Mr Gatti's Pizza

While in Martinsville if you're craving pizza, salad, spaghetti, cheesy garlic bread go here. They have a great fresh salad bar and spaghetti, mac and cheese, garlic bread, and all different types of pizzas as well as dessert pizzas. They had an apple dessert pizza and cinnamon stick pizza with icing and then they brought out a Bavarian desert pizza. Oh my! It was so good! It was warm and it had a delicious crumble topping on it. They didn't just have pepperoni, sausage, and cheese either. They had bbq chicken pizza - great - and one I hadn't tried yet which was the chicken bacon ranch pizza they offered.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and we've always had good experiences here. While leaving we saw 2 University of Illinois Fighting Illini buses on their way to Bloomington for the football game. I'm sure those players could wipeout the pizzas at Mr. Gatti's in a heartbeat. :-)

This update review is for carry out service only. The self serve salad bar is back! Their potato salad is not back yet as they are rolling out the salad bar is phases but at least you can build your own to-go salad instead of receiving a prepackaged salad.

Even though ground beef is not listed under their available toppings they do have it because they offer a Cheeseburger Specialty pizza. I ordered ground beef, Canadian bacon, bell peppers and onions. This is the same as I ordered a couple of nights ago from Papa John's. I want you to compare my half and half photo of Gatti's pizza (on the right side) with Papa John's on the left. Pizza Hut usually looks the same as Papa John's. Note the sparse toppings. In my opinion, this is what they do to offer cheap prices. Even if you ask for double of an ingredient, you still don't get that much more. In other words, even if you are willing to pay more they are not willing to give you more. The national chain pizza restaurants have deteriorated drastically into some kind of self-inflicted pizza wars. I'm going to stick with local pizza places and avoid national chains altogether.

Average pizza. All you can eat. Good place for kids. Has ice cream and salad bar too. Game room.

Overpriced for the quality & selection of food available. Pizza was subpar & the salad bar was barely that.

I won't be going back as there are plenty of better pizza options. I'd rather pick a salad from my garden.

We went there today Aug 21 2023 . And I've been going there every since they opened.. so 40 years I've been going there.. today the spaghetti sauce was watered down .. just watery like water and tomato juice.. first time in 40 years it was like that .
We was even there last Thur and it wasn't like that . I hope they was just running low and had to water it down to stretch it today.. I hope that isn't going to watered down from now on.
We're going to give them the benefit of the doubt ..and hope it was just a today thing for some reason.
We will go back again in a couple weeks. It was so watered down and thin you could tell just by looking at the pan... if we go back again and can tell by looking. We won't even order just leave . Sad after 40 years it was always good sauce.. but not today watered down today.. watered down a lot ..

Great place for family's. Something for everyone and a great buffet . The people that work there are so nice. Can't wait to come back in now that they are open again!

Been going to Gatti's for years. Usually when grandchildren were in town visiting.
Gatti's caters to children and young families. Dingy with large TVs blaring and coin operated games sitting unused the place when I visited recently was very unappealing. It appeared that this space has not been remodeled in years.
The buffet line had not been restocked when I visited. The soup was covered with a heavy scum and the pasta was sticky and old looking. There was one fresh pizza the other offering were dry and picked over.
The salad bar looked decent and the cottage cheese was white and creamy.
In generally the pizza was very ordinary.
If you have grandchildren visiting this maybe the place to visit. Otherwise you will be disappointed.

We've only ever gotten carry out here so I can't comment on the dining experience, but this is one of my favorite pizza places hands down. While it is a chain, it's not a common one -- and I grew up with one in my hometown and this is the only one within reasonable driving distance.

Classic pizza, however you want it. Online ordering is super easy and quick, and we've not really had a problem with picking it up. (Just remember you have to sign!)

Highlights for us: simple sausage and/or pepperoni with extra cheese, the cheese sticks are *the* best, and cinnamon sticks with streusel crumbs with icing drizzled on top. I'm a fan of the dessert pizzas (Dutch Apple, Cherry, or S'mores) but they are quite indulgent and you may not want more than one piece. (My wife is not a fan!)

Definitely check this place out, it doesn't disappoint!

Found this little gem when we were driving home from Lake Monroe. Great staff and a great selection of tasty food at a very reasonable price. Great pizza options, including dessert pizza, salad bar, pasta, ice cream, and more. Really hit the spot after a long day on the lake.

Good food but not much of a variety of pizzas price is fair help not great but not bad
