Michael's

Been coming here for many years now, since I was young and the food has definitely fell off. I've had many good experiences here, as well as bad but I always tend to go back due to the food being relatively cheap, the restaurant being open 24 hours and the overall nostalgia. Their breakfast food is definitely some of the better options, some of my personal favorites are there pancakes, cream chipped beef and chicken noodle soup, but be aware sometimes the eggs seem to be a little uncooked, and the alfredo is awful. Overall I believe the food is decent, all depending on what you get though, but it is cheap and you can get it at any hour of the night, and the service is normally good, but keep in mind some servers are much more friendly then others.

Stopped here because my husband was craving "diner" food. It was a great idea. First, everyone who greeted us was so nice. Second, the food was amazing. Third, there were 6 of us and we ate for $80. I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure that everyone that works there is family. We even had people who weren't working come speak to us. As far as the food goes, it was delicious And fast. Between us, we had chicken parmigiana, Mac and cheese, French fries, stuffed grape leaves, liverwurst sandwich, grilled cheese, salad bar, gyro, and Philly cheesesteak. There wasn't even anything left for a to go box. And that wasn't Because there wasn't a lot of food. It was just so good we couldn't stop eating. The diner is very casual with an amazing "if you're here, you're family" feel. Would drive out of my way to eat here again.

This place used to be right down the street from where I worked. I always loved it. Food is always good and the staff is always friendly

The waitress had a nerve to ask us to pay before we got our food. We refused and left in fear she would do something to our food. Ridiculous!

I hate to say it, but Michaels has gone downhill over the years. The food is mediocre at best. I can't remember having a decent meal in the past six or seven times I've been there. Stoped by today just to have salad bar because how could you mess that up? Tuna salad had hardly any tuna in it and had no flavor. Pasta salad tasted like wet noodles no flavor. Spinach was wet and smooshed. Coleslaw was Meh. It could be so much better.

My parents love this place. We meet for brunch once a month. Food is always good. Breakfast is the best but this time I got a Greek salad and French onion soup. The salad was ok, fresh but could have used some croutons! We like the corner both, lots of room.

Probably the best diner in the area....nice selections, quick service friendly. 24/7 makes it even better....love their breakfasts.

First time here on a Wednesday night around 9 pm.

I had a cheese omelette with hash browns and rye toast.

My daughter had a waffle.

Everything was prepared perfectly.

Service was fine.

I'd go back.

Super excellent food sometimes huge portion sizes but nevertheless fantastic food a little bit of history built in 1962 Michael's restaurant was home for multiple patrons including soon to be present John F Kennedy this restaurant located in Berks County PA absolutely hits the spot for any tourist visitor or any sports fan especially on the way to a Reading Fighting Phil's minor league baseball game or a Reading Royals hockey game

On Saturday night November 20th 2021 I was on the way to the Reading Royals game and because of the constant frustration with arby's in previous occasions I stopped here and ordered my craving greek gyro and I was absolutely satisfied with my food and it was awesome I also love this restaurant in Berks County PA if you are starving and you are on the way to work or a sporting event you must and I absolutely say must stop by and have yourself a fresh cup of coffee or drink of your choice hungry craving for something I absolutely recommend the greek gyro and salads they absolutely fill you up Reading is awesome and don't forget to stop by and get awesome food at very reasonable prices

I just had French toast and bacon with scrapple + coffee. Wonderful breakfast and excellent service , server very friendly and easy going. I will be back
