A predatory institution. An institution that uses sly tactics to be unhelpful and steal money. They also do not want Chicago residents to attend their school They're attempting to use the state of Illinois to collect money for classes never attended. Classes signed up for using their online platform suddenly would not work to drop classes. The classes were being dropped because they refused to accept financial aid to pay for the classes. Once they informed me that they would not allow financial aid to pay for classes since it was Summer classes, I informed them that I could not pay for them and they needed to be dropped. I also informed them that their online tool would not allow the classes to be dropped, it was giving an error. I made numerous phone calls advising them of the issues I was experiencing, they in turn did nothing and referred me to collections in an effort to gain money for classes never taken and make a negative financial impact on me. It is actually disgusting that the state of Illinois allows this and I guess this will teach a Chicago people to stay away.

A very nice and modern school. It has diversified nationalities. It is very clean all over the campus. I am so happy there is no graffiti no where on campus.
I only wish that all the consolers will answers the right questions. Every time I go some one tell me
The wrong answer. Consolers should be trained to answer every question on the spot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0May 13, 2015Previous reviewI am a proud parent because my son attends Moraine Valley he was in the Presidents list and now he is in the Dean's List. He will be receiving his Associates Degree and will be transferring to either Roosevelt or St. Xavier University. I am here with him today because today is his last day of his finals. We just need to ask a few questions to the advisors for the next semester. I am happy that my son made the sacrifice to come on the bus from midway in the cold weather. I love this school and the atmosphere. Everyone here is friendly. It also has a variety of different ethnic back ground. Is like a small world in a modern school.

This campus is absolutely gorgeous. You have to be reminded that it's a junior college because the campus is so large.
I cannot speak to the academics of this institution, but I can speak to the cleanliness. I've visited this campus several times in the past, and I'm always blown away by how beautiful it is on every visit. The campus is always clean and never crowded.
I'm sure the grounds keeper are paid a lot of money to keep up with the labor of keeping this campus looking flawless.
I wish all the students well that have committed to this institution for classes towards their own personal growth and development.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Jan 11, 2016
This place is a giant scam! I always told myself I never wanted to go to college because it's such a giant waste of money and a bigger waste of my time. Guess what, I was right. I did my 2 years in a year and a half (twice taking summer courses) and the whole time I was learning IT stuff, they don't teach anything, they don't help you prepare for any type of certification and they expect me to pay for something that needs to be renewed every few years while everyone is certified for life and they brag about it.
I wish the lectures were more hands on because I honestly learned nothing throughout my time here except this was a huge mistake. I got my degree though but I don't feel proud of it, I refuse to get any certifications because I haven't been properly taught. In class half the time they'll be like " Just go on YouTube & watch professor messer." How about no, I want to learn from you since you're the professionals. They complain about pay alot too, we'll i'm sorry. My degree proves nothing, nor can I get a professional job in my field.
The whole job reseach center is a joke! I prefer to use Craigslist/Monster over that. In between classes I enjoyed spending my time in Super Smash tournaments in the U building, that's all I liked there. Other than that, I hated this place alot... Here's the thing about college degrees if 50,000 people graduate with the same degree that you get every year what prestige does my degree have amongst everyone else? A college degree is just nothing but a worthless expensive piece of paper that never guarantees a job and that's the dirty truth about college!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Antonia K.Orland Park, IL2271Jun 24, 2019
School admin is horrible. The school president doesn't care about the students or to listen to the students and screws them over on purpose. Advisors do not know their job. Made me take classes which were not needed for the degree at UIC so they caused me to have a huge debt. Financial aid can't answer questions or gives wrong answers to the students. All this school cares about is money. Will not be going back and will deff steer everyone away from this school.

An exceptional college with faculty members that genuinely/wholeheartedly care about their students to ensure a successful experience and graduation. A very safe and outgoing community. Overall, a wonderful college with its faculty members.

The place is an absolute horror-show. The college has such a corrupt and incompetent administration that it could (in the near-future) rival that of schools like Chicago State. Not very well publicized is that most of the faculty is adjunct, meaning that instructors are overworked and underpaid and none too happy about it. This shows in the classroom. As well, the counselors are typically do-nothing doxies and office clerks are disagreeable droids.

If you're needing your financial aid disbursement refund to help you thru the semester then don't go here as they don't disburse funds until the semester is almost over. Their departments are also very relaxed. They are supposed to close at 7:00pm some days but employees leave at 4:00-4:30 leaving students wondering what to do.
The Bio class I'm taking is by far the most stressful class I've ever taken. Let me mention that I have a bachelor degree from a university. It seems the professor thinks the students are 3rd year physician residents vs. ordinary students.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary K.Oak Lawn, IL102920Jul 17, 2018
I really want to give this place 5 stars but there are a few things stopping me. Its so hard to study in the study rooms when there are people laughing and shouting obnoxiously in the room next door. The same people goofing off in these study rooms should goof off somewhere else and allow those who actually need to study to use these rooms. These rooms are a privilege and should be granted to those with a decent g.p.a Also there should be more programs in the medical field, and the people working registration need to work on their customer service skills. Other than that, the campus is beautiful.

Graduated from here many years ago and am now back to take some prerequisites. It has changed so much. The campus is beautiful, and has so very many resources. Teachers are still top notch. I wish I would have taken advantage of everything when I was first here years ago.
One of the Financial Aid Expeditor's is so very useless. She told me I did not qualify about 10 times so I didn't push it thank God I had the cash to pay for my classes. Then months later I got a check in the mail as reimbursement for my classes and a financial aid acceptance letter.
Advisors all tell you diff things its up to you to do research and figure it out. That I don't mind its much like real life.
Students are a mixed bag. You get a lot of adults (the best students :) ) then you have your typical young kids wasting their time and parents money. Its hard listening to the conversations these kids hold it sometimes makes my ears bleed with all the uselessness they speak.
All in all a great school not perfect but way better then others Ive been toHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
