Monterey Bay Taekwando

My 6 year old just completed the week long summer camp and I will say that I am extremely satisfied with it. My son was very reluctant to attend the first day but today (the last day) he said that he wished he could go every day. I told him, if only I could afford to send him to the 2nd camp, I totally would! Master Lee is really great with kids of all ages! Five hours a day was a decent time for a camp and the price was very reasonable, too. It was also a plus that no taekwondo background was necessary for this camp. If anything, it encourages one to learn.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this academy. My son has been training here for almost 2yrs now and loves it and as a mom I love how he has grown from the training into a more confident and driven young man. So when he asked me if I would train with him I said "Of course". Now as a 34yr old however, training is not the same as when your 6 like my son, which is why I am so grateful for all the amazing instructors who work here. They are so patient, motivating and fun to train under and I can honestly say I have accomplished more physically in the two months I have been training here with my son then anywhere else. So if you are looking for a great place to train in taekwondo whether it be for your kids, yourself or both, Monterey Bay Taekwondo academy is the only place to go.

Great high energy instruction. My daughter has been attending classes here since 2019 and has been able to focus and develop confidence. Master Lee and his instructors are very patient and keep the teachings fresh. From time to time they will invite Masters from different parts of the world to bring their experience and expertise to help fine tune the students skills. I've noticed a huge change in my daughter as she's progressed over time. A great family environment. Great communication skills and very kind staff. Highly recommended!

My Son has been a part of MTA for nine years since the age of 8 yo. Grand Master Lee and his team are Amazing!! His consistency and attention to detail to every single kid that comes in to the studio can only graded as A+++. Thank you for what you do and you are truly changing the lives of the next generation!

Master Lee and all the instructors & staff are really good with the kids. I love that classes are still offered outdoors with health precautions in place. My daughter loves going to MTA definitely worth it. A great extracurricular activity especially during these times

This is the best Taekwondo studio in Monterey County. Master Lee & Mrs. Lee are great and really care about the students! They have great instructors and are very patient with kids of all ages. They have a variety of ways to instruct and keep the little ones engaged. I've seen so much growth with all my children(we have 5 enrolled!) We joined about 3 1/2 years ago & have ZERO complaints!

We love Monterey Bay Taekwondo Academy! Master Lee, Mrs. Lee, and all the instructors have been wonderful. We drive 30 minutes for each class and have since 2015 -- worth every extra minute! My son feels included, appreciated, and confident in his ability to learn because of the positive atmosphere Master Lee provides. He's grown tremendously because of the opportunities he's had and progressed to a second degree black belt. The price is reasonable, and MTA has stayed open throughout the pandemic with Zoom and outdoor sessions (when allowed), and it's been a wonderful outlet. Their communication is also excellent, and parents, guardians, and friends are always treated well and with respect. The Lees are kind, organized, family-friendly, and just solid people. Give it a try -- you won't regret it!

MTA has been such a wonderful experience for our family. I have seen my children grow and prosper physically, mentally, and emotionally through practicing taekwondo under the instruction of Master Lee. Master Lee teaches respect, kindness, strength, and many other very important attributes to his students with a patient and effective approach. We have been attending his classes for 2 years and we are most grateful to him and his staff. We hope to have the opportunity to continue on with Master Lee and the MTA family for many more years. After we moved to the area on military orders, I started looking for a martial arts studio for my daughter. Honestly, at first I chose this studio because it is conveniently located for us and because the price is fair. They do not force you to sign a year-long contract and I liked that too. Since I do not know anything about taekwondo, my hopes were not too high. Months later I am very pleased with this tae kwon do studio.

My daughter definitely loves Master Lee and and everybody else at the academy. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have their children involved in a sport that also fosters respect.
