This place is gigantic! I was here for a graduation ceremony. Make sure you manage your time well because there is lots of walking and it is a big facility.

Since I am from out-of-state, there is a rideshare pickup for Uber/Lyft at a designated area outside Hall G (or so). The security guard was helpful to direct where I needed to go. Nice looking facility, looks clean. Just lots of walking! I wish there were signs for Uber/Lyft from inside the building so I wouldn't have pissed off my driver for not knowing where I was going. Overwise, it was OK.

I recently attended an ARVO convention and was impressed by the size of this convention center. It was massive! What an excellent choice in venue for a convention of this size!

The building is beautiful and clean, and was only 10 minutes walking distance from my hotel. Very convenient location!

Came here for AANP 2023 national conference. This place is huge so we had the entire end of the conference hall for the NP conference which was great. The place is freezing, so I suggest you bring a sweater. Unfortunately, most of the food options were not open, so that kind of sucked. I was hoping to get PJs coffee here but no luck. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

The convention center staff do a great job of assisting you. My team had a booth at this year's FETC and everyone from lighting, to maintenance, to food services and the folks scanning your badges were kind and super helpful. We had no issues with the venue or process and even when we had self imposed issues, they assisted and tried to help problems solve!

      Food is pretty good too!!!

I was here with family for a volleyball tournament one Saturday for our little cousin. Outside of Hall E and down a little ways was the Atrium where we ended up getting a late lunch due to the games scheduled. I got a Shrimp Po Boy and do not remember the exact cost but it was under $20.00 with a drink. I was not expecting much from a food vendor in a convention center but was pleasantly surprised that this Po Boy was really good. It had hot and crispy fried shrimp with a solid French roll. The remoulade is what really made this whole thing come together with the crisp lettuce and tart pickles. Very solid and we were going to eat there again on Sunday but they were closed that day. If you are in the convention center and in a pinch this Po Boy was real good.

Even as an event planner, I found this convention center a little confusing to navigate. Maybe it's because I'm dyslexic when it comes to numbers. Lots of escalators to different meeting room ranges. Carry a map with you if possible... this place is HUGE. Don't wear high heels. On the bright side, it IS wonderfully air conditioned to protect you from that New Orleans heat. And the meeting spaces themselves are clean and spacious.

When I arrived, I ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich at one of the food concession stands. Very typically overpriced food like at a concert venue. Small portions and dry (washed it down with blue Powerade) but the cashiers were nice. Close proximity to restaurants and bars nearby. Just find the best exit out of the convention center using Google Maps. Overall not my favorite city or venue but perfect for massive events.

Had the wonderful opportunity of being able to attend the essence festival this year in New Orleans Louisiana.
Had a great time and so enjoyable... Experiencing new and interesting things around every corner. One of my favorite was meeting the Wakanda Warriors from Black Panther Film .

Man, this place is HUUUUGE. You definitely will need some good walking shoes for this place. I stopped by the convention center to pick up race materials for the Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon. Fortunately for me, I only had to stick around the convention center for a few minutes and did not need to walk all over the place. At the time (Feb. 2022), the race organizers had a mask mandate, but I'm not sure if you have to wear a mask in the convention center for other events.

I've had more than one event at the convention center. It is a tired old building, though at least it's been through enough renovations to have solid bathrooms and some charging stations. Walking from one end to the other takes fifteen minutes or so (particularly something to bear in mind if wearing dressy shoes). There are innumerable doors, but these days they've taken to locking most of them.

What can be said for it is that it's a downtown location and you can walk to many NOLA attractions. It's also worthy of note that on the outside of the freeway, it is at least conceivable to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to the convention center, though it isn't the best area in terms of having solid roads or being where I would want to leave a nicer car. Maybe someday there will be a big revamp of the center, but for now at least it's an excuse to be in New Orleans.
