I discovered MUSYCA through the directors of MUSYCA: Misha Shtangrud and Anna Krendel. I sang under Misha with the Burbank Chorale. I have had a long career as a soloist and choral performer and I think Misha is the best conductor I've ever had. My ten and six year old boys started singing with MUSYCA recently and they absolutely love it! They practice their music every day not because I've asked, but because they WANT to. That is the beauty of Misha as a conductor and teacher. He makes singing and learning music fun and my boys look forward to it every week. I'm so glad that Misha and Anna have started a program that teaches the gift of music at such a young age. YAY MUYSCA!

Misha and Anna both provide heaven-sent musical instruction. My son is being supplied with both Musicianship and Vocal Training Skills privately with Dr. Misha. I enjoy that Misha is accommodating and enthusiastic and revels in my son's personal musical growth, as do I. We both appreciate Misha's verbal clarity and creative visualization skills. He makes it easily understandable how to hit notes, voice projection, singing falsetto, and breathwork.

In my search for quality music education, I found that most classes or schools hired inexperienced college students or staff to teach music to younger children. Not. Good. Then, I stumbled across Dr. Misha, Dr. Krendel and MUSYCA. During the pandemic, I had the added benefit of "monitoring" classes via Zoom and was absolutely astounded at the quality of education and repertoire presented in the most positive, fun ways I've ever witnessed. Because Dr. Misha, who has an incredibly extensive resume, teaches the students, they are exposed to the best immediately. Technique and musicianship are bundled up in so much singing, fun and respect! The music is ever-flowing and Dr. Misha is a wizard educator. These kids are getting such a high-quality foundation, it's an absolute no-brainer for us. Needless to say, we have continued through in person classes and there's not a kid that walks out of choir that isn't smiling. The executive director and virtuoso pianist, Dr. Krendel, does an outstanding job of finding extra, non-required live performance and recording studio opportunities for the kids (including performances on PBS, at the Kia Forum, sessions for UNICEF and much more) in addition to the outstanding winter and spring programs for the community. As the choirs are divided by age, there is plenty of room for social emotional and musical growth. Many friends will be made! Truly a home away from home. It is a private choir, and the value and investment in the students out-ways the cost. They do have scholarships. MUSYCA has already become and will continue to be one of the best investments in my child's education and growth as well as one of the best sources of amazing memories for our family.

Musyca offers a wonderful music program that engages children of all ages. My kids have happily sung along with Misha and Anna for years, learning so many beautiful songs (sometimes in other languages) and having fun in the process. The end of semester concerts are very enjoyable because all of the age groups come together and the repertoire is always on point. Musyca provides plenty of opportunities to expose the children to different events and performing scenarios all over LA. They also have annual tours all around the world for those interested. It's a great way to get kids to appreciate music and be exposed to quality musicians and venues in a nurturing environment.

Recently Established Choir taught by Dr. Misha Shtangrud and Anna Krendel. Misha is a phenominal teacher who getts across to the smallest of children, yet keeps it interesting and enticing for the more mature singer.
FInds repertoire that is varried and interesting. Misha has the patience of a saint. I enjoy watching him teach the children and the children all love him. My daughter has a blast learning different kinds of music. This is something that San Fernando Valley needed for a long time. Considering that local schools have seized providing any kind of musical education this choir is a true non denominational dream come true for the valley.

Anna has the right idea!!! With too many schools getting rid of their music programs, this woman is giving local children, that have music in their blood, somewhere to go. This is a fantastic program and it should be out there in the community more. Music saves a lot of children from going down the wrong path, just like sports. If I didn't have music programs growing up, I could not even imagine where I would have ended up. Anna is doing a GREAT THING and more people need to support what she is doing!!!!!

Anna and Misha have such as wonderful technique and connection to the children that participate in the choir. We signed up our six-year-old son with Musyca and he blossomed from the instruction and vocal lessons taught by Musyca. He got to perform in the Burbank tree lighting ceremony and several recitals. The class has given him tons of self confidence performing in front of large audiences and he looks forward to the performances. He loves to come home and sing the songs and can't wait to the next week's rehearsals. This children's choir is such as great addition to the San Fernando Valley's arts offering, especially since the public schools don't invest enough into the arts for our children. I hight recommend Musyca for any child interested in music and singing.

I signed up my 6 year old daughter with the Musyca choir as soon as they opened their doors last fall. Director creates such a warm, nurturing and fun atmosphere that children forget to be bored. And if someone is slacking off, he has just the right words of encouragement to get the child back "in the game," so to say. My daughter loves to sing, but she was never the one to perform in front of the audience, she always shied away. But she is now singing constantly, she wants to demonstrate to us all the songs they are learning, she enjoys having an audience. And the songs are fun too. My favorite are "Edelweiss" and "The spring." For any child who likes to sing, Musyca Choir is the place to be! I wholeheartedly recommend it.
