I have been craving Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food for awhile now. I'm from the Detroit area, and since they have the largest Middle Eastern population in the US, I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to Middle Eastern food.
After scanning Yelp, I decided to try Nil's. I have tried Sitti, Neomonde and Sassool in the past, and none of them compared to the food in Detroit. Nil's is a version of Greek food. I ordered the chicken pita lunch special with chicken soup and a side of hummus and pita. Everything is very fresh, but very under seasoned. This food needs more garlic and a little salt. My lunch special came with a drink and I ordered the unsweetened iced tea. It was good and strong. I loved the tea. I guess I just have to get my ME food fix when I return to Michigan.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - G M.Apex, NC3305183Dec 26, 2023
Met with a friend for lunch around 11:15 to get ahead of the normal FQV lunch rush. He' been a few times but this was my first trip to Nil's. Overall, both the food and service were exceptional! Our plates were prepared in a couple of minutes as I eyed the dessert case! I had to choose between two favorites. I chose the "Falafel with Smoked Eggplant." He had 1/2 sandwich with soup which he reported was very good!
For me, usually, when there's eggplant on the menu, I'll go for it because it is often a reliable measure of the cook's skills. Eggplant is not easy to "get right". In Nil's case, I was elated! The falafel was perfectly cooked! The eggplant simply melts in your mouth with a hint of a smoky flavor. So many times the eggplant is served bland - not here! The pita slices were fresh and the presentation, with a generous bowl, was outstanding!
By the time we were finishing ~ 12:00 ish, there was a line at the register and many of the indoor seats were occupied! They have outside seating in the front, weather permitting, which would be super. Yes, I'll be returning.
Note: Please verify their operating days and hours before you go! They are closed a couple days a week. They serve LUNCH only a couple of days per week. They serve dinner ~ 3 days a week. Enjoy! Later.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been to Nil's for lunch and dinner now. Had the Turkish Kofta Platter, which was delicious. Food enough for my lunch the next day. We did get a shareable fried Brussel sprouts. A little salty for my taste, but I still couldn't stop eating them!
Did not get the special, but the family next to us ordered and it looked delicious!
The space is small, but well decorated.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

They recently launched their Sunday Brunch menu and I loved their slow braised short ribs they had as a weekly special, so I knew I had to try the eggs benedict. I also saw another table order the breakfast tacos and they looked so good, so I got one of those as well. The tacos by itself is a whole meal! I took one home because it was so filling! The eggs benedict was my favorite though out of the two. The meat was soft and it was just the perfect balance of savory for a breakfast item.

Glad to see a Mediterranean option in this area. Definitely a great area if you want to hang out on a weekend night. Other businesses are around to visit.
The food was pretty good. The falafel was fresh and seemed homemade. I ordered takeout and the presentation was great as well. The dining area is not that big but definitely comfortable enough to sit and enjoy your meal. Although I don't try them, they also have tempting-looking dessert. Great spot to meet someone for a quick bite to eat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Nil's Mediterranean Cuisine is a very quaint foodie gem with food that's outrageously good but still surprisingly running under the radar. Some people are very kind from the day you meet them and waitress Elizabeth is one such person. She took the time to greet us with warm Southern hospitality and managed to multi-task well. This visit happened to be a leap of faith especially with being a first time customer. The "to-go" order was packed nicely which included a yummy chicken salad plate and a delicious falafel pita. Also the macaroons were a hit! While waiting Elizabeth made Turkish coffee which was very tasty. GOD bless the Nil's staff.

We had a lovely lunch on Nil's sidewalk today. We ordered and paid inside, and they brought our meals out to us.
When I ordered the chicken kabab platter, the server said "good choice." He was right! My meal was huge! It was loaded with well-seasoned chicken, rice, couscous, grape leaves and turkish salad, and I had to take about half of it home. My friend very much enjoyed his pita with chicken, and he polished off the whole thing.
The restaurant is small, but cute and clean. They do a good carry-out business, too. They even have a little sitting area by the storefront window. After we ate, we sat in the very-comfortable chairs and spent some time looking at the cookbooks and magazines they had out. Nil's is a charming place, and I definitely want to return!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sharon P.Raleigh, NC883531Feb 10, 2024
This was 4 out the 6 of us first time at this restaurant. We all really liked our food. The portion sizes are amazing. The food quality and freshness is just as amazing. The service was great as well. We will definitely go back to this place. The owner even came out and greeted us. His son was working real hard and making sure everyone in the restaurant was taken care of. Nice date-night spot or lunch with co-workers or a place to have a nice meal with your friends. Small, quiet and cozy. Not for large parties.
