Great selection of men's clothes and accessories. I recently purchased a vest and am very happy with it. The shop has great sports coats, shirts, and everything.

A wonderful, proper men's clothing and accessories store that residents of Portland and surrounding communities are very, very fortunate to have. There is no one in this city that comes close to this level of quality and unique men's clothing as they do. If you want non-stuffy, personalized service, this is the place to come. Kudos to Jake who was exceptionally knowledgeable and helped us pick out sport coats today. We will return regularly for sure!

This is a first class men's clothier with excellent products and service. I dropped in recently and purchased a new pair of slacks, shirt and sweater. Alterations were perfect. I really feel positive whenever I wear any one of these three pieces. I highly recommend Michael Allen's.

I have been coming here for years and the quality and service are second to none.

I have had two custom suits made and the fit is perfect. The tailoring on other items like pants comes back like a custom item. When I need tailoring this is where I go.

If your really nice they may offer you a drink while you shop.

Came in looking for a suit for an interview that I had coming in 3 days. I know pretty lady minute on my part. I had seen this shop during the time I was in college, so after trying my luck at a couple other shops I swung into Micheal Allen's. The door was propped open and once inside I was impressed on how big the store is. For everything men related it was nice seeing all the different types of outfits available but that was a quick scan. I was promptly greeted and I informed them of what I needed. I believe the initial associate who spoke to me was training because I ended up having Mike himself assisting me. He found a great suit that ended up fitting me perfectly and we accessorized by adding some ties, cuff links and a sweet pair of tan leather bottomed shoes. Of course I picked up a shirt to go with everything. This place has very soft, high end and luxurious offerings. Just know that you will have a fun personalized experience and really take your time. You will enjoy it.

I love shopping at this store. Michael has extremely good taste on everything he designs. There is an amazing selection of sports coats, shirts and pants. My hubby and I appreciate their help every time we go. They go above and beyond when it comes to hemming anything. They are kind to bring your items to your car if you need help. My favorite item is this red sport coat that comes with a white ceramic pin. He gets compliments every time he wears it! We will continue being customers for many years to come. I love supporting small businesses that give great service!

I stopped in here with my wife on a whim as we were leaving Nordstrom, and I am glad we did. I was taken aback at first because everything was so nice and we had been slogging around Portland in casual gear all day, but their staff made us feel at home. As we sipped a wonderful glass of wine and went over all the beautiful clothing they had I was hooked. This is a store that cares about its customers in a way I have not experienced outside of London. Their associate gave me some tips that I would have never thought of and I came out of here feeling like I had just shopped on Savile Row. I love the new clothes I got from here and they have won a lifelong customer. Now to save some pennies for a Bespoke order!

I try not not leave lukewarm reviews for independent retailers, and some other shoppers seem to have had a civil experience here particularly with their custom services, but I've visited this store several times and left empty handed with negative vibes, to the point where I've been compelled to leave a review.

Their collection is interesting...some pieces are outlandish, others are contemporary and quite appealing. In other words, they curate a very decent selection, yet a "sale" sign has perpetually been almost permanently plastered over the store windows over past few months.

For much of their ready to wear goods, there is no MSRP or 'regular' price listed on the labels. When my hubby and I have been here, we've only had the opportunity to interact with the female sales associate regarding prices, and she has listed prices that seem very high for the brands, even when they are on the sale rack. The last time we went, I came across a nice Oliver Spencer button down that I'd purchased at a Bloomingdales a few months ago. I decided to ask what the price was to do a comparison, and she said it was $320, which was the sale price. When I inquired about the original retail price, she said something to the effect of it being 70% off, and that I could do the math to calculate the original. Well, I purchased the exact same shirt for $90 at Bloomingdales, and the original MSRP was $200 on the tag that I still had at home.

In addition to the price inflation, the salesperson we've had the pleasure of speaking with is not particularly welcoming. We've wanted to like Michael Allen's since it's so close to where we live, but with so many other men's stores and boutiques in the area with good service and less price gouging, we won't be back anymore.

Went here for the first time this past weekend. One of my groomsmen wanted to treat me to an outfit for our rehearsal dinner coming up in August.

Both John (Wickham) and Joanna (Henrick) helped us pick out some options to try on, with John doing the bulk of the heavy lifting (so to speak).

I tried on a number of different pants/slacks, shirts and shoes. They have a great selection of really well chosen designer clothing. And these are most likely names you haven't heard of, but put out a great product.

After looking at some less formal options, we decided on some beautiful light wool black pants and a stunning striped button up shirt. They should match very nicely with Ms. K.'s ensemble for the rehearsal dinner, so she's stoked about that. I think they go really well together, and really appreciate John's expert help and input. Even more importantly, I appreciate my friend's incredible generosity, inasmuch as the prices here are enough to take your breath away. Not for the penny-pincher or price-conscious shopper, this place has really cool stuff, and the prices definitely reflect that.

They offered Ms. K. some wine while we were trying stuff on and my groomsman and I had some scotch--always helpful for me to get through a clothes-shopping expedition. In addition, there are two store dogs there! Max and Charlie help supervise everything that is going on here.

Friendly, professional, incredibly knowledgeable staff along with some amazing clothing makes this a great place if you're looking for an outfit for that special occasion.

Michael Allen's gets men's fashion with elegance and panache and i shop here for my husband and Michael always delivers. The made to measure clothing is well styled and classic with just the right touch of today's style.

If you are traveling to warmer climates during the winter the resort options are the best in the city. If you wear cuffed dress shirts their cuff-link selection is the best in Portland and the "go to" gift item and their tie collection wakes the perfect addition to any suit.

Looking polished and well styled is their art form.
