Welcome to Nikka Fish Market and Grill. Come dine in, take out or buy fresh fish daily at this neighborhood favorite. Enjoy a vast array of ingredients that add up to a wide selection of affordable good fish for food lovers. You will find top-quality seafood at reasonable prices along with a friendly, efficient staff. Order at the counter and sit at a table inside or out. Preparations are a globe-trotting mix, with touches of Mexican, Japanese, Thai, and Sri Lankan spices. Try the pasilla chile stuffed with shrimp or any of the fish tacos (salmon, ahi, and halibut $10-$13) with zippy chipotle sauce. The fish and chips ($10) are excellent, as is the grilled local halibut sandwich ($13), served with fries or house salad. Charbroiled fish platters are a deal ($11-$14) with brown rice or fries, Italian parsley salad, sautéed vegetables, and tartar sauce or mango salsa. Sweet potato fries are a must.

They have an incredible number of options and I have tried at least 20 of them and have never had reason to complain.

Searched for food on Yelp near the airport and this place looked like a tasty option. Came in around opening time and ordered a lobster roll, a couple of oysters and a couple of their special Nikka oysters. Okay the oysters are massive, like as big as your fist. And maybe it was just my batch but these oysters were not good. I have had a LOT of oysters and these ones were unpleasant. Texture, flavor, the sauce accompanying it, all were not good. Had to pop over to TJs to grab some juice to get the taste out of my mouth.
The lobster roll was very average, the brioche bread was good but the lobster itself was just meh.

And have been satisfied each time! You just can't go wrong at Nikka's. Our current favorite are the fish burgers. They are SO GOOD. We almost prefer them to beef burgers now!
10/25/2021Previous reviewThis is my new favorite seafood restaurant! Even though we went around dinner time on a Saturday night, it wasn't too busy and we sat down and got our food with minimal wait.
We got the seafood symphony, stir fry noodles, and sweet potato fries. All the dishes were generously portioned and perfectly cooked. The seafood tasted fresh and savory, and the fries were perfectly crispy. We also ordered a pitcher of beer and the glass came out chilled, which was perfect with our hot seafood dishes. I can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu!

14591333/27/2022Not the most picturesque in terms of location or presentation but wowwwwww you must go to nikka. The fish is so fresh and all the flavors are so yum. Tortillas taste fresh and warm and bring it all together. They also provide you with like 5 different sauces which is fun and all are yummy. Sweet potato fries were great as well. Tuna poke appetizer was fine but fish didn't taste as fresh as did in tacos. 50$ for fries, appetizer and two things of tacos , not bad! you gotta go if your In town, you will not be disappointed! Don't be turned away by it's strip mall location ! Great food and very generous portioning. And nice staff

43668631279/8/2021I was visiting Goleta from out of town for a wedding. We were looking for a place to eat and we all decided on coming to Nikka Fish Market and Grill since it was close to the hotel and the reviews were fantastic here on Yelp.
I had previously had this bookmarked but I don't remember so I was glad that we ended up coming here anyways. The restaurant is a pretty decent size and were a party of seven and we were all able to fit inside of one of the tables fairly well. They have a really big menu here and everything looks so good that it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to eat. I ended up getting the seared ahi tuna burger. The veggies, the tuna, and the buns were all a really good size it was very satisfying. Â The textural contrast all worked really well and it was delicious. Â It came with a side of fries. I was given a choice of either fries or salad. I decided to get the fries in case any body wanted to share some.
My other friends went with a lot of different items as well. One friend got tacos, another one with paella, another got a clam chowder. So it was a big variety and nobody overlapped with their dishes. The staff here is very nice and they were very much on top of things.
There is tons of parking here and very easy to find. And it was a delicious choice and I'm definitely going to come back and try more food the next time I'm back in town.
