This salon is the best salon I have ever gone to! They are pleasant, respectful, attentive, professional, punctual and they engage you in dialogue about the care of your hair. Oh, get this, they help each other out when they get busy and you won't notice the difference in service because guess what, they are interchangeable when it comes to customer service! I say this because MANY salons don't get this very simple concept called "customer service." Not rocket science but they have mastered the art!

Love the environment, friendliness, and ambiance of this salon. As a makeup artist, I have frequented several salons, and I must say this salon is one of my top favs.

The owner is sweet with tons of personality,  always greets clients with sincerity and professionalism, the hairstylists are awesome, and the family environment is the best! Myself and all three of my daughters thoroughly enjoy our time whenever we are here.

There is often a small cute snack area, it's always pristine, and VERY well kept (such a cute spot).

Now for my personal stylist, Aineicia. She is everything! Love her! I have been going to her for 20 years, and she is the best- hands down. My hair is healthy, thick, and always looks the bomb when I leave her chair. She specializes in healthy and natural hair; making concoctions of various oils and nutrients for the hair, as needed. My additional family stylist, who specializes in creativity, dopeness, natural hair braiding, blowouts (which are amazing!), has also been doing my hair for years. Dani is meticulous, very detail oriented, and known for her intricate hairstyling. She's the best! The intricate and flawless hairstyles she has given me and my girls over the years have been fabulous! Who can say that they have two hairstylists? Me! Art varies with each individual and to be limited to one stylist for beauty isn't for me. Love her, and you will find a jewel in her as a stylist.

Anita Chambers and Her People are a Wonder to behold. They all have been Anointed and Blessed to do hair. I Recommend them highly as a 5 is way too low. They take care to make sure you're comfortable, cared for and provide excellent service. A Blessing to all who work there. Love yu all. Ms. Mamie

My hair is fairly long and I wanted to do the "big chop" so I came to Moods. I got my hair done by Dani who really helped calm my nerves because I was super anxious about the change. She acted as if it was no  big deal and got started right away which was great because I didn't want to be talked out of it. Not only did she keep me entertained with great conversation but she was quick and did not let me sit under the dryer very long at all (I hate when I have to stay under there forever). In any case, she did an AMAZING job. I get stopped almost every other day and I'm asked "who does your hair?" I Was literally chased down from this lady across the parking lot this morning which prompted me to finally write this review lol. Usually people have regrets after they cut their hair... I have absolutely none!

These hairstylist are the best in the bay! I've gotten my hair done by 3 different stylist here, Paula (before she moved) Shay and Dani!
Shay does the best weaves! She takes her time and the foundation is great and all extensions stay in tact for months!
Dani does my hair now, as I have transitioned from extensions to wearing my natural hair. She is great! My hair doesn't have heat damage from flat ironing it and she takes really good care of my hair.
I love my moods family! Always a welcoming environment and I'm always excited to see them and hang out when Im getting my hair done

Anita is so good.  She is careful to listen and then make just the right look.  She cares about her clients, gets to know them and make them happy.  It's a cheerful shop; relaxing and full of laughter, well-run.

Stop searching for a good stylist.  No matter what type of hair you have... call and ask for Anita.  She does it right.

ETA: Anita only works Wed - Sat, so clear your calendars!

I was hoping this would be my new spot i would go too for my cornrows, since it is located 5min from my home. My current person is a 30min drive and has limited availability because she is always booked 2 weeks in advance and prices are very affordable. Well i was charged $40 for two quickly done cornrows with no added hair. It looked okay, but was not tight i have coarse hair and i even came in with blow dried hair to make it easier. I had too Bobby pin my braids to make them look tighter on the sides. The sides were not tight. I asked her to do it over and explained why. I showed her a pic and stressed how i like it to be tight and neat yet i got a 5min cornrow. She was very nice, but i will not return. My current girl charges $25 and does a very neat beautiful job. I will not come back. I was disappointed this is day 2 and here ill show u a pic.

Dear Moods & Attitudes (Jasmine),

Let me start by saying that every business starts with a rating of 5 stars and you lose stars throughout the experience of my visit. So here's how Moods and Attitude lost stars. 1) there was no one at the front desk to greet me when I first walked in. After 3 mins, I decided to walk into the work stations and let the stylist know that I have an appointment... one stylist asked me who I was meeting with, and then told me to take a seat in the waiting area... sure, no problem, I'll wait. The wait wasn't long, but here's where the point really was lost... as I was reading my book, I could feel someone staring at me. I looked up to find my stylist and the woman who was clearly in charge rolling their eyes at my hair. My hair, 4c/b mainly 4c in a ponytail puff. It was a look of "damn" I actually have to do work... 2) she washed my hair fine... no water everywhere... relaxing, took her time, but she Didn't deep condition my hair. She barely put conditioner in my hair, placed a warm towel and plastic bag over it and had me wait at the wash station... where they do that at? I clearly needed to sit under the dryer and let some conditioner penetrate. I started to say something, but I didn't want to be that person... especially since I made the appointment that morning and didn't know this stylist. I kept wanting to believe it would get better, but it didn't. 3) if she had conditioned my hair in sections, she would have made her job easier, but instead she barely conditioned, then hand dried my hair... I swear there were times when she went from root to end... where they do that at? She then sat me under the dryer without a plastic bag to dry my roots. Oh, let me add that she barely sprayed my hair with heat protectant, she was so stingy with product it was ridiculous. 4) this is the worst of all... I paid for a press and flat iron... she didn't press my hair!!! When I asked her if she was going to press it, she said yes I'm using these (showing small flat irons) ... Girl, you and I both know, my hair has to be pressed, then flat ironed. She was trying to rush. On top of this, she burnt me and my hair a few times because my hair/scalp wasn't completely dry... when I confronted her about this, she said it was dry, but later said it wasn't... so you flat ironed wet hair? Smdh! Hence why my hair smells burnt today and prompted me to do this review..5) the sheers she used to cut my hair looked like they were going to give me more split ends... she barely trimmed my hair and I had to request her to cut more... before she cut more, she said... "I only want to cut as much as it grows" huh? You don't know me, and you don't know how fast my hair grows... cut the hair! To give her credit, I was happy with the cut the second time around... but at the end of the day, my hair looked like a blow out... which is crazy because when I press my own hair it can last for 2 weeks. I paid $85 for a blow dry and trim.

Today, was an excellent day thanks to  Anita with her excellent , skilled  and professional hands servicing  my hair. I receive a touch up with a cellophane  and my hair is silky, bouncy, full, alive and beautiful. Anita, you're an amazing hair stylist and you're one on one with your clients  with a lending  ear.  This was my first time visiting Moods and Attitudes in San Leandro and you did not whack my hair off . Anita, definitely knows the definition of a trim. Anita, has grace and style and I'm happy I found someone that understands me and my hair. Also, thanks for the lunch from your Grandmother it was delicious. I see where you receive your style and grace your family has class. I felt very comfortable at your hair salon I  actually  felt at home. Thanks again Anita, I wish I could give you 100 stars! Believe me I'm  a returning customer. Please continue to keep up the excellent service. I'm a happy camper.

I was sick of wearing my extensions and wanted to go home and cut all my hair off. I called the salon right after I got off from work and was able to make an appointment the same day. Aineicia washed, conditioned and flat ironed my natural hair and the next day I went to work  without wearing my extensions. I haven't done that in years! Aineicia was pleasant and her skills are on point!!  The other stylists did a great job on other clients' hair too.

I would definitely recommend this salon!

This is where I take my daughter. Very clean on the inside. The staff welcome you with a smile. And my daughter leaves even more beautiful then before she came.

I love being a client of Anita's for the past 6 years. The atmosphere is always pleasant, relaxing and definitely professional. I would recommend this salon to anyone from any age group. Keep up the good work Moods and Attitudes.

I have never felt so disrespected in a customer service environment!!! As I walked into this hair salon with my children, one of whom would be getting her hair serviced, I felt bombarded with staff informing me that children were not allowed. I kindly informed the staff that my daughter had an appointment. I was then told I had to wait outside with my newborn and son because they were not getting serviced. I had to watch my daughter through a window. First and foremost, I was never informed of this policy beforehand and had no inclination of this absurd  policy. What person would allow a mother to stand outside (I was offered a seat after standing an hour) while her child is inside of a salon with strangers that she has never engaged with. I have never written a review, but felt it was necessary to write this one for all the mothers out there that plan to have their child serviced at this shop. Frankly don't do it!! You will be sitting on a curb, with your kids, in the cold, waiting for a mediocre hairstyle.

Jazmyn saved me! Not only did she spend hours on a serious color correction (from elsewhere) that turned out perfect, but she gave me awesome braids and went out of her way to buy the braid in extensions for me. She was attentive and accommodating throughout the whole process. Totally recommend.

*Sigh* I don't know where to start I read a couple of great reviews about Shakela and decided to give her a shot btw googling her name says she is a stylist/hairdresser.I got to the shop and told her exactly how I wanted my hair I don't believe in bashing people so all I'm gonna say is what a waste of time and money $300 bucks down the drain instead of constantly texting and talking about Real Housewives of Atlanta o yea and ass injections these ladies need to pay more attention to there clients!!! I'll never be back this shop is more for overdressed trendy HOODRICH rats!

I took my daughter in for flat ironing and wow...her hair is so silky smooth healthy and radiant. This place is where I shoulda been coming from day one. Many of my churchs members go here and they always look great. I cant speak for anything besides their cuts and flat ironing but the owner and chief stylist Anita has fabulous color on her own hair so Im sure they can do it all. Thanks Moods you got us from ratchet to fantastic with the wave of a flat iron.)

Where would I be without this place. Probabky wondering the streets looking wrecked. I love this place, they do everything. If you have a vision for your style, theyll make it happen. Every stylist is top notch, but I have my favorite. Extremely flexible, and they always get me in when its convienent.

Nice group of ladies, great location and prices!
