Inspired by our love for the diverse and creative beers from all across California, Mohawk Bend has since 2011 brought fresh, locally-sourced fare and drink to Echo Park. Located in a painstakingly retrofitted 100-year-old silent movie theater, we use California ingredients to craft pizzas, seasonal salads, elevated pub food, and delicious desserts for vegans, vegetarians, and meat-lovers alike. Our bar program--featuring 76 taps of California craft beer, wine, and artisanal spirits--is a tribute to local small-scale breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Whatever's on your plate or in your glass didn't travel far to get here. Through our philanthropic efforts over the past nine years, we've helped to plant over 20,000 trees through our collaborations with Greenbar Distillery and donated over $65,000 to local non-profits through our Piece of the Pie program. We're here to make your day taste better. We hope you'll join us.…

8/26/2021If you have a mixed crowed of vegan / non vegan people with an appetite look no more!! FLAVOR Gods to the rescue!! Flavor , Ambiance , Drinks
I'd likely give Mohawk bend 3.5 stars but the service and quality drinks made it a 4 star and not a 3.

Teriyaki Burger - So perfectly moist cooked at a medium well that the tiny plate had a puddle on it not allowing me to put the burger down. What a problem to have . Well seasoned with a fresh and well proportioned pineapple slice the jalapeños and pico were a great touch of freshness to this burger.
Sweet potato fries - some of the best I've had. Well seasoned , fresh oil so they were not soaking in oil or burnt to a crisp. Something simple done well
Buffalo Ranch Fries - IDK what to say here. Fries tasted like kinda basic out of the bag with a drizzle of sauce. No complaints
Chicken Sandwich w/ a touch of heat. The first one came out looking like "what the cluck" on a bun. But after a fresh one was prepared, golden brown, well flavored served with a trio of hot sauce we were all smiles.
Vegan Chicken Sandwich - golden browned with a nice flakey crust. No complaints here. - 55471180
8/21/20211 check-inThe venue and restaurant space is amazing! I also love that they can make everything with meat or vegan.
Food: I ordered the vegan pepperoni pizza and the Buffalo cauliflower. The Buffalo cauliflower was not cooked long enough and was sent back. The vegan pepperoni pizza didn't taste good either.
My guess is that I came on a off night. I do want to come back and try a few options that are not vegan.
Parking: Street parking is the only option. - D.J. B.Los Angeles, CA293613
8/19/2021I've been meaning to get to Mohawk Bend for years and I can't believe I waited this long.
The whole staff, from host to servers was amazing. I love that they explicitly and clearly explained their COVID-19 mask policy right up front. It helped us relax.
My wife and I sat on the patio outside (I'm not sure if there was indoor seating as of 8/15/2021 when we ate there). It was super clean and everything looks like it's taken care of.
Our server was quick to get to us and our food and drinks got to us pretty quickly, too. I never felt like we were waiting too long or looking around for someone. It's a very friendly and chill vibe.
Our server nudged us into the buffalo cauliflower to start, which was super spicy and really tasty. Some places overcook cauliflower, but this was easy to eat yet still freshly crisp. It was plenty big enough for two.
There was a great selection of beers on the menu. It would be nice to have a short description of each beer to make it easier to choose, but it's a little thing. Maybe a separate beer menu?
I got the Big Mohawk and my wife got the Fried Chicken Sandwich (both vegan). The burger was amazing. Huge, tasty, lots of cheese and the bun was perfectly done. The chicken sandwich was okay, but the cutlet was a little bland. We were hoping for a bigger crispy-crunchy coating, but it was sort of flat. The garlic aioli and slaw were really good on it, though.
After the buffalo cauliflower and huge sandwiches, we didn't have any room for dessert - although I had a second beer. Next time we might share a sandwich and try dessert.
The bathroom was clean and big. Parking is on the street. It's Sunset, so I mean, good luck, but we found free neighborhood parking around the corner a couple blocks away. We took a walk afterwards (because sandwiches and beer). There are some great shops not far away.
Next time I hope we can sit inside, because it looked really cool.
We will definitely be back. - 85612640
8/5/20211 check-inThis restaurant is so spacious and has such a nice vibe. They have a good selection of traditional and unique dishes. Their pizza is honestly to die for. Their beer selection is amazing as well. The waiters are friendly and the food is delicious. We ordered two pizzas and an appetizer to share for four people and it was slightly too much- so you know the portions are huge. Love how they have interesting twists and flavors to traditional dishes. Would definitely come back and definitely recommend for those who are venturing into this area of LA. They have great vegetarian options too, which I really appreciate. A lot of their dishes can be altered to fit dietary needs and preferences.
Parking. Street parking may be a little hard to find but never have we not been able to find parking (orrrrr worst case scenario park in the chipotle plaza across...)
After dinner, there are plenty of good bars for cocktails around the corner too.Business owner information

8/21/2021I don't know how this place as four stars on yelp.
The food is so unbelievably mediocre minus the fries. Service however was spectacular and I truly hope that server gets another job where they can really use their talents to sell good food. - Darcie C.Los Angeles, CA41321
8/15/2021We've been coming to Mohawk Bend for years, but last night was our first visit since pre-pandemic. We loved the menu updates, and both their service and food seemed better than ever! Every staff member was a delight to interact with; from our server to the bartender to the busser, the host who sat us and the manager!
We were truly heartbroken when they changed the recipe for their baked potato pizza back in 2019 (it was truly a staple every single time we visited). Well, we were THRILLED to hear that they recently put the OG recipe back on the menu. It made our day! Also, the Banh Mi pizza is absolutely delicious as well. I highly recommend both! Best vegan pizza in LA! Thanks, Mohawk Bend!Business owner information

8/8/2021I visited Mohawk on 8/6 and was keenly disappointed with two of the newer menu items. I ordered the Big Mohawk, the Fennel Attraction salad, and the beet hummus. The beet hummus was very good, no complaints and would order again. However, the Big Mohawk was a Big Disappointment. It is seemingly modeled as an "elevated" Big Mac, complete with diced onions, pickles, and two patties on three buns. It tasted like a Big Mac. So much so that we wondered if Mohawk had actually ordered a Big Mac through Uber eats and passed the $15 cost onto us. The patties were thin, the pickles tasted like they were from a jar of Vlassic, and the sauce tasted like McDonald's special sauce. The same experience can be purchased for half the price two blocks away McDonalds. It was unsatisfying, yet edible.
In the other hand, I can say without hyperbole that the Fennel Attraction was revolting. There were perhaps three tiny pieces of fennel in the salad, the bulk of it was arugula soaked in oil. The menu described the dressing as "herb oil." The flavor and texture was that of canola oil. I actually wonder if the kitchen accidentally dumped a bottle of canola oil onto the salad rather than olive oil. The oil was flavorless, watery, and abundant. It rendered the dish almost inedible. Not even the pickled onions could add enough flavor to salvage the textural nightmare that was served before me. As noted above, the fennel was largely absent.
The server was lovely and comped the salad and my wine. However, the food was so disappointing I did not even want to try a desert dish because I did not want to set myself up for a third disappointment. I've always enjoyed Mohawk Bend's food and the night I went I was actually looking forward to a Mohawk Burger, which is no longer on the menu. However, I don't think I will be returning and recommend that other diners proceed with caution.Business owner information

Hi Liz,
Thanks for such a detailed review. I’ll be sharing all of this feedback with our culinary team. I’m sorry you were disappointed with your experience. The Big Mohawk has been a guest favorite for years so I was particularly surprised to read this review. When we put it on the menu originally the goal was to provide the vegan community with the nostalgia of a Big Mac but a version they could enjoy. For our non-vegan version we use 100% grass fed beef and source all of our ingredients locally and organically whenever possible. We’ve already spoken with the team to make sure they avoid overdressing the salads and so your review has already been helpful to us. I hope you’ll give us another shot in the future. Thank you again for providing us with such detailed feedback. - Genna Y.Los Angeles, CA36689144
7/17/2021I have mixed feelings about Mohawk Bend. It's centrally located on Sunset Blvd in Silverlake with easy parking - metered or free on the street nearby. It's a very cute place!
I ordered the Paloma and it was so so tiny for the price and had minimal alcohol. Then we ordered cheese pizza (NV), garlic fries, and the chicken sandwich with Nashville hot on the side. When the food came I received normal fries and no Nashville hot sauce and I was told that it's a rub so there was no way to order it on the side. I just found it strange because I did order it and nothing was said at the time.
Pizza was good. Chicken sandwich was okay... kind of weird. It's a tofu patty which I didn't really like, but the flavors were okay. Fries were just basic fries. Overall, the service was really bad and I was pretty sick post meal (food poisoning?). I would pass on the chicken sandwich and the cocktails. Everything is overpriced.Business owner information

Hi Genna,
Sorry to hear that your experience was less than stellar and that we weren’t able to explain to you how our “angry” versus regular sandwiches work in better detail. I’ll make sure to speak with our team about explaining that better in the future. Our cocktails are draft cocktails and we did this specifically to ensure that they are made the same every time to provide consistency for our guests. I promise they all contain the amount of alcohol standard for the industry. I’m sorry you weren’t satisfied but I do hope you’ll join us again in the future. - E C.West Covina, CA67015
8/8/2021Non-digital Photobooth.
Stopping by here just for the Photo booth has become a tradition! One of the few working old style non-digital photo-booths. Everything else locally has been converted to digital.Business owner information
