In just two months, I went from wearing a boot to completing my first marathon. And Dr. Markos was a HUGE part of that. Not only did she fix my plantar fasciitis, she got to the root of my issues, making recommendations that allowed me to continue my training pain-free. While other chiropractors I've gone to focus solely on the spine, Dr. Markos is a specialist in the whole body -- including feet, ankles and legs. She listens to what's going on in your body at each appointment, then adjusts you accordingly. I highly recommend North City Chiropractic and Dr. Markos!

I have to admit that, after having a bad experience at with another chiropractor I was not enthused about trying another chiropractor.  However, my neck and shoulder-back pain had become chronic and no amount of massage or acupuncture was relieving the problems.

After only three short sessions with Dr Markos I feel 200% better.  Pain?  What pain?  Dr Markos uses gentle adjustments and a variety of objects to get to the root of the problem.  She knows my body and where it's whacked out better than I do!  Plus, she's very personable and makes an effort to know all of her patients.  I only wished I'd found her sooner!

Only reason why this isn't a five star review is because the wait is sometimes atrocious.  However, I'm willing to wait a whole day to feel as good as Dr. Markos makes me.

I still go here. I still love her!
I get impressed every time she can just pin point where I'm tight/sore/aching after describing it.

Gonna try and make this a short story: Had surger on knuckle at base of hand/first finger. Fast forward 4 months-ish: Hard day of work, hand hurt, so I rubbed it. Too hard apparently, felt it pop with INTENSE pain. Went back to Hand Surgeon. She recommended Physical Therapy. Never got to P/T. Mentioned to Dr. Markos: 2 adjustments, no more pain and no annoying P/T.

*Don't let this scare you off, but occasionally she does run a little late. Bring a book. :-) She's worth it and she cares about her patients. I've been there where she had to have a car accident victim come in not on the schedule because they were in such intense pain.*

And MASSIVE shout out to her receptionist/scheduler/waiting patient amuser! I've gotten to know Miss Susie quite well over these last 3+ years. She is so sweet.

I've been seeing Dr. Markos for almost 10 years. I'm relatively young and have no chronic issues, but am very active and occasionally suffer the consequences of my poor decisions. After each visit with Dr. Markos I experience an immediate increase in my range of motion. Unlike a lot of people in her trade, I trust her completely to not offer me a course of treatment that is beyond what I need. Many chiropractors try to sell you on a package of treatments. I trust her completely and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Still very happy with Dr. Markos! I only need occasional visits at this time (and hopefully even less in the future!) to stay mostly pain free. She has a unique style of adjustment and excellent knowledge of what she's doing.

For those of you who believe in chiropractic but got turned off to it because you went to a chiropractor who didn't help you (like me), I urge you to see Dr. Markos. She is the real deal! I have been seeing Dr. Markos for 10 months for sacroilliac joint pain and she has made such a tremendous difference for me in that time.

She takes time to really understand what is going on in your body and she checks in with you each time you see her (unlike the other chiros I have been to). She then uses that information to customize her treatments. Yes, she uses a "noisy table" for her treatments, but I believe that table, coupled with her extraordinary sensitivity to what is going on in your body, is what makes her so special and so effective.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Markos. She has made a huge difference in my life and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.

Both my husband and I have been patients of Dr. Markos for over 2 years.  I first went there when my back was in such spasms that I could not stand up.  After a few sessions during that week I got progressively better and now only need to go in for a tune up every now and then when my body feels out of alignment.

Do your self a favor and go see Dr. Markos if you are in pain or just want to stay pain free.

Dr. Marcos of North City Chiropractic is brilliant. She has relieved me of back and neck pain that I suffered with for 25 years before finding out about her. I initially went to her out of desperation because I was sick of the pain, how it ran my life, and how it dictated my attitude & drive. I thought I really didn't have anything to lose if she couldn't help me, but I would give Chiropractic treatment one more try after physical therapy, neurological exams, other chiropractors, etc. Nobody was very effective, if at all, and they weren't worth the time, effort & money I put into the appointments.

I'm a different person now and I'm not it pain. I love to be active, do new & difficult things, and I am happy. If I ding my back, neck, wrists, hips, even knees, she knows what to do or figures something innovative out to help me. Her treatments have changed my life and I hope she doesn't ever retire unless she can train someone else how she does her work and how she thinks about it. It's not just the learned techniques she knows, it's how she is able to individualize each treatment for every different person and malady treatable by chiropractics. As I said at the beginning, she is brilliant.

    Thank you Dr. Marcos.

Unless you are bleeding or otherwise know you need to go to the emergency room, I'd go to Dr. Markos first.  I did, and she took away a world of hurt.  Been hit by a car 40 years ago and now have mysterious aches and pains popping up?   Were you in the hospital 'flat on your back' for a week or more lately?  Gotten a transplant and nothing feels right now that you're home?  See Dr. Markos.  Or, had emergency surgery for cancer and lost 50 lbs while in the hospital in recovery and you feel like a rag doll with no strength or muscle tone?  When you can muster the strength to go out in public, go see Dr. Markos.  If you can't handle it if someone needs a little more intense care than you while you're waiting, than your schedule could be flexible for, learn a little patience, and then still see Dr. Markos.  I was all of the above and more these past 2 years and I still see her as needed these days.  Fortunately, she focuses on healing you, not making you a patient for life as so many other Chiropractors do.  How many times have you ever heard of Chiropractors 'fixing' people in just one session?  She works hard to address the cause as well as relieving your symptoms.  I'd say I'm her biggest fan, but I see she has many others too.  Feel better, see Dr. Markos and mend soon.

I went here a few times for neck pain. Dr. Markos treated me on this noisy table that made a loud clunk every time she pushed down on my body. This table makes you think your body is getting great treatment. I think it's just psychological! I didn't think the treatments did anything but she asked me if I felt better about every five minutes. She wanted to feel good about fixing me and I think she truly wanted me to feel better. This therapy just didn't do it for me though.

Dr. Markos is a genuine healer who works with intelligence and compassion. In addition to helping with back pain, she treated arthritis pain in my hands and feet. She is highly educated on all types of health-care and self-care. My family has been seeing her off and on for three years. Highly recommended.

About three weeks ago I hurt my back playing table tennis. I didn't listen to my body and kept playing for a few days, and finally the next Monday, my back was hurting so bad I could barely get off my bed! I felt intense pain when I walked and sat down, so I decided I needed to see a chiropractor for the first time in my life. Thanks to the internet and raving reviews from citysearch, I found North City Chiropractor Health.

During the first visit, Dr. Markos patiently listened to all my concerns and evaluated my condition. She explained each adjustment to me before making it to make me feel comfortable, and also explained to me what was causing the pain in my back, something I really appreciated. After the first adjustment, my back pain didn't improve much. Two days later, after my second adjustment, my back pain dramatically improved! I could hardly believe it!! In fact, I felt so good afterward, that I played table tennis for 2-3 hours each day for the next couple of days, without pain! After two more visits the following week, the back pain had mostly disappeared. During the fourth visit, I told Dr. Markos that I felt a pinching pain right below my chest after my table tennis lesson the night before. She realized what the problem was, and made an adjustment. I didn't immediately feel the pain relieved, but about 20 minutes later, the chest pain was gone!

I highly recommend Dr. Markos to anyone in pain! Susie the receptionist is very friendly and helpful also!

Around 3 years ago I had an inguinal hernia operation. The operation was successful but afterward I noticed a sharp pain in my crotch area whenever I walked. It got progressively worse to where it felt like an electric shock running down my right leg. The surgeon said he might have to operate again and remove the entire nerve running down my leg. Time for a second opinion! The massage therapist I went to referred me to Cheri (Dr. Markos) who examined me and said that if the nerve was removed I'd still have the same problem. She explained that during the operation, I must have been in an awkward position and things got shifted out of alignment. After about 6 visits, the pain was gone! Talk about a miracle worker. Even the surgeon couldn't believe it :)  I forgot all of Cheri's impressive credentials but it goes without saying, she's a chiropractor's chiropractor. I'm damn fortunate to have found her.
