Motor City Soul Food

The best part for me was they had a drive- thru. I was in Detroit Michigan visiting family and decided to check out this location of Motor City Soul Food. I stuck to this location because the other location on Seven Mile well let's just say it was for my safety. I ordered the rib dinner and mac and cheese and dressing as my side and 7UP pound cake for dessert. The cornbread was thick and I was really anticipating it to be good but it was not and everything went downhill from there the cornbread dressing was not cooked all the way through.. the ribs were tender and it was a good portion. The macaroni and cheese was not stellar.

Not very helpful with when they will closed, big inconvenience when people drive from a far, not even on phone message or online not good

This IS my go to restaurant ( I don't do fast food places ( at all anymore ) the items I get are good as expected but it appears at times they have switched cooks .. but as of Oct 2nd 2023 ( I'm adding the date because several sites on here are claiming that the 7 mile location is closed ... they are back on track .... Only problem I have is when I order more than ONE LARGE side item . Neither of them get filled and they SKIMP on those orders ... I'm starting to think perhaps I SHOULD just order two regular sides and hope I don't get JIPPED on them . Also I'm taking a away because they DON'T have their DAYS and HOURS of operation on the entrance door .... And NO ONE was there at 11:30 on a Monday and I assumed they were open because an online site claimed they were

Not as good it use to be, but I still gave it 5 stars because they are at least still trying. I probably won't be back unless they improve the food quality. The customer service is great but the food quality has gone downhill!

stop putting seasoning salt in the macaroni and cheese it's horrible and make sure your meatloaf is done before you serve it my meatloaf is still red in the middle the only thing good that i had was yams that's sad i give this food a one

My favorite soul food spot! I stop here and get food anytime I'm in Detroit. Sundays is probably the best day to go because they have everything available. Lines are usually out the door on sundays but it's worth the wait. Be prepared to spend but they give you good portions for your money

Second car in the drive thru, wait time wasn't had. Wanted Turkey Breast Dinner with greens and dressing. One of the cooks called off sick so didn't get that. Went with bake chicken breast, dressing and Mac and cheese. Food was good but the Mac and cheese wasn't good, not that much cheese in it. No corn bread that day either.Staff was very pleasant, great attitude. Prices were comparable to other places. Probably will try again in a few months.

Mmm...continued excellence. I ordered a smothered chop dinner with Mac and cheese and greens. Delicious and perfectly seasoned, with plenty of pepper to compliment the rich and creamy macaroni and cheese. Their greens are easily my favorite available in a restaurant. Perfectly cooked without being too soft and with an outstanding flavor.

The line moves quickly, parking isn't too bad and the portions are so generous! Another outstanding experience from this wonderful and convenient establishment.

I looove coming here for a meal of blackeye peas, yams, collards, and spaghetti. Yuuuummmm. They have spaghetti with or without cheese!! I just love that. ALL the sides are good. I've had many of them.
they have a lot of meats. I've not tasted the ribs, smothered liver, nor turkeyy necks, just to name a few. Can't speak on that. I haven't had the pork chops but I can tell they're good. I'm not getting anymore wing dinners for $15. It's four wings. Kroger's got 8 Amish wings that is between $6-7. Goto Costco and get a gallon of canola oil, and you good. Savons have packs of approx 15 wings that is 11 and some change. All y'all single middle aged men that make up the bulk of their customers better learn how to cook. Or find you a woman.

BEST SOUL FOOD EVER. Best soul food of all time.

I think I saw the face of god while eating this. Really and truly. I had meatloaf and sweet potatoes, I want to come back for the 7up cake.
