Ask the Community
Q:
Are rice noodles available for noodle dishes?
A:
I asked if they had rice noodles, and I was informed the noodles are made from sweet potato. I don't know if they have other noodle options.
Ginger K.Â3 years agoQ:
Do they serve barchan or small side dishes with the bibimbap?
A:
There are some banchan offerings. They're served inside the clay pot, along the edge, not in side dishes per usual. Hope this helps.

The food was amazing! You have to get the hot stone pot. I usually get white rice, spicy pork and bulgogi. With all the fixings and a fried egg on top. So delicious and very flavorful. Gochujang and spicy mayo sauce on top and mix well. I like to leave my rice a little longer where it's nice and crispy at the bottom before I mix it all together. Also, try their fried chicken and sample all their sauces
I loved the mom and pop type feel inside. Every time we come the nice older couple is very accommodating. Inside is a bit small but they have outside seating. I would rate it 9/10 and would definitely recommend everyone to try it. - Anna R.Torrance, CA1330213241/28/2023
Bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish made of rice, meat, veggies, and chili sauce. Simply put, think of it as a Korean version of Chipotle.
This Chipotle-style bibimbap (where you pick your town toppings and sauces) is not a traditional Korean thing. You probably won't see anything like it in Korea. But I think it's a brilliant idea and great for first-timers (and/or picky eaters) so they can pick and choose the things they want!
Get the hot stone bowl if you're dining in! It's well worth the extra dollar. Mix your bowl, but try to leave the sides (parts that are touching the stone bowl) untouched so that over time it creates a crispy edge that you can scrape off and eat later.
All of us really enjoyed our bowls!
P.s. don't get the chicken. It ain't good. - 632536181/2/2023
Mr Bibi is one of the best in the area.
Bi bimbap done right and right in front of you with your choice of protein chicken, pork, beef, or tofu and plenty of healthy greens they bring the yummy flavors of Korea to OSide.
Cute little restaurant with very friendly people ready to serve you hot or cold bowl (your choice). The place is clean with plenty of seating for a small group. If you're into Korean fast food give Mr Bibi a try, you'll be glad you did. - 5092329104811/13/2022
Mr. Bibi is an wonderful additional to Downtown Oceanside with its fast casual set up and healthy options.
Ordering here is similar to CAVA or Chipotle where you choose a bowl option with your base, protein, and toppings. My favorite is to choose noodles over rice and to always get a fried egg on top. You can add Korean hot sauce (gochujang) once at your table.
Each experience here, the food has been divine! - 1055428/6/2022
My husband and I came here on a Friday night. It was kind of busy but it also happened to be the first Friday of the month which is the city art walk so there were a lot of people in the area.
We both ordered the hot pot ($2 extra) but worth it for the crispy rice! The rice comes sizzling in a hot stone and the bottom gets crispy which I love. You can also choose a classic bowl and take it to go.
You order in a subway style line with several choices of base (fried rice, brown rice, white rice, or noodles), we both had fried rice.
Next you choose your meat, there were several options. My husband had beef bolgogi and I had spicy chicken. Then you can choose from an array of veggies and toppings (fried egg, corn, cheese, pineapple, jalapeño, kale, potato, carrot, bean sprout, cucumber, kimchi, etc.).
The sweet lady asked if we wanted sesame oil, it seems like everyone in line including us had sesame oil added. Then you can ask for sauce on the side or if you are eating there they will put the sauces on your table. I really liked the spicy teriyaki sauce and the spicy mayo sauce.
Once you are done ordering they take your hot pot into the back and bring it out to you SIZZLING hot! They brought us each a fork and spoon, I also heard someone ask for chopsticks which they also have. The spoon works best for mixing and scaling the crispy goodness off the bottom of the stone mmmmm yummy. The inside of the restaurant is kind of small but they had a surprising amount of seating both inside and outside.
They have a restroom outside true back, ask the front worker for a key. I didn't use it so I can't speak too much on that but it is available.
They have fountain drinks, as well as some bottled soda, water, beer and soju.
When you are done with your meal they have to go containers for left overs, and if you get the hot pot there is a shelf near the trash can to put your tray and pot.
The portion size is pretty large. For smaller appetites or lunch you could definitely share.
I will be coming back here to try the chicken strips they looked really good! The price is reasonable for what it is, but a little more on the expensive side. For 2 bowls (with extra charge for hot stone) and 2 fountain drinks it was $40... but so worth every penny! - Shaun A.Oceanside, CA1105/21/2023
I tried to go here once a week. Loved their bibimbap bowls; no other place does them like this. The service and food were always great. It is a true shame that this place closed due to the winter storms. I am not sure where I can go now to get my bibimbap fix.

Customer service was great here!! They may be the owners of the establishment, the older guy was super nice. Even though it was busy, he made time to come over and chit chat with us, and he even brought my daughter a little container of pickled daikon, and made jokes.
I'm not from around here, but the food and customer service was awesome!
You should definitely stop by and give this place a try. There's street parking everywhere. - 121165125/29/2022
Nice option for Korean food in downtown Oceanside. Parking can be kind of a pain but you can usually find something within a block or two.
First time in, husband and I each got the hot stone bowl bibimbap. It's pretty much Subway or Chipotle style, to create your bowl and then pay. Choice of base (white, brown or fried rice or glass noodles or a combo), protein - we both went with the bulgogi, and then choice of all different toppings. Kimchi, spinach, onion, corn, cheese, pineapple and more. Egg on top? Of course!
Then they heat up the bowl and bring it out to you. Â The bowls hold so much heat, I swear the food got hotter in temp as I ate! Good, but on the salty side, especially if adding any of the sauces they give you on a carousel of options (teriyaki, spicy teriyaki, spicy mayo, gochujang, sriracha).
Real question: Are you supposed to continuously mix the bowl to avoid the rice burning on to the bottom? I know the crispy bits are a thing, but some of mine were welded to the bowl practically! Wondering if I made a mistake in not stirring earlier.
They have drinks in a cooler or soft drink machine around the corner (I didn't see the soft drink machine when I was paying so didn't realize it was an option.
A guy who came in right after us got the chicken wings and said they were good - light, crispy coating and really good dipping sauce with a little heat to it.
A little pricy (prices have definitely gone up from some of the earlier menu pics) - about $45 for 2 bowls and 2 bottled sodas. - 801277264/10/2022
Love Mr. Bibi! We drive over an hour to grab a bite here.
I always order the bibimbap in a hot stone bowl; they have other items on the menu that look great, but their bibimbap is perfect.
Step 1: Choose your bowl (classic/paper bowl or hot stone bowl)
Step 2: Choose your base (white rice, brown rice, fried rice, noodles, salad, or half & half for a surcharge)
Step 3: Choose a protein (chicken breast, fried chicken breast, spicy pork, beef/bulgogi, or organic tofu)
Step 4: Choose any of the following: kimchi, jalapenos, kale, corn, cheese, pineapples, carrots, bean sprouts, onions, cucumber, spinach, potatoes, green onions, mushroom, fried egg, sesame seeds, sesame oil
They have a good variety of sauces as well (teriyaki, spicy teriyaki, soy sauce, gochujang, sriracha, and spicy mayo).
They offer fountain drinks, bottled drinks, and alcohol.
They were so packed today (Sunday afternoon) and the owners killed it on their own. Love their food, but knowing that you're supporting a small business run by kind people is the cherry on top.
Outdoor and indoor seating available, great location, great food, run by cool people. They need to open a location in San Diego, definitely worth the trip though.
