Excellent!
Includes dedicated areas for the Seattle music scene with separate areas for Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana.
Well put together.
The museum seems to have a DJ curating music to be displayed onto the giant screen and life musical performances.

Visited this museum and had a good time. It is located downtown, very close to the space needle and close to public transportation. In the museum itself, there is a lot to see. If you are a music fan, movie/cinema fan, sci-fi fan, this is a great place! The designs and structures are very unique, and they are quite big.
The staff is wonderful too. Very helpful in guiding us and answering all our questions. They also have a coat room downstairs that's very convenient, as I went during really cold weather and did not want to carry my huge coat around with me while moving through the different exhibits.
Would highly recommend visiting this museum if you are in the area!

For some reason, I had very low expectations of this museum. Perhaps it is because I have certain opinions (fairly low, if I'm being honest) of pop culture. But I had a really good time here.
Architecturally, the building is extremely cool. The interior design is great, too.
Some of the exhibits are just fine but, in all honesty, they are pretty static. The Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and guitar exhibits are all good but other than doing a lot of reading and looking at photographs or objects, there is not much going on to engage the viewer.
On the other hand, the Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Horror Film exhibits were extraordinary. Someone put a ton of time, thought, and energy into making these exhibits exceptional. The decor is fantastic. I could have spent far more time than I actually did in all of these exhibits.
We probably spent over 3 hours here. We probably could have stayed a little longer.
Even if you're not into pop culture, this museum is well worth a visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 20241 check-in
Very nice place to chill indoors with your family and friends. All things pop from music, Hollywood movies, games, etc. Old, Current and future trends in pop culture are all here. Very friendly staff! There's a coat and water bottle check in counter at the front desk. Different recording rooms and mini studios are pretty cool!

This place is so cool! The exterior itself is amazing! You can get your tickets at kiosks or go to the counter.
There are several galleries and exhibitions--Nirvana, Jimmy Hendrix, a guitar gallery, science fiction, horror movie, fantasy, video gaming, and more. Right now, there is a Keith Haring exhibit, and I loved it. There is a sound lab where you can do everything from play a "guitar" to old school scratching and mixing.
Your trip to Seattle must include MoPop!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 21, 2024
Museum of Pop Culture is definitely a museum like no other. We enjoyed our visit here. This is a must experience and must see. It's home to the world's most immersive pop culture experiences, showcasing iconic moments in TV, rock n roll music, science fiction, and much more.
We loved all the exhibits. They were all amazing but our favorite exhibits were Hidden Worlds: Films of Laika, Massive: The Power of Pop Culture, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the masses, Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic and last Scared to Death: The Thrill of Horror Film. We spent almost 6 hours here just soaking up each and every exhibit. This museum is not only educational but also very nostalgic.
We can't wait to visit Museum of Pop Culture again this summer.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 12, 2024
Unfortunately, did not live up to the grand exterior. The exhibitions are nicely done, especially the sci-fi and fantasy section but I came away feeling none (maybe excluding the sci-fi section) of it was extensive enough. However, I mainly went for their special exhibition and that was fantastic.
I visited back in August and I expected more from a pop culture museum. What was on display was nice, and the fantasy and scifi sections were outstanding with its decor. But apart from the scifi section, all the other sections felt too small/short. The horror section was temporarily closed and that didn't help with the amount of things to see. I passed on the interactive zones since it was packed, but maybe if you have kids it'll be a good place to visit.
Considering the ticket prices, I would've been disappointed had I gone for their non-special ticketed exhibits. But I went for the Laika exhibition and it was 5/5. It was very impressive, they had different sections for each of the movies they made and the decor matched the movie. Loved seeing the behind the scenes of Laika!
Tickets can be purchased in advance and it's a couple of dollars cheaper if you buy it a couple of days prior.
I'd visit this museum again if there's a special exhibit but probably not for its permanent exhibitions unless they expand.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2024
I'm not sure if it was the Terror or Horror exhibit of the museum that was closed off, but we were really hoping to see that one & we couldn't. bummer.
however the rest of the museum was beautiful, interactive, family friendly & engaging! Definitely check it out if you haven't been before.

Located right next to the Seattle Space Needle, MoPOP has various different exhibits, grouped into various sections of the building. When you enter, the huge guitar sculpture with about 500 instruments will take your breath away.
My personal favorite was the sci-fi and fantasy sections, but my boyfriend and I did have a pretty cool experience for the horror as well. We made sure to get in with a crowd of other people, since I got freaked out with the creepy noises and eerie red lights haha. Other fun activities include the Sound Lab, where you can try out all different types of instruments, as well as some DJing or mixing.
This museum was definitely worth going as part of our Seattle trip, it was actually part of the CityPass package deal for discounted ticket prices. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the city and interested in various pop culture/music/cinema!
