I'm sadden to hear of another local restaurant that's closing its doors.
It's heartbreaking to think and wonder will these once upon time businesses ever recover.

It's the holiday season... A time of joy, a time to pause and remind ourselves to be greatful for what we do have in life especially maybe this yr.

It had been decided Thursday at work that lunch on Friday had to be Mom's Place. Breakfast for lunch!!! The perfect meal!! All departments scurried to get their orders in... I ordered a Swiss cheese, broccoli, and mushroom omelet.

When my phone rang at my desk that the food had arrived I knew the rest of the day would be smooth sailing.

My omelet arrived hot, fluffy and freshest of fresh ingredients as always.

Mom's place is to be closing its doors permanently on Dec 19th. If you get a chance stop by and order breakfast/lunch to go from them. Please do!

Community is about doing something together that makes belonging matter.

      - Happy Holidays and be well Yelpers

Small place set back off the street on Harlem just south of the Eisenhower. If you blink, you'll miss it. Heard the place had good food - possibly Chicken Fried Steak, so I went in to give it a try.

Well, no CFS, but they did have a decent breakfast menu, so I decided to order one of my "usuals" - a Denver Omelette. A nice surprise was that oatmeal or grits are included with the order, so I went with oatmeal and it was served ahead of my order - almost like an appetizer. Omelette, hash browns and the English Muffin I ordered all followed right after - a good amount of food, though the omelette was cooked a tad too long for my taste.

Service was prompt efficient and with a smile - that was hard to beat. At $12.75 for the whole order - including a really large orange juice - the value was outstanding. I'll be happy to go back again when in the area.

Love this place. Food is good. Fresh and exactly what you ordered. We're not fancy. We don't ask for too much. We asked for ketchup and got a bottle. We asked for over medium eggs and got perfect eggs.

I ordered tortilla soup with my breakfast. Yeah, don't judge. But I probably won't be ordering tortilla soup again cause I didn't care for the large tortilla chips, but the taste was just fine.

I like breakfast. That's why we come here. We'll eventually try lunch one day but for breakfast, they're a-okay!

First time coming here. Came here on a lunch break just now. Definitely a great place to check out. This place is usually packed during morning/lunch hours. Parking is also a bit rough too. If you live in the area area, this place is easy to get too by train / bus.

The waitress was very nice and is also bilingual too. Breakfast was phenomenal, it did take longer than what I was expecting to prepare the food but all in all wasn't dissapointed. Breakfast is definitely affordable. I'd like to come back here when I could.

This place is a tipical family breakfast restaurant. The staff is very nice a friendly. They are very prompt with the ordering and bringing the food. They have a large menu with a lot of options.
The food tastes alright. Nothing really that special about the cuality or taste. I order crapes. The crapes where just alright. We also had a Mikey mouse chocolate chip pancakes with sausage. Surprisingly the sausage was of good flavor.
The coffee is a big for me because I love coffee. The coffee was very weak just like a tipical regular breakfast place.

We had an appointment around the corner and were starving when we left. Handy Google led us here. Doesn't look like much when you pull in, but well worth the stop!

I had the Mama's Burger and it was PERFECT! Fries were perfect. Service was perfect.

We will be back. There is so much I want to try on the menu.

We came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was pretty quiet - two other tables were eating. The lady was nice and served us our food. This is an average diner. Food was okay, nothing stands out. It seems to be family owned and glad to see they are still around.

Friendly staff, quick delivery of food and it was reasonably priced, simple & as ordered. Pretty straight forward breakfast meals of eggs, potatoes, toast, omelette, coffee and Diet Coke. It's not fancy but the place is clean and the food was plentiful and good. 60-70's music playing but thankfully not too loud as I don't care for that music. Cash only so come prepared for that. Breakfast for two was $21 plus tip so a pretty good value.

      Restaurant review
I really wanted to like this restaurant so much, but it fell far off the deep end. I have a knack for liking diners especially family own ones. This place fits the mold perfectly, but I must have ordered the wrong food. I had the chicken Parmesan and after ordering I could hear the cook microwaving my entire meal. First the chicken then the pasta with the chicken and cheese. They forgot to bring out my soup beforehand and my waitress went back in and I heard the microwave zapping my food again. The chicken noodle soup looks exactly like the campbell chicken noodle. The menu promised fresh home made bread but that was not to be seen at all except for garlic bread triangles. There use to be a lot more steak items for dinner based on the menu outside, but I did not really see any on the menu. Oh well, worth the experience I guess but I will not be back

      Pro: cheap price

      Cons: microwaved food.... sigh
