Montford Billiards

On a Thursday night played pool and darts for free. Good crowd and drink prices. Next time I am in NC, I would definitely come back!

Cheap liks and even cheaper pool. I think they have 8 foot tables but I'm not 100%. I do know that it's $6/hr for a table and booze is dummy cheap. 3 rounds of drinks and 2 hours of pool always runs me around $60.

Pool tables were fine, bartender, tall skinny guy was a prick. Owner, Mike, should consider very carefully who he puts behind the bar.

I love that this has a dive bar feel. There are maybe five billiards tables so most of the time there isn't much of a wait. Great prices on drinks and they even have a vending machine with cigarettes and snacks in it which I thought was a fun addition. Great crowd overall and bartender service is excellent

I've been coming to this bar for 2 years now and never had an issue, until last night. They guy bartending was rude, irrational, and confrontational. We were there for about 2 hours at the corner pool table. My dad took a phone call at the corner of the bar. Bartender didn't like that so rudely and loudly told my dad "you can't just go anywhere you want in here". Confused, my dad calmly said "I'm on a call with my grandmother and I'm not crossing any lines by standing here, what's the problem?" He did not like this and got confrontational and I stepped in and told him to calm down. He then aggressively approached me and got in my face. Then threatened to close our tabs and kick us out. He continued to mumble things and add to the situation. which someone in a "management" role should never instigate a customer conflict. Nonetheless, as we were leaving multiple bystanders mentioned how this guy is a complete asshole and is new. I will not be going back to this bar until that guy is fired. I love this bar and hope this gets through to the owner(s). I met Tom on a casino boat in Myrtle beach, great guy.

Out with my wonderful husband and stopped by Montford Ballard's for a few cocktails and quick game of pool. We haven't played in several years. Nice spot good music and reasonable prices. We will be back... if you like to play pool perfect spot. I would love to give them a five but they don't serve any type of food... not even nachos.

Totally thought I had written a review about this place!!! Hubs LOVES to play pool and I totally love that he loves beating me at it. Lol

We heard about this place and finally had a chance to check it out. We LOVED it. It's the perfect place to go out on a causal "I don't want to put on heels" date night and the perfect place for guys to really relax and just play pool! It's clean, not loud and Smokey and people respect the whole "I got next" table rule!! (I sound cool but hubs had to tell me what was happening as I didn't know why some rando guy put down four quarters on our table...lolol! I'm so dumb)

Tucked behind Jeff's bucket shop. Such a cool kids place to go! Or nerdy ...whatever...I liked it and I'm a mix of both!

Pretty cool spot. It was pretty empty when we went in friday night, but that's cool we got to play pool. Very laid back atmosphere and drinks were relatively cheap. Tables were ok we're not pros so don't matter much. Beers were wicked cold, as cold as a witch's glass cutters.

This little spot was a hole in the wall but oh so much fun. I came here with a few friends we played a couple games and I had a couple shots that were on special. We were attended to as soon as we sat at the bar and my friends and I didn't have to wait long for a pool table. The shots were made well and delicious. The best part is the juke box that has a vast array of music. That really made the atmosphere when everyone around was dancing and having a good time to the jams that were playing. I'll be back for sure.

First time hanging out here! In comparison to other pool halls, it's decent. Coin tables and hourly tables available ($8/hr). While it pales in comparison to my preferred location, Elizabeth Billiards (aka EBs), it will suffice if you are looking for a low key hang out.

The drinks were also...well, just decent. They offered a creative green tea shot which was...meh. The Moscow mule that followed was a bit better.

Three stars hard-earned.

Cool new spot for the Montford area. Kind of hidden, but I honestly prefer it that way.

Good beer selection, 4 or 5 pool tables, and a friendly staff. I don't know that there is much else to expand on here. I'll try this place out again when I'm a little more sober and give a more detailed review, lol.
