We've purchased two rugs from Melrose Oriental Rug. Our last shopping trip had us looking for a smaller-scale rug. We made two visits, on each Dave encouraged us to take several rugs home to live with them in our space, and return them when we were ready. We ended up with a gorgeous, unique rug that's sure to be a family heirloom.

We've purchased less expensive rugs in the past, but after our experiences here we see and appreciate that value is a function of what you get in return for your investment. We won't get rugs anywhere else.

Our first experience with them was a pleasure. we had a couple of rugs cleaned, then were ready on time and they received commendable attention. they took the time to point out that they repaired and shaved a few pulls (no charge) and gave us good advice on care.
I'm in Medford, so it's not next door, but they are Great folks, I won't hesitate to go back to them.

I had my grandmother's 9x11 handmade Chinese rug. It had never been cleaned in its life, had a huge hole chewed through it by a dog 30 years ago, and had sad fringe that needed removing. I took it to Melrose. I cannot overstate how incredible the workmanship was on my rug. The patch? Virtually invisible. The fringe? Like it was never there. Clean? Oh so clean. Dave and team took their time to do it right. They were quick but did not rush. Plus they accommodated delivery since they were in my neighborhood! And the price was so so reasonable for what I got. This business is just incredible. I haven't been so happy about a service...ever. I will only be coming to Melrose for all my rug needs. Full stop. See before and after photos!

I brought in an antique Navaho rug that had been in my attic for years and was severely damaged by moths. They rescued it! All the moth damage was repaired, the rug was cleaned and I couldn't be happier. It was not a quick turnaround but after years of neglect... What was kinda cool was that they even showed photos of the repair in progress. This is the kind of service you only get from a family owned store.

David and his team continue to provide rug service above and beyond expectations. I just had two of my oriental rugs cleaned and they came back literally looking new. Improvements were made that I didn't pay for simply because David felt it was the best way to provide the best service he could. I highly recommend Melrose Oriental Rug to anyone looking for rug service and btw he picked up and delivered at no charge!!

These folks are not just experts, they're also super nice. I brought in multiple items to clean and repair with only 2 weeks before moving out of state, and ended up having a lot of questions and being an admittedly annoying customer. David was so patient, returned my phone calls, and helped me coordinate a complicated pick-up. I am very grateful and would recommend them to anyone.
Also, I didn't purchase any rugs from them but the stock they have out is gorgeous!

I brought two rugs in here to be cleaned. They returned my braided rug in excellent shape, post-cleaning - you can't even tell it shared a house with a cat. The other one I brought in has water damage and the dye was running, plus the border was coming off. They repaired it basically for free, and it looks better than I thought possible. Both rugs were done for $88 total, a steal compared to if I had to replace them. Plus I appreciated getting a quote ahead of time and getting a call when they were ready.

I didn't know the old red rug even had a pattern. It was in the 'office' of a horsebarn for unknown years and had gotten pretty filthy. Others advised tossing it out, but I wanted to give it a chance. The shampoo crew at Melrose Oriental washed and washed and washed it to reveal a rich, jewel-tone pattern. And, now all the mud and stiffness is gone, the rug is very lustrous and soft. Really glad I didn't chuck it- it looks great, and no horse smells. They kindly held it until the new place was ready, and delivered on time and with a smile. Terrific company.

This place is great! Great service, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond!! When I picked up my rug I was
pleasantly surprised that they had done some repair work that I didn't ask for (at no charge). They looked at another rug (I was not having cleaned) and gave me advice on where to get more info on it. All in all a premier example of great customer service!!!
