The Napa Valley is steeped in sunshine, flavor, and beauty. A simple yet sophisticated place, it's always been about great food and great wine -- no fuss. In the springtime, the mustard flower blooms and covers the Valley floor in a carpet of yellow. When the restaurant was being built, it was this carpet that inspired the name Mustards. Since opening in 1983, Mustards Grill has been serving farm-to-table fare that celebrates the flavors of our California home. Award-winning chef Cindy Pawlcyn has crafted a menu of favorites, using ingredients from our own garden or curated carefully, with an eye towards continuing to be a "localvore." Join us for a glass of blue chip wine and a dish made to make you happy.…

Hubs and I celebrated our anniversary here a few nights ago. I really wanted their famous Mongolian Pork Chop wih the mouth watering sauce.

We were seated right away near the window, facing the dining room and kitchen (my favorite view) and immediately served 2 glasses of champagne for a celebratory toast.

Our server greeted us with a bright smile, setting the mood for the rest of the evening. She shared the chalkboard specials, having it practically memorized it.

We started off with sweet corn tamales, that Hubs knew I'd been eyeing without even asking if I wanted it knowing how corn is my best friend, amongst other must haves. He always gets all things Ahi Tuna-is as the man has to have some sort of raw fish, where ever he goes, even if the establishment doesn't specialize in it.

The sweet corn was love at first bite. It immediately brought me back to a memory of when we were in Cabo where we bought the most amazing homemade tamale from a nice lady at a street corner WAAAY before Covid, ofc. This tamale is worth praising about that I wished we took the suggestion of the server to add another one as it only came with two. But, this left room for more dessert.

The Tuna on the other hand was just...alright. It wasn't the freshest...then again, nothing is as fresh at the restaurants in Oahu where it's caught every morning. So, I may be a little bias here.

After enjoying the apps that quickly came out, sipping on a spiked peach lemonade (high recommend as the flavors were perfectly balanced), Hubs savoring his glass of HunniCutt, complimenting all the late harvest notes of his Cab, even saying it to be comparable to my favorite Caymus Special Selection. WHAT. By the time the server made her way around again, we decided on our main.
In the end, we chose King Salmon (DD's fav), Hanger Steaks (a go-to for Hubs), and ofc the pork chop for me.
I had bites of the salmon cooked medium with that amazing creamy corn sauce (did I mention how much I love corn? ) Deelish! I also sampled a bite of Hubs hanger steak with this creamy looking based herb sauce that complimented the dish well.
Finally, the long awaited....pork chop. I love the first bites with the pickled cabbage and smooth mash potatoes. The sauce was just how I remembered it. Toward the end, I realized that the pork started to taste a bit....chewy. Come to find out when I cut along the bone that the center was a tad bit raw, to which I stopped eating, already full at that point.
I had every intention of informing the server, however I was engaged in a nice conversation that when she appeared again, my plate had already been bussed away, all ears of her recommended dessert selections.
We were having a hard time deciding on two out of the three (Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Peach Cobbler, and Butterscotch Pots De Creme). There are must haves whenever I dine out but we didn't want to be too glutinous that night, still having to make the drive home without being too uncomfortable around our waistline. After saying the PUSD was her fav, DONE. Along with the Butterscotch.
I love to end meals on a sweet note. And Mustards did not disappoint in this department. Kudos to the pastry chef. As much as I love corn, all things pineapple is up there too. So you KNOW I've eaten my fair share of PUSD cake in my lifetime. Hands down, my ultimate favorite, even surpassing the one from a famous chef in HI , which held it's reign in my books for YEARS. This was the same for the butterscotch pudding. So flavorful, nice smooth texture.

      Overall, great night!

We made a reservation but still waited about 10-15 mins. Ordered one of their daily special and the server got it wrong, didn't make a fuss and just ate what was served to me and thankfully it was great. Calamari needs a revamp, hated the salad that came with it.

It was my first time visit Mustards and what a delight! We had a reservation for 11:00 which was perfect before the crowd arrived. We had a party of three and each item we ordered was unique and just delicious! I had to taste all three!
Lennie was a very nice host and new the menu well and was able to help us make the right choices for our dishes. I had the Lemon and Garlic Chicken with vegetables, mashed potatoes and it was just superb! My friends had the famous Pork Chops and Tostada Fish special! We were all happy with our choices!
As for the dessert it was a difficult choice since we were all full but we decided on the Lemon Lime Tart with meringue! OMG it was fabulous probably the best I have had. The meringue part is super tall and very beautifully presented. We shared it and I am so glad we did because it was a large portion! We can't wait to come back an try some other dishes on the menu. FYI: Great location!

Napa has some great eats. Some of the best Farm to Table restaurants. Mustards Grill has been won Robert Mondavi Culinary award and a two times James Beard nominee. Known for their Mongolian Pork Chop- definitely one of the best pork I've ever had. Why try something else if they are known for something. The mustard sauce was amazing (I'm not a mustard fan but love this). The sweet and sour cabbage slaw was perfect with the mashed potatoes.

My family also got to try their halibut which was cooked perfectly with great flavors. Pasta was fresh and light.

Must get their onion straws with fresh house made ketchup.

Make sure to make room for their desserts , which were heavenly - pineapple upside down cake and Lime Tart!!!

Our server knew the menu well and service was great.
They did take our temperatures before seating us down.

We came hungry and left quite satisfied. Came up from Los Angeles to the wine country and to have dinner only to find out that a lot of the wineries were closed mid week.

Instead, we kept our reservations as planned and spent a couple of nights in Tahoe and back for dinner. Check in was easy. The hostess was very sweets. Working left and right checking people in, answer calls, temperature check and seating all the guest. All with a smile and friendly service. Outdoor dining was available as well as inside. The outdoor dining was located in the garden area surrounded with strung lights for the al fresco dining experience. Beautiful but can get chilly in the evening. We were seated inside which was nice as it was starting to get a little windy. The menu was great. One dish after another all looked so good. Wine list was quite exquisite as well.

Started off with a few starter dishes to share. You look at it like, if we share we could get a bunch of things to try. And boy did we share. From the starter to main meals. Everything was great. All the dishes had its unique flavor. And of course, we had the pork chop that they're known for. It didn't disappoint. The steak, fish was all amazing as well. Ribs was good but could use a side of sauce incase. Beside that, it was all amazing. Even after the whole spread of deliciousness, there's always still room for dessert. We shared the cheesecake, pineapple upside down cake and an order of the cornbread as well.

Food was great, service was excellent. Beautiful location.

Grill-- birthday lunch with friend and sister. Wine got there super late.

Meat loaf was amazing! Pleasantly surprised with the food quality. The menu is a daily extensive menu and the server did not provide great recommendations fortunately the manager stepped in to fill the gaps to make us more comfortable. We dined on a chilly Napa day and unfortunately no one checked to ensure our heat lamp was working until after our meal. Lol! All in all enjoyed the scallops, meat loaf and pork chop!

Calamari was unique flavor and it was a different approach. We had the Thai soup and it was flavorful!

Would go back for sure! Ambiance was a really nice outdoor session with a lovely group of people . Feel like you're having dinner in some one else's garden .very cute

Love this place! Only been here a few times, but really go to town on their food during Bottlerock. However, after a day of wine tasting, we stopped by to have a few snacks outside and it was just so lovely! We had rockstar treatment by their amazing manager! We ordered onion rings, calamari and the ahi, but he also strongly recommended the sweet corn tamales and the merengue... and they were fantastic!! If you like merengue, it's a tower of merengue! So delicious. Will obviously be back! (And obviously chow down on their food at Bottlerock in the future!)

Raised prices at Bottle Rock to take advantage of people, which by the way, will not be returning to your restaurant. Service at the show for that price = HORRIFIC. Stick to what you know.

A drive over the hill from Sonoma County for a Napa Valley dining experience...Very much enjoyed. Greetings from a super friendly hostess being seated to our great waiter Lonnie and staff. Enjoyed a cocktail of the day and Ahi Tuna crackers to start the fun. My girlfriend ordered a Sparkling wine flight while I had the Pinot Noir selection of 3.
Bring on the Pork Chop! Girl had the lamb and I must say the chop is everything it was reputed to be...Fantastic! Chocolate tart with espresso ice cream and a lemony treat to send us off were real highlights. A little espresso to wake me from a food coma and Port just because...Yep...A great dining experience. Two hours later we headed back to Sonoma County very happy...Go ahead and enjoy. Cheers!

Met up with out of town guests. One of the few restaurants in the Napa area that has been around for decades. The reason is consistency and good food. Not the fanciest but that's OK. Pork Chop super moist and flavorful. All the salads are a great choice with the freshest produce used. This restaurant is popular so don't expect a quiet intimate meal. Enjoy the enthusiasm of all the diners and staff.
