Such a great place to pamper yourself and relax. Everyone was very sweet! When I entered, I was offered tea or coffee while I waited in the comfiest chair ever. The atmosphere was calming and welcoming. As my stylist greeted me, she noticed I was wearing a mask and offered to wear one, which was extremely courteous and much appreciated. I'm sad that I'm moving away and won't be able to come again! Bottom line: excellent establishment. Cut and style cost me ~$40 including tip!

Apr 2, 2022Previous reviewI took my son to get his haircut by Audrey, and she really did a terrible job. I asked her to keep a little length on the top because I liked how his cowlick looked with his bangs. Instead, she gave him a bowl cut, so I asked her to make it more even and more natural, and she just made it even shorter and worse. I would NOT recommend her for boys' haircuts. I've attached photos from right after he got his haircut for you to see. I could have done a better job at home with my clippers, because at least then it would be even. She didn't even cut his hair on the crown of his head at all, as you can see. And this haircut took 45 minutes to do.
I took him to Jude's Barbershop on Center the next day, and Alyssa fixed his hair and made it look amazing. If you've got a little boy, save yourself the heartache and take him there instead. - Sara M.Sterling Heights, MI21434Aug 11, 2022
I came here really excited for a haircut. I wanted a face frame and layers. I saw Audrey. She trimmed my hair ever so slightly, after saying she needs to cut at least an inch off. She didn't do any face framing, more like a trim... I then asked for a blow dry, and instead got a straitening. I'm not happy with the results, my hair is the same length as it was and without any face framing. Plus, they charge a "non-cash" fee. I was also told that I would get a hair consultation as a new client, but I didn't. I made an appointment for a color with her, though I'm reconsidering. I really am disappointed with the results. It feels like I wasted time and money for nothing.

Was looking for a new salon and stylist so thought I'd try Milan on the downtown mall. They promise to pamper you and care for you which sounded kinda nice. But when I arrived I realized they must think offering you a bottle of water is "pampering". No worries...I don't require pampering. But don't introduce new customers with false promises.
I had a very nice stylist. She was kind and sweet. My cut was okay but the color was poorly done. I had chunks of highlights instead of strands.
The MOST irritating thing about my experience was when I went to pay, I was slightly surprised by the $150 fee but then when I paid with my Debit card, she ran it and gave me the receipt to sign. My total was now $165 without tip. When I asked about this extra $15.00 she informed me they charge 10% when paying with a Debit or credit card. Shouldn't they mention this when you make an appointment? Most people pay with card now. Who carries a checkbook? Cash? What's that? What a crock! So my $150 service (not worth it) ended up being $180 including a 10% tip. I couldn't afford a bigger tip after being taken to the cleaners. Very disappointed with my experience. What I thought was going to be a splurge ended up being service no better than the salons I've been to and overinflated fees.

We are sorry we didn’t measure up to your standards back in May Karen, I would like to clear a few things up however. Your charge was 145 and you tipped 10 dollars - and yes you’re card was charged a processing fee which in this current economy is pretty standard business practice. The fee is 3.5 percent and not the 10 percent that you Misrepresented in your review - your fee was 5 dollars (145x.035). So instead of the 180.00 you claimed, the actual, truthful amount you paid was 160.00
In the future please let the business know of any concerns with your service and give them the opportunity to remedy it for you. This helps us grow as stylists and businesses as a whole.

I have been going to Milan since they opened. Shannon was my stylist initially at Andrew Beth, now Jen has been cutting and coloring my hair since 2004. I have had many different hair styles and colors over the years, and am always happy with how I look. You get what you pay for, and this salon and the stylists are worth every penny.

Audrey and Jason are friendly. Audrey is a good hairstylist and I trust her. Jason is the scheduler and is very accommodating and professional.

I walked in with a grown out unfortunate haircut. I walked out with a wonderful color/style. You won't be disappointed if you come here. They are also an Aveda salon, which are really top notch products. I made my next appointment same day. I've finally found a new salon a year after moving here.

Great haircut by Kate. She listened to all the concerns about my hair and what I wanted changed, and then she made it all happen. She is a lovely person, kind and professional, highly skilled, and she gave me a lovely haircut. Somehow she took all my comments and gave me exactly what I wanted!

Got my haircut here a day before my wedding. The staff was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating to my already hectic schedule. Received a great haircut and enjoyed the overall experience that Milan provided! Would definitely go again!
