is too friendly and the wine is too good to manage volume of drinks....

From food to service it was a great 1st visit!! Stumbled upon the northeast oyster company randomly while in mammaroneck and it's totally worth returning to. We were served their inaugural soft she'll crab sandwich.....and it was deeeeeelicous
Everyone makes you feel like family, from the waitress to the chef and besides that the oysters were  super fresh and sandwich hit the spot. Definitely plan on returning

Disappointing.

Walked in looking forward to trying a new place. Instead greeted with "DONT SIT THERE, those are reserved." Fine. Half the bar is reserved. So everyone sat elbow to elbow, leaving room for the reserved seats. Seems like a spot for regulars only. If you know the owner you'll be sitting comfortably.  Not a friendly atmosphere.

The menus are reminiscent elementary school MS Word lists, each printout with different prices and items.

The bar could use a little tidying. Very messy, lots of random dusty things. I didn't like seeing a mess when eating shellfish.

The oysters. They were fine. Warmer than I prefer. I didn't find them to be fresh and amazing. Lots of shells and grit.

The cocktail sauce was terrible! Same for the tasteless mignonette.

There are plenty of places in Westchester to enjoy oysters. I will not be returning.
