At Mi Casa, we aim to share an upscale experience where the Mexican border intersects with the passion, cooking and flavors of TexMex and the American Southwest. The menu looks primarily to TexMex with inspiration from California and New Mexico. Our culinary team brings a fresh perspective to border cuisine as it evolved in the USA through the creative energy of the immigrants who imported these vibrant food cultures.

Q:
What is the parking situation (valet, a lot/garage nearby, street only, etc.)?
A:
Parking is a little rough but street parking is available. I don't remember seeing a parking garage near by but I'm sure if you use google maps you may be able to find one.

Cute aesthetic place with nice ambiance but the food was mediocre. My burrito was ok, I'd honestly prefer Chipotle

The empanadas and the supreme crunch tacos were the table favorites. Those two dishes alone were worth coming back for. Also, for the amount food we got, including the pitcher of alcohol, the bill was surprisingly low. I love being able to try different food from a restaurant that I never been to before, and not break the bank.
I wish I could give you more of a feel for the place, but I was seated with my back to everything and the restaurant was kind of segmented. But I was able to walk in and get seated on a Friday night, without a reservation.
Mi Casa, is a part of Knead Hospitality group, and one thing their restaurants have in common, is consistency. You're always going to get good consistent food, with perks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 9, 2024
I actually really enjoyed my dining experience at Mi Casa! We had reservations at 6pm, but I called to say I was going to be late. I got there around 6:15 and they were accommodating. The waitress was super nice and checked on our table multiple times, never felt forgotten!
Here's my review of the food:
- Queso Dip: Skip... not good no flavor
- Spicy Salsa and Chips: Worth the $5.95 lol It was actually really good salsa
- Baja Fish Tacos: Yummy!! The rice and beans flavorful. The fish was crispy.
- Chicken Fajitas: Lots of chicken and vegetables. There were a lot of sides-sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese. You know in other places they be trying skimp out. I didn't feel like that was the case.
- Drink: I can't remember it was the mix of piña colada and frozen - kind of expensive but what to expect right by DuPont Circle. It was good though. I would have ordered a second round.
Sorry for the half eaten food! The camera did not eat first this timeHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 28, 2024
The proprietor, Roberto, is a cool dude from Brownsville, Texas, so this place wins on authenticity. Of course, as I jokingly discussed with Roberto, the pastor tacos are NOT authentic tacos al pastas - they're more like DC pastor. Still, they were excellent pork tacos, and I'd recommend them anyway; just know what you're getting into -- if you're someone like me whose eaten a lot of tacos al pastor from all across Texas, be forewarned. :) seriously, though, they're great pork tacos.
No complaints here. The service was great. The bartender was excellent. The tequila selection was perfect. The proprietor is a good conversationalist. The ambiance is nice.
I'll be back every time my job lands me in the nearby hotel so I can have a little taste of Tex-Mex home while I'm in DC.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 26, 2023

Overall: We really enjoyed ourselves at Mi Casa! It's an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. I'm a ambience snob and I enjoy it. Perfect for happy hour or date night. Our server was Shawn and he was a vibe! The food was good but I would have liked it to be hotter (not sure if I was running my mouth too long before eating but it was cold ). The bathroom was clean (non-gender specific). We did separate checks, which was cool. I didn't really like the automatic 20% gratuity on all checks. A lot of restaurants are holding onto that post Pandemic
Overall I enjoyed @micasamexico Will definitely be back!

I've had this place on my list to try and finally got around to it. I didn't have the best experience here, but the African American Manager was very apologetic to the point I would give it another try in the far future!
I ordered three of their deviled eggs but was only brought out one. They did eventually bring out the other two. It took a while for me to get my drink, while the table next to me was served their drinks right away after being seated ten minutes after my party. I would add that those deviled eggs were really good as well as my drink.
For my entree, I ordered a burger. The cooks left the paper from the cheese on my burger (yes, I know). I don't believe in sending food back, so I pointed this out to my server and the manager and told them I wanted to bring it to their attention, but I'm aware mistakes happen, but to inform their cooks to be more careful and vigilant.
My niece and son enjoyed their appetizer and entrees without any issues.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Food was delicious though it's definitely not authentic Mexican. I'm from Texas so I'm extremely picky about my Mexican so authenticity aside, everything was crisp, fresh, hot, and as we ordered!
Service was decent and the waiter even bantered with us. Can't wait to come again for some happy hour drinks and apps but probably won't come again for sit down dinner, just not my cup of tea when it comes to the type of Mexican they served. Drinks were tasty though!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I met a friend here for lunch on a Friday, with a reservation. As I walked in, a medium sized non-service dog was near the host stand, jumping up onto everyone who came through the door, with the owner doing nothing other than to keep saying "he's friendly". I was surprised and annoyed that the host also did nothing about this. The restaurant was less than half full, and it was windy and chilly out, but they sat us in an enclosed outdoor patio with both cold air from outside and a heater blowing full blast on us. We had to ask to move to the regular dining room where there were still lots of empty tables.
We ordered unlimited drinks (offered for 90 minutes). We waited about 20 minutes for the first drink after ordering, because there was only one bartender who was also waiting tables in a different section than ours. Our own server did not check on us often, and barely spoke to us when we were ordering, despite the dining room being not busy. The food came out quickly, but the drinks were consistently slow. I enjoyed the salmon, a healthy and filling option. Pinto beans and plain white rice were served together in a single bowl for us to share, but the beans were not good, tasted like way too much cumin.
About an hour into our meal, our server brought out drinks we had ordered, and informed us that those drinks were our last round. We hadn't been there very long and questioned this, and our server said they don't take drink orders after 75 minutes. She was pretty rude about it, even though we were never told this policy. Apparently, they set a 75 minute timer from when you place your first order, not considering time to make and serve drinks with only one bartender who also has to wait tables. We politely let the manager know about the lack of communication and the server's demeanor. She was apologetic, but that didn't make up for the poor experience and service.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2Business owner information

They have a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is really great. The restaurant itself is really nice and the service was great as well. I had gone with a big group for a birthday and we were seated in a more closed off area of the restaurant. I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant and I thought the food was incredible. I'll definitely be back.

One word i would use to describe this experience: TORTURE!
Hmmm what do you say about a restaurant that sits you at 8:45 when your reservation was at 7:45? Hm. I made reservations because I knew it would be busy. My reservation for a party of 5 was for 7:45 and we were okay to wait because we just wanted to enjoy food and margs. BUT TO WAIT FOR AN HOUR AND THEN have horrible service and just okay food? Our server was sweet. But this was for national margarita day and by the time we finished our meal, we only had ONE margarita. ONE MARGARITA? Within a 2 hour span? This was probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. Literally would give this a 0/5 if i could.
I'm very understanding when it comes to restaurants being busy but the logic behind not having drinks makes no sense. This was honestly just a bad bad bad experience and i really hope they get it together to prevent things like this from happening. We got there at 7:45 and left at 10:15. Only one margarita. I am honestly in disbelief. And the food was not even that goo.... We wanted to celebrate an accomplishment for a friend and we left the place just pissed!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
